Disneys Night Kingdom Still Being Built??

I read a lot about these blogs from a year ago on this new potential park that is supposed to be built near animal kingdom thats like dsicovery cove. itll open late afternoons until late at night be like $300 a visit and is supposed to provide adults with unique interactive experiences.

Jim posted a couple of updates after the article you linked to. First, he said that "Night Kingdom" was being scaled back and renamed to "Jungle Trek"

Then he said that Disney had decided to "postpone construction"

Certainly seems like a lot of the rumors that Jim Hill posts as true suddenly end up going on hold when they don't happen! I guess I'll make a statement that Disney is definitely going to build a new park in Phoenix Arizona, then when someone asks where it is I'll just say it's a hold! Just as accurate as most of Jim's "true" rumors.

I get the impression that Jim Hill gets most of his rumors at the "Blue Sky" phase, but because of all the bureucracy that is prevalent at WDW, a lot of things just don't happen.

Too bad that bureaucracy doesn't keep cuts from happening. Then they're all to happy to oblige.

A high-end, high-price park makes absolutely no sense right now. Disney is just trying to get people to go to their regular parks. A new theme park, or whatever kind of park this Night Kingdom is, is a long, long way off for Disney.

Jim clearly has an inside track with someone in the Blue Sky phase, and I'm thinking it has to be someone fairly low-to-middle on the food chain. Anyone higher would have signed a confidentiality agreement and couldn't talk without fear of job loss. Jim's biggest shortcoming, I think, is presenting rumors as fact instead of simply saying, "I heard this ... it might be true".

Night Kingdom is being considered as one of the names of the new area near DD replacing PIslnd, that much I can confirm from what I've read.

But there is NO area near DTD under development. Most of it is already developed.
