Has anyone set up one of the Disney's PhotoPass Professional Portrait Sessions (at a resort) after getting engaged at WDW??

I'm wondering how far in advance it would need to be done... and pricing...

This is what I have found online regarding the services...

Disney Resorts Private Photo Shoot - You can arrange for private 30 minute photo sessions with a Disney's PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. The sessions includes around 40 photos (limited only by time) taken around the picturesque resorts and their beaches. Please note that as of September 1, 2008, Portrait sessions at the resorts are a separate entity from the Disney's PhotoPass system in the theme parks. While both Parks and Portraits use the same system for their photos, they are separate products. There is also a new pricing structure in place, which is as follows:

Disney's PhotoPass Portrait Session Photo Package - For a price of $49.95, you will get your choice of one of the following packages: (A) 8x10 (2), 5x7 (3); (B) 5x7 (2), 4x6 (4 sets of 2); (C) 5x7 (7). You will be able to choose the pose for each print, so you can have up to five different poses for Package A, up to 6 different poses for Package B and up to 7 different poses for Package C

Disney's PhotoPass Portrait Session PhotoCD - For a price of $99.95, you will get your choice of photo package as explained above plus all of the photos on a PhotoCD.

Thats awesome! never knew you could do that! I am definitley going to check into thismore with disney/wedding planner!!! we are going down in three weeks and that would be great for some pre-wedding photos - we are getting married in october! thanks so much for the info! if i get more info from my planner or that i will post it on here for you!!!!

Hi there:wave2: - my family did one of these sessions at the Poly last year. We got quite a few pictures taken during our time slot -- I think over 100 iirc. Out of that there were a few really good ones and many that were fun to add to a photobook/scrapbook. There were also a number that weren't usable at all (squinty, too bright or too dark, eyes closed, etc.). But I think that's just the nature of the session because there is no editing to the pics after they're taken so if you get the CD you get everything they took-the good bad and the ugly so to speak:rotfl:. We got the CD option, which I'm glad we did because the prints they can do for you on-the-spot aren't as good quality as prints I get done through a photo developer.

Here's a link from the resort board with more info and lots of people posted samples of their photos. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1972651

ETA: these sessions are with PhotoPass photogs, I think there are also resort sessions with a professional photog from DPS that cost more.

HTH:goodvibes

Oops, forgot to add - unless it's changed, these can be booked 30 days in advance. We actually didn't book ours until we were down at WDW and they still had tons of times to pick from.

We did the session at the Poly as well (just because). You do get copies of everything (even bad shots).

You can find more information HERE

What 3 lenses do you think are essential for wedding and portrait photography?
If you had to name 3 lenses that are essential for wedding and portrait photography, which ones would they be? I know there are many that make the job and work turn out better, but which three are must haves? Please give focal length and max apertures.

Are they still doing these? I can't seem to find any info other than what's on this website.
Thank you!

I'm sure others will join in to share. In 2010 our family did the Photopass session at the Polynesian for my oldest DD who was a senior at the time to get special senior photos plus we had some great family shots.

This summer we will visit and my youngest DD hopes to do photos for her senior pictures.

From my exploring it sounds like the resort pictures are now done by event photography.
