So how does this work? Is the bus just a chartered bus that you store your car seats in the bottom of? SO you can't use car seat on the ride to disney? We are flying there and don't plan on getting a rental car or anything, just using Disney transport. I am wondering if there is any point in bring our carseats (2) along? Will we need them for anything? THanks. If there is anything else I should know about young kids-DS1 and DS4, and DME please feel free to share. THanks!

We went last year with our son who was 10 months, and didn't even bother with the carseat, AND WE WERE GLAD WE DIDN'T.

On ME they play a video that kept his attention the whole way, and we wouldnt have wanted to bother with it in room since we didnt have a car it would have just taken up space.

But to answer your question yes it is a charter type bus and luggage and carseats fit under it.

We have brought our car seat with us (we only used it on the plane). You cannot use it on the bus, but they'll store it below with the rest of your carry on luggage and stroller (if you have one). Whether you bring it for the plane is entirely up to you and your comfort level, but you won't need it for the bus ride. :sunny:

DME buses are plushly upholstered. I like what someone else said, only bring the carseats if you're going to use them on the airplane. This is good advice because you won't use them anywhere else, since you say you'll be using Disney Transport during your stay.

We flew with our 5 year old and 2.5 year old last year, both of them in regular airline seats and both did just dandy on DME and Disney Transport.

If you bought an airline seat for your one year old (and plan to have that child in the seat for the flight) then you MUST use a FAA approved safety seat. But if your one year old is a lap child, then you wouldn't need the seat, anyway. A safety seat for a 4 year old on an airliner is certainly a matter of opinion, and as the parent yours is the only one that counts. But I'll toss in my two cents and say that there's really no need for a 5-point harness for a 4 year old on an airliner. And just in case you have a large 4 year old who is already using just a booster seat, then forget the seat and leave it at home, since you can't use a booster seat on an airliner (and it would also make so sense to do so).

Good luck, and have fun and safe trip!
