Okay, I'm freaking out a little. It was my understanding that the daybed would fit an adult (aka teenage boy that I had planned on sleeping there). Can anyone else comment on this?

He can definitely sleep on it. Just might not be able to "stretch out" if he's 6 feet tall. Try not to worry. The Disney website says the standard room "sleeps 5 adults", so they intend for an adult to be able to sleep on the daybed.

Just got back from 9 days at the POLY. Everything was great, not one issue with housekeeping. The only small thing is that they seem to need more help at Captain cooks during busy times, just allow some extra time for your meals there. The food was very good when we did get it. We stayed in Tuvalu TPV and it was amazing!!!

I did see work outside the ground floor rooms in Fiji, marina side. There did seem to be guests in the rooms as the work was going on.

The gates at the pool did not always work...but a CM would was always around to help out.

The pool deck had plenty of seats and shade.

Any questions ask away!

I used amazon prime a few times, not for food. I ordered a 64 gig sd card for 19, and for 5 shipping I had it at the Poly the same day. They are selling a 16g for 40 at the resort so it was a good deal. I sent my daughters swimmy, and we donated that to another little girl as we were leaving. I ordered a luggage scale, and earplanes for DD. It was great to have the ability to get something on the fly while in the world.

I asked over on the restaurants board but it appears no one over there has the answer.
Have you ordered the oatmeal at Capt'n Cooks? Did it come with fruit or brown sugar? Is it good thick oatmeal or is it Quaker Oats style?

I can't answer, but hopefully others will be able to help :flower3:.

Home from our trip. We have colds. The first 2 days were really humid but the rest were perfect. Except, when you want to swim. The air was cool. Anyways, we were surprised with turn down service our 1st night in new room. Then, during family night we guessed 1 off from the "how many are in there jar" and won 2 sea racer coupons for 1/2 hr each. We asked and they agreed to let us trade them in for 1/2 pontoon boat rental. It was the perfect ending for our trip. Food (only ate at Capt Cooks and Oasis pool) was pretty good. $10 for 6 wings was crazy. Kids loved them. I didn't get a chance to try. I noticed quick food options for return at night are slim. They switch over to their flatbread only all night menu at 10?. They are pretty bland. I was starving and couldn't stomach them. Someone tried ordering pb & j / kids turkey and a kids side and they were out. It would be nice to have some salads or even wraps you could stick in microwave. Or just add on wraps to the all night menu. Those awesome looking Mickey cupcakes were dry. Everyone we dealt with at hotel was great. The bell service was awesome. Activities people were upbeat and made kids feel special. We had a great trip. I don't believe how fast it went. Now, I'm sitting here wishing we could go back next month.

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a nice trip and enjoyed the Poly :wizard:.

I agree :).

Sounds like they are working on the supports! I was hoping they would get Fiji done prior to our August trip, since that's the longhouse we are requesting. I feel sorry for the people currently there with work going on outside of their window, though!

Glad I just missed the Fiji work. They were working on a few rooms of Aotearoa when I was there the previous week.

My son is 5' 10" and is fine with it. He's a go with the flow kind of guy and is used to a queen at home.

You're welcome - and I was thinking the same thing re. Fiji! I've requested it for August too :yay:

Just got home last night from a long weekend at BWV (which we have concluded is NOT for us resort-wise) and so we can now begin the countdown to our WEEK LONG trip to the POLY in September! We are so excited about staying there. My parents have never been able to stay deluxe so their coming with us and staying in a studio on points they rented from my DH's uncle. They paid PEANUTS for the room! Love it!

How exciting to have another trip planned so soon! September will be here before you know it. Enjoy the planning :wizard:.

The day bed folds over not out and I am about a half inch short of 6' and I would have no problem sleeping on it. The length of the bed surface is exactly 6'

Hey guys! We are headed back to poly in September and were wondering what days and times the offered the marshmallow roast? I couldn't remember if it was every night or not! We took advantage of that one night last trip and LOVED it. This time we said we would plan 2 nights doing this again- just a relaxing night at the resort for swimming, marshmallows and a movie!

I used tikiman's pages to help decide. http://www.tikimanpages.com/poly/the-resort/planning/item/60-which-longhouse? In particular that page was very helpful. I decided we would try to get Tokelau. I myself am hoping to get a view from the castle with our standard view studio, I'm not sure what to request to try to help make sure that happens. If you figure it out, or anybody else has any info I would be all ears!

Just got back from a three night stay at Tokelau. Had two connecting rooms with a perfect view of the castle from the balcony in room 3914 (it was the corner room). Room 3913 also had a view of the castle but you had to peer around the corner to see. Both rooms had a beautiful view of the lake and Grand Floridian. I requested through touring plans and we received room views that were even better than requested!

Do you mind sharing what your request was through TP? We are aiming for a similar view, and were concerned if TP room fax would work for the DVC rooms (paying cash).

Arriving next week for our first stay at poly. Really super excited to stay here. We have stayed at WL in the past and only moved due to the major construction going on there. Have a standard room reservation. Looked at all the buildings and use TP to see the view of the rooms. We all decided that Fiji - marina side - top floor - would be great. I have already put in a request on the phone and have one set up with Touring Plans.

I now see that a few have posted that exterior work has began on that building. For the amount of money our room is costing I do not want to see any sort of construction or workers working out our window. HELP -- Not sure what to do.

Does anyone know if the work in only on the 1st floor? if so we might not really see anything. If the crew just started would it take a while to complete that side of the building.

I had standard view rooms booked and requested through touring plans the following: building 9 (Tokelau) west facing room 3rd floor. Not sure if an exact room was requested but we received a better view than what I had seen on their website. I also contacted reservations a few weeks before and had them note the same request for an upper floor west facing room in Tokelau.
