Disney's Magical Express -- Luggage Tag Info

I booked DME a month or so ago for my October trip and received my luggage tickets about 1 week later! Not sure why they even bothered sending travel documents out months in advance. My flight info has already changed since then which will require a phone call to DME and possibly new luggage tags. Seems like it would make better sense to send the tags out 1 month prior to your trip.... instead of mailing as soon as you book DME.
You won't need new tags.

You only need to contact DME if the flight number for your departing flight has changed.

No need to call DME or Disney. As long as your resort reservation number stays the same, your luggage tags will get your bags to the correct resort/room. It doesn't matter what flight/time you arrive. If the airlines change flight times, no big deal...well, unless they change to an after 10pm arrival time! It is only your departing flight that they care about. If that changes, you can let them know when you are at MCO, upon arrival. Or, you can let the front desk at your resort know of the change when you check in.

Your changed flight info won't affect your luggage tags. (Sorry, posted before seeing the previous two answers.)

Thanks, everyone! My flight number (and departure time) did change though so I know I will need to contact ME at some point. Figured I'd wait until I'm closer to my trip since it could very well change again in the next several months. As long as I don't need new luggage tags, I guess there's no point in contacting ME before my trip.

I am 38 days out and have received nothing. No tags, nothing other than the little booklet about the vacation with date reminders etc. When should I expect to get something?

You're getting closer -- I would expect you'd receive something shortly, about four weeks ahead of your arrival.

Does the Magical Express run 24 hours a day? I am thinking of booking a flight out of Buffalo that would land at 10:45pm. I know we would need to pick up our luggage and take it with us but am wondering if the buses are still running that late. Thanks for any help.

Yes, the buses run 24/7. You may face a slightly longer wait during the off-peak times, but the buses are up and running.

I too already have my yellow tags for at least a month, and am going in October. They mailed them to us as soon as we booked DME. Not sure if we will get new ones, if any changes occur, but not too worried about it. The most important info is where we are staying and I know that is not changing.

Thanks for the answer! Southwest decided that the latest flight on Nov 3 would be 3:30 instead of the 8:00pm we were counting on so we will be doing our 'normal' Magical Express (don't have to pick up our luggage/can go straight to check-in and board the bus). A few more hours in Disney...I'm all for it!!!

We are flying into MCO on Friday night and staying at an airport hotel that night. We plan on taking the Magical Express on Saturday morning, and then again on the way home the next Saturday. So we plan on using the luggage bypass service on our way home only. Can we do this? Doing baggage claim on the way there, but checking our bags at the resort on our departure Saturday morning, and not seeing them again until we arrive at our home airport that night.

Sure. RAC (Resort Airline Check-in) has nothing to do with DME; you can use it whether or not you use DME. (Think of it as curbside check-in, except the curb is about 20 miles from the airport.)

I just got one luggage tag per person but asked for two luggage tags per person since flying SWA. Contacted DME and they said they send extra tags later. Anyone experience this?

I was 60 days out yesterday and received my luggage tags. I was thinking last fall when I went, the tags came with the booklet but no booklet this time. Will it come later or is the confirmation letter all that is needed now?

I got the booklet with vouchers etc and luggage tags all at the same time at 32 days out from my trip. Seems like there is no real pattern of who gets what and when. I assume you will get the booklet closer to your trip.

I received my voucher packet about 3 weeks ago, but no DME tags. I checked with my travel agent and she said there's no real schedule for sending out the tags. I'm now 10 days out and still nothing. Wondering if I should just call DME myself?

I would to make sure you actually have a reservation.

I didn't get a 'booklet' this past trip. I got the tags and a letter. Seems Disney is trying to save money.
If I hadn't received anything from DME, 10 days out, I would call to see what the story was.
