Disney's not so bad...try $5 Bottled Water & $10 Slushies!

Wow!!!!!!!! I may never complain about Disney prices again.

Jonas Brothers concert at Blossom outdoor amphitheatre...HOT, 91 degrees. Lots of sun, not much shade...you are allowed to bring in ONE bottle of water per person. No, pop, or anything else, plastic bottled water only and only one per person. Due to RIDICULOUS traffic you must leave your home about 5 HOURS before the concert, you arrive in the parking lot, which is not paved, you park on a grass field, parking lot opens at 3:30pm, gates to get inside open at 5pm, again HOT, you stand in the line to give them your precious ticket for almost 2 hours, you are now inside with your one measly bottle of now warm water and the concert doesn't even start for another 3 hours, did I mention it's HOT? and when you try to hydrate, you discover a regular sized bottle of water is $5! A regular old slushie you can get at any fair is $10!!!! and you are basically trapped with thousands of hyperactive tweens waiting for the Jonas Brothers and having no choice but to buy the $5 water so that no one faints before the concert even starts.

Did my nieces think it was worth it? ...... Ummmmmmmmmm, DUH!!!!!!!! Heck Yea!!!
They happily said while wearing their $30 t-shirts.

You have very lucky nieces! I hate going to Blossom with nearly every fiber of my being. The last time I went, it was raining and I got my minivan stuck in the mud in the not-paved parking 'lot'. Did I mention we were there to see Rush? Nothing makes you feel more middle-aged than getting stuck in the mud at a prog rock concert and having to ask many, many highly 'altered' folks to push your nerdy minivan to higher ground (and I do mean 'higher'!) We couldn't even reciprocate because we had to go relieve the babysitter. We are old.

I saw that Jonas Brothers mayhem on the news last night and thanked G-d for my boy children!

Ahhh.... the things we do for kids. There are a lot of places that make Disney seem a bargain. Your neices will have great memories though!

May I suggest in the future to freeze your bottled water and it will stay cold for several hours. We do this while we're in WDW and always have ice cold water to drink.

Funny...we happened to mention something similar lastnight. DH and I were at the movies and there was a soda machine...$4 for a 20oz bottle!!
HOLY COW!! We said "not like this is Disney or anything!"

That is really ridiculous that you could only bring one bottle of water. I personally think that is terrible. It makes me very upset. I can understand not allowing cokes, etc. But your own water??? And then charging that much for drinks. I do not understand how they justify that.

NOPE! 3 hours to get out of the parking lot!!!! I forgot about that, I haven't been to Blossom probably 10 years. Last time was to see Jimmy Buffet.

ITA! It was disgusting! And this is an OUTDOOR venue and it was over 90 degrees! It was awful. I don't blame the Jonas Brothers though, this is the way it is I heard at every concert there.

You USED to be able to bring coolers and picnic baskets, but no more.
I don't care if they make you buy stuff there, but at a reasonable price. $5 is just plain gouging.

I feel your pain When Disney on Ice come to the UK the prices are horrendous A bucket of popcorn £8 which would be around $14 and a slushie £6 or $11 and that is without the glowing spinny things they sell


$5 for water is a total rip off though

I am originally from Cuyahoga Falls and my parents still live there. I was there in early June for my sister's high school graduation and I was shocked to see how much it hasn't changed (still no paved parking), while the policies regarding what you can bring in and what things cost have changed considerably. You used to even be able to bring in wine during Orchestra concerts and you could bring your own alcohol to other shows if you were creative enough (chocolate rum balls were a fave amongst my friends and I).

In addition to attending lots of shows there, I actually spent my summers while in college working at Blossom. The pay wasn't great, but the perks of free concert tickets and getting to see a different show every day that I worked made it worth it.

If they haven't changed it, there used to be a "hidden" exit that you could use to get back to the main road. But, the traffic has been (and will continue) to be an issue. But, the setting and the acoustics are the best in NE Ohio and amongst the best anywhere (although I still haven't made it out to Red Rock in CO).

I understand they have to limit people as to what they bring in, but I'm sorry, since you know Blossom, you know you are essentially "trapped" and if you can't bring in as much bottled water as you want...especially when it's 92 degrees...then charging $5 for a BOTTLE OF WATER is on the verge of extortion IMHO. There were five of us, so $25 for a little water? We did see a few people faint too...that's a health issue. Even Disney allows you to bring in drinks and offers free ice water, as does The Indians and the Browns at the stadiums. My Blossom days are over.

I saw Stevie Nicks there too....twice, I think! Tons of other shows as well including No Doubt with Weezer and Face to Face (this show took about 4 hours to get out of and I had been up all night the night prior with my mom being in labor with my little brother), countless Ozzfests and those types of shows.... I'd have to go look at ticket stubs to even remember lol

Not to mention that on top of all you mentioned you're hiking up and down a huge hill a few times.

You only paid $30 for a shirt. I paid $35 for the shirt in Mansfield (Comcast Center/Tweeter Center/Great Woods).

We also had the one bottle rule, but no one was searching bags. And I was surprised that they had to leave their signs/posters outside. The french fry line was about 30 people long.

Wondering if you had a long time to wait between opening act and the JoBros coming on stage. It was about 1.5 hours between the two acts for us. We think that they had something else scheduled (live appearance via satellite or something).

This is Disney music....Disney is who hooked them on the Jonas Brothers. Even if it was indirectly.

DD did have a wonderful time, but most likely I won't do this again for a very long time.
