I am looking into staying at disney's all star movie resort. Just wondering I noticed they have Disney's Magical Express...

How does this work, like where will the buses take you to and from? Airport/Disney parks? and how much does it cost?

Thanks in advance!

Disney Magical Express is for those who are staying onsite for transportation from MCO to Hotel and back with baggage Delivery right from airport to your room no need to claim bags. If you are using a participating airlinces you can also check your bags at your hotel for your return flight avoiding the airline check in at airport.

where can i find the scheduals for these buses?

my flight out of florida is leaving at 6am... will the magical express be running at this time?

Does the magical express also take you to disneyworld?

one more question...

the day i will need the magical express from the airport i will be ariving back at the airport from my cruise. Will they still allow me to take the magical express bus even though i will not be flying in that day?

Busses leave every 15-20 minutes from MCO and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 75 mintues depending on which resort you are staying at. DME busses are coach busses. The busses used for transportation from the resorts to the parks are different.

We had our DME reservations for our trip down and back to the airport. The day before we were checking out (we stayed at Pop Century), Mousekeeping hung our departing information on the door to our room. Our flight was leaving at 5 pm but we had to be down in the front (with our luggage) no later than 2:30 pm. The DME bus picked us up at 2:45, loaded everyone's luggage on then headed for the airport. It worked out smoothly and we got to the SouthWest gate with about 15 minutes to spare before boarding the plane for home.

Oops, forgot to add one important thing. You must have a reservation for DME. They do not take walk ons.

OK, we just used it, and this is in brief how Magical Express (ME) works. You have to arrange it in advance with Disney when you book your on-site hotel reservations. All-Star Movies would qualify for this. They will want to know your arrival time at the airport. This is usually via a flight, but you could probably contact Disney direct on it. If you are flying in, they can collect your bags for you, but since you will be coming in from your cruise, you can just check in directly on Magical Express. They will then take you directly to your hotel and your hotel ONLY. If you want to go to one of the parks, you will need to catch a bus at the hotel. On-site buses can take you anywhere from your resort.

As far as the 6 AM flight, they may take you, but understand that Magical Express picks you up THREE hours before your flight, so for a 6 AM flight, you will have to be up at 3 AM. (You probably need to get up that early to make the flight anyways.) They will let you know the time you are going to be picked up from the resort.

Hope this helps.

We have used Disney Magical Express to All-Star Movies (ASMo) and it went very well. I don't know how it works with the cruise. Since your departing flight is early, you may have to check your bags the night before. You'll want to ask about that. Here is a site with good information: www.buildabettermousetrip.com/dme.html

By the way, did you know that there is a great thread on the resorts forum with really good All-Star Movies information:

We used the Magical Express for our first trip this past July and it was wonderful. Remember, your bags may take three hours to show up at your room (that may be different if you are coming back from a cruise). I goofed and had our rain ponchos in our checked luggage. It poured as soon as we headed for MGM and we got soaked. Returned back to the hotel after lunch and there was our luggage with the ponchos waiting on us.

We also checked in our baggage there at the hotel and it was great. Got off the Magical Express at the airport and went right through security.

My family and I highly recommend using the Magic Express. It just seems like part of the magic!

I did notice there were busses specifically for the Disney Cruise Line, so I wonder if that is what you would use?

You can't. Assuming the Guest is flying home on a participating airline:
The Resort Airline Checkin counters are open from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily.
Guests need to check in at least three hours* but no more than twelve hours before the flight departs.
Therefore, only Guests whose flights depart between 8:30 AM* and 1:30 AM can use the RAC, and check through luggage if they're flying home on a participating airline.

*Because the departures are scheduled about three hours before your flight, and Guests are advised to be ready fifteen minutes in advance, it's probably safer to use 9 AM as the earliest flight time. HOWEVER, anyone with a departing flight and an advance reservation can use DME - just if flights fall outside the range given Guests need to transport their own luggage and check in at the airport.
