Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

If I have a breakfast reservation at Be Our Guest prior to the Magic Kingdom opening, what is the best way to get there from the Poly? We had been hoping to take the boat over, but it sounds like it may not be running early enough from what I've read. Thanks!

I would vote monorail but you have to be careful of when the Resort Monorail starts running on your day in question. Monorail hours can be inconsistent week to week but for many months now there have been at least a couple of days a week which don't start until 8:30AM, which is too late for a PPO ADR. If it starts running at 7 or 7:30, you're OK. If it's 7:30AM, I'd make sure you catch the very first monorail you can.

Below is the times guide for THIS week. Always make sure to check the current one when you are there as hours change all the time.

Whether boats consistently run that early has always been a bit of a mystery to me, I'm just not sure (have been lucky with cooperating monorail hours every time I've had a PPO ADR).

Thanks for the info. The reservation is at 815 this coming Tuesday, and if the weekly schedule holds in terms of timing for each day the monorail won't be running until 830 that day. Hopefully the folks at the Polynesian will have some ideas? Maybe a cab/uber if there's no monorail and no boat?

Granted I've never needed to use a backup, but my plans have always been:

1) monorail, if no monorail, 2) Poly resort launch, if no resort launch, 3) walk to TTC and take the ferry which I'm pretty sure does run that early.

The problem with cab/uber is that they can't take you to MK, only the TTC. Although an alternative hack is to take a taxi/uber to the Contemporary Resort and then walk to the MK from there.

Sort of needlessly complicated for something so simple, I know.

I've caught the ferry from TTC as early as 7:00, so that would be your best back up.

I've also read somewhere that the busses start running two hours prior to park opening, so that may also be an option for you. I would definitely ask the concierge at the Poly.

So how about for Epcot? I booked most of my reservations and have an 8:05 at Garden Grill on a Wednesday. There is a bus that runs from TTC to Epcot, right? Or should I just grab an uber over there?

yah, hopefully they'll be able to get me pointed in the right direction!

Personally, I have always taken a taxi for PPO ADRs at Epcot if the monorail isn't running. Between getting us/kids up/clothed/ready to go, I'm not usually in the mood to wait on transportation and it's just easier (and not that expensive) to taxi.

Edited to remove bus reference.

I 'think' there are bus options from either Poly or TTC but I can't vouch from experience.
No busses to Epcot, even when the monorail isn't running (unless it's down). We always cab to Epcot for PPOs as well.

Poly only has busses to HS and AK, not MK or EP.

ETA: don't trust concierge if they tell you something different. Learned the hard way :)

I agree with @Cluelyss.... it's good to ask the concierge or other CM, but don't just trust what they tell you as gospel. Stay attuned to your own knowledge and what you may see on the ground in case they give you some bum info. It happens. I've been burned by this too.

Works for me, thanks!

HI! Me and DS7 will be staying at the Poly for the first time next week.

Hope you and your DS have a great time! :goodvibes

Tonight at Disneyland and then tomorrow night we'll be dining at MK. 2 quick nights at the Beach Club then home again at Hawaii longhouse. Been 14 long years since my last visit. Inner kid in me is Geeked out!

Have a great trip :wizard:.

In October, when the EP monorail wasn't starting until 9, Poly did have Epcot buses. We saw three while waiting for our HS bus at 7:30AM.

Your experience may vary.

You should be good, I've seen them used before. If for some reason they are not allowing them in the main pool given crowds or some other reason, the Oasis Pool is a great option as @_auroraborealis_ suggests. No lifeguards there and it's typically more chill. FYI, both pools have zero entry points if that is of any help.

Thank you both for your answers!
