Disney's Magical Express -- Luggage Tag Info

She is right and ME will tell you the same thing. When I had a ME tag printed wrong I was told to just cross out the bad info and put in the good. As long as they change it in the computer the bar code will come up with the correct info for where to deliver it. The one time I had to change my tag my luggage showed up the fastest. Then there was the time the tag was correct and my luggage ended up lost at another Disney resort for over 24 hours.

I am not sure about the second question because you would get a return tag in your ME booklet if they know about the return flight but they also leave a hang tag on your door handle the morning before departure with a print out showing the info for your return flight and showing that to the driver works too. I would call as soon as you can just to be safe.

Have a great trip.

Yes, you can just cross out the old resort and write in the new one...but you don't have to even do that. I never have. All the resort info is in the bar code...as long as you kept the same reservation number. When you cross out the old and write in the new, be careful not to mark any of that bar code..that will mess up your luggage delivery.

You have two choices for your return trip. If you end up going to the DME counter, to checkin upon arrival at MCO, you can give them all the departure information at that time. Or, you can just wait until you get to the Polynesian and do it when you checkin there. Since you'll only be there for two nights, I would do it as soon as possible..right at checkin. Otherwise you may forget.

Thank you, wow, that is news to me!

I was thinking that a baggage person would just see the tags with the AK(I assume that means AK area resort) on them and just put them in that pile-I forget what an automated world we live in now. And I also forget that it is Disney.

Just in case I'm going to still pack everyone an extra outfit for the next day in the carry on-our flight doesn't get in until around 7:30PM so if our bags end up at Pop for a few hours we'll still be ok.

Always a good idea to pack your carry-ons like that, anyway!:goodvibes

If it makes you feel better, you can cross out the "AK" and write in "DD." POR is in the DD zone for Disney's Magical Express.

We always carry a bag with an extra pair of essentials for all, so that the rest of the luggage can be left to DME . It usually does turn up within 3 hours but the one time it took longer, we really weren’t stranded as we had what we needed with us without the bother of lugging around bigger bags.

We're flying to MCO at 5am tomorrow, staying at CSR and have 4 bags to check but only received 3 yellow tags...we're flying RT w/ Southwest (which is now participating fully w/ DME -at least for our resort):thumbsup2 . I'd like to avoid picking up the extra bag from the airport luggage pick up and head directly to the ME bus line if possible. I read somewhere that upon our check in at the airport that we only need to let the airline know we have an extra DME bag - sooo, just checking here, is this info correct? I'd hate to lose a bag and can not downsize to 3 bags....
:hippie:

Oops, may have posted too soon, but am in a rush since we leave in the morning :cloud9: I meant that I read that when we check in at the DME counter we should show them our luggage reciept and that they will take care fo teh extra bag then - my new question is, does this work or have people lost luggage b/c of this system?

You'll be fine doing it that way. I don't think I've heard of anyone losing their bags when they didn't tag them and had to show claim receipts at the DME counter. I would put something really bright and colorful on your one untagged bag though....not a red ribbon though, everyone does that. Just something that will make it stand out and make it easier for DME workers to see it.

I have some extra Disney World Tags I'll use and our 4th suitcase is an OLD hardcase so I'll do as you suggest and can add Disney Stickers!!!;) This should help. TKS!:yay:

Just booked a trip yesterday for next week:scared1: We were told it is too late to get any disney m.e. tags or paperwork. I think they are going to fax me some kind of confirmation #. We are flying in late so I need to get my luggage anyway at the airport but do you think they will give us a hard time about using magical express? Thanks.

I am using ME for the first time in June...I was wondering since we already have all of our tags and confirmation do I have to go to the ME desk area or can I skip that line and just get in the bus line??? Thanks!!

As long as you're in the DME system, you'll be fine. I've arrived at the checkin counter with nothing (I was very thorough and packed all my paperwork in my checked bags!!!) and they just printed me out vouchers for the bus ride. You'll be fine.

Nope. Do NOT just head to the bus lines. You need to be told by the DME CM, standing at the entrance to the checkin counter line, that you can go to the bus lines. There could be any kind of issue which would need to be dealt with at the counter. In all probability you will be sent to the bus line directly, but that's not your decision to make.

Thanks - I feel better about it now. Figured I can't be the only crazy one with such a last minute trip that we can't even get our paperwork. :)

My question is...I'm flying round-trip with Southwest, using DME, and staying at CBR. I know that Southwest is now participating with resort check-in, but I'm not sure its offered yet at CBR. It said it should be offered by the end of the year after some testing is done. Does anyone know if this is offered yet?

If not, please verify this is the correct process I will have to take.

On the night before we are leaving Disney, we will get an envelope from DME on our door. It will include the time the bus will pick us up at the resort (usually about 2 hours 45 minutes prior to flight). We will have to take our luggage with us on the bus, check-in at MCO, check our luggage at MCO, then board our flight. Is this correct?

We stayed at AKL last trip so I knew the process, but now that CBR doesn't participate with resort check-in with MCO, I'm not sure what to do. Please help! (Or can I check-in at CBR but I just have to check my luggage once we get there?)

CBR doesn't yet have the storage space to handle the extra luggage from Southwest passengers.

You are correct in the steps you'll need to take, with one omission: if you aren't using Early Bird Check In, you're going to want to head to Guest Services at any park, or Lobby Concierge at any resort, 24 hours prior to your flight's scheduled departure, to check in for your flight.

Thank you for clarifying that for me! Thats very helpful info to know! :goodvibes

Just to make sure I'm reading this right...since I'll be checking-in at the resort desk (or at the park Guest Srvcs) then when we get to MCO, we go straight to check-in our baggage & then through security.
