Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa - **LOBBY REFURB HAS BEGUN 4/14**

Just returned from a 2 night stay. We got our wish of connecting rooms and were pixie dusted from the standard view rooms we booked to rooms overlooking one of the pools in the boca chica building.
Front desk was a little iffy, we had some issues at check in that made check out a little bit of a hassle. Bell services in the portico was EXCELLENT tho, really got our quick vacay off on the right foot.
Our rooms were pretty worn. A big tear in the couch and mold in the shower. The furniture in general seemed pretty worn out. Not enough to request to move, but for the cost, noticible. The AC in one of the rooms was also noticeably better than the other (it was my room that was better so definitely no complaints haha) boca chica building has a great fireworks view from the patio on the water. No music, but we could see most of the fireworks and tinker bell making her flight.

We booked here for the access to magic kingdom with a 2 year old and 1 year old, and it was great, no monorail hiccups for us, and we got our own car on 2 out of the 3 monorail trips.
Feature pool was great, kids loved the zero entry. Much preferred the big pool to the splash pad (our 2 year old princess got VERY scared at the hat full of water that dropped.) I think at this time next year they will LOVE the splash pad. Pool bar was great, I noticed most of the cabanas were empty.
Nothing can top my first Grand Floridian stay (pixie dusted to main building club level with theme park view) but it is such a beautiful resort, and so convenient with little kids and babies.

Thanks for the report. Heads up the GF is a great place to stay because the rooms overlooking the pool are the std aka garden view rooms. :thumbsup2

Air: you can change fan speed. I always change to HI it makes the room cooler.

Sorry to Hijack your post lol. Hope it helps someone in the future.

Agree on rooms. They are up soon to get refurbed.

You could see Tink? That is awesome:tinker:

Hi BlueSkies, :wave2: WTG on posting pics. Looks like you had a nice trip thanks for the review. Love the lounge pics. Happy to see bigger tables with more than 2 chairs. I will be there in 34 days!!:dogdance:

We just booked a confirmed dvc reservation for this weekend! I’m extremely excited. This has always been my bucket list resort so I can’t believe we’re actually staying. We booked a studio with lake view for 3 nights and it was only $750!! We were booked at AoA for 3 nights in a cars suite but we’re actually saving $400 not to stay there!

That is exactly why we only book using points now! Have a great time!

Love the room service pix. A poster above asked about current service. Looks like the tablecloths and flatware are back?

Ahhh I’ll be in rpc in about a month, Can’t wait🥰

Yeah, when we were at Citrico's twice in July I saw lots of CMs pushing the room service carts around the grounds. Back to the normal setup with real plates/flatware/tablecloth.

Just fixed them - sorry, I fell behind!

Great pics! Glad to see they've brought my yacht back from service. :-)

Hope you had a wonderful trip!
Can’t wait to help celebrate your anniversary!
