We had the strangest problem using this just last week. My family checked in and we all got our boarding passes, but they refused to give my husband one and said he had to check in to the airport and they would not give him a boarding pass. The women said don't bother callling your airline there is nothing you can do. Well this was the first thing I did. We fly all the time and have no problems what so ever. In fact, we go to Disneyworld and use the airline check in once or twice a year. This happend at PO Riverside. When I called our airline and asked what the problem was they said they saw no problem and check in my husband. I went to the conceirge desk where they printed his boarding pass with no problem. Has this happened to anyone else?

Our whole family went last May at POR and out of 6 of us, they didn't give my dd 11 her boarding pass , they said we would have to get it at the airport. We just throught her name got flagged for some reason. But we got to the airport and they said there was no problem and said disney resorts do this alot. We got her boarding pass and was on our way.

They can do a random security screen on your sometimes. You can't check in unless you are at the airport. I have had that happen several times.

It's probably that he was chosen for random screening. Happens to my husband a lot.

Yup, I've had that happen to me (though not specifically with DME). DME cannot exempt folks from the random security screening.

Happened to my 6yo ds. Happened once flying out of our home airport, and once through the DME desk. We DID call the airline, and they said people get randomly flagged for additional security checks, meaning they must check in at the airport. The people on the phone from the airline were very kind and sympathetic, but they couldn't change the situation.

Hi,

Thanks for all your responses. I'm glad I was able to get the boarding pass anyway. When I called the airport they said it was no problem and told me to reprint them at any computer. In fact, I reprinted all of ours and just threw away the ones magical express gave the rest of our family. So I will definately do this again. I was a little worried about our luggage, but thought this was better than getting harressed at the airport. It is so much easier to have your boarding passes when you get to the airport.

It happened to us, but they wouldn't take ANY of our luggage or print boarding passes for ANYBODY in our party -- we had to do it at the airport.

Happened on the way down, too. Coming down, they asked specific questions about my nephew (birthday, etc.), but coming back they didn't ask any questions, and told us "somebody in our party" had a name that was on a watch list and no, they couldn't tell us who, nor could the airline have known. Which is silly, since they didn't ask for info on any of the rest of us, only the 13 year old boy.

If this happens to you, be sure to allow plenty of extra time at the airport to straighten it out. It's not like we had to do anything -- it's just that we held up the line at least 15 mins while they milled around and spoke to various supervisors.

We had a rental car to return -- I think if we had had ME, we would have been out of luck entirely. Not sure what policy is then. Would they take you to the airport anyway, just without boarding passes?

They would not give my husband a boarding pass and would not say why. But the women at the magical express said "dont call the airline as there is nothing you can do and that my husband HAD to check in at the airport!" They did take all our luggage with no problem. I called our airline and they checked in my husband and the airline told us to go to any computer to reprint them out. They said there was no reason why my husband could not check in. I reprinted all the boarding passes and threw away what the magical express employees gave me originally. We take the magical express every year and the bus driver does not ask to see a baording pass. In your magical express book they give you a return ticket to show to the bus driver. I figured our luggaged was tagged and would make it home and it did. We all had our boarding passes and walked to security no problems.:)

happened to us this pased OCT at the BWV. My DW and I got ours then my DSis and BIL were next and my DSis got hers but my BIL couldn't get his. I was standing there when the new CM ( I believe) messed up with the numbers. And since we had a hard time at check-in with the same CM I thought something was wrong. She the CM wouldn't do it again and that we had to check in at the Airport. I waited about 10 min and then had another CM check my BIL in and had no problem with it.

Not that it matters AT ALL in this situation, but the people working the Resort Airline Check-in desks are NOT Disney CMs. They are employees of a company called BAGS Inc.
