I know this service does not start until May 5,2005( during the Happiest Celebration on Earth), but I was wondering if anyone has called the Disney resort they are going to be staying at and told them they would like to do this? And if so, could you please give me some more info. on the Disney's Magical Express Service?

My best friend and I are going to be going to Disney World in Sept. 2005 and we are going to be stay at the Beach Club~DVC And from what I understand,is that if you are staying at a Disney resort, than the Disney's Magical Express Service is complimentary( is that right?)

Thanks for any info. you can give me. :)

Actually you don't call the resort, I believe you need to set up Magical Express with whomever you made your reservations with. And yes it's FREE!!

I booked room/tickets with CRO and then called back with my flights. They said I will receive special tags to put on my checked luggage and there will be a Disney Desk at the airport that will have a list of guests arriving using magical express and their flights. They will keep tabs on flights so they know if you're early, late or on-time. I was told more info regarding location of this desk will be included with my luggage tags. Buses will be there to take groups of arriving passengers to their hotels. Hope this helps.

Thanks that does help! Am sorry but what does CRO stand for? And what happens if we made our reservations thru calling one of the Disney resorts? Because my friend already called at made reservations for us to stay at the Beach Club resort. Would we just call back to them and give them our flight info and stuff( we already have our flight booked too)?

Thanks again!

CRO = Central Reservations Office.

And if that's not enough to confuse you...

CRO is gone. They merged with the WDTC (Walt Disney Travel Company) and became the DRC (Disney Reservation Center).

:teeth:

I just called the other day to make ressies at CSR. After she took the reservation, she told me about the new service and asked if we were flying in.
Then she said if I had the flight information she could set it all up then....and I did.
The only thing I am not sure about is when we get to the airport to depart....Do we go to a seperate Continental counter? Or do we just go to the same one and then they take care of it since we will have the tags on the luggage??

I was told the information would come in the mail with the tags....but I will wait till closer to the date and call again to ask.

I am not sure about the departure...Perhaps calling the airline would clear that up?

Are you going within the next 2 months? They told me to call back in May with our arrival and departure dates/times..since we are going in July.

Also in regards to the "Baggage to your room service"...not all airlines are "onboard" yet. We are going through Southwest and they are not on board yet. The rep did say that they are trying to get more airlines on board to take advantage of the luggage service. The transportation is still a perk to take advantage of if you are staying on-site.

They will still transport your luggage even if you airline is not participating. The airlines participating will allow you to check in for your flights at your resort.

If your airline is not participating you can still take your luggage on board the bus but you will have to go to your airlines check in counter or curbside.

So who do I have to call to set this up?

Which Airlines are participating?

Call 407-WDISNEY. There's an 800 number, but I'm not certain what it is.

I don't think that participants are grouped by airlines, but rather by home airport? I could be wrong. But the folks at Disney should know. :)
