Beautiful pics!!!!! Thanks for sharing! I hope you’re having a great time!!!
I second this ^^^^^!
My last day of school was yesterday and we had to change classrooms for the third year in a row. So I was incredibly tired yesterday. After 27 years, I have a lot of stuff. Anyway, I saw the first pics yesterday. But it did not register until this morning that you are in my future Disney apartment!! Oh how I wish. . .

Just wanted to give a quick review of our room at big pine key

These are the most thinnest walls I have ever been in. You hear entire conversations. Babies crying like they are in your room. Had two separate rooms with same issues

You hear the toilets flushing from other rooms

Noise isolation is just not good

I knew this was possible based on reviews but didn’t think it would bother me so much, but it did. Won’t stay here again.

If you’re booked in the resort studios, just be advised it’s possible you’ll have the same experience. I never had this at any other Disney resort.

On the positive, the rooms are so beautiful. Shame for the resort studios though that they are in the building with no isolation. Rooms are very big. Balcony is big. Staff has been AMAZING. Great people. Great front desk. Brought in a fan to try and help with noise. Bellman said it’s a known issue. Beautiful grounds and lobby. I guess I’ll have to try the original villas next time if I want to try again

For the amount of money spent, it’s a shame. But hey, it’s Disney, gotta enjoy it

:scratchin Ya know......I am starting to wonder if certain buildings or floors in certain buildings were not built with the same insulation between rooms. I have heard reports of this problem over the years. Both of our stays at GF in Sago have been very quiet. I mean, I get that the noise level of neighbors is a crap shoot but if you are hearing detailed conversations of people next door who are not shouting, that is a problem. It's a shame that this was not addressed during the refurb since they did extensive work on the outside of the buildings.

Thx for info. We’re in theme park view resort studio tomorrow. Packing sound machine now. And maybe a fan.

With the walkway open now …is it reliably available for early entry…to be among first at gates?

Cruise next year?! I have never done a cruise, but have been interested after reading so many great reviews on the DCL threads. I'm extremely prone to motion sickness and have assumed cruises were a "no way" for me. However, I continually read reviews of others in the same boat (no pun intended) who did well on cruises w/some help from meds. Will be interested to hear your cruise comments. AND - jealous of all of you going at the end of the month (along w/my younger daughter who's doing a Graduation trip with friends, alas, without mom. Why didn't I say I had to go as chaperone?!)
I get motion sickness very easily. I really can’t do any theme park with virtual motion rides without medication, and even ‘real’ rides can be difficult - I haven’t been on the teacups in 20 years. I also can’t do a taxi ride of more than 10 minutes without getting sick.

We typically go on 2 cruises per year. A scopolamine patch completely resolves the issue while on the ship. For me the only side affects is that I get very sleepy if I have any alcohol… which they recommend avoiding anyway.

Dying to try a Disney cruise next year. We cruise on Princess mainly - they give us “free” cruises (knowing we’ll make it up in the casinos), so biting the bullet to pay for a Disney cruise is painful, but will almost certainly be less than our next park visit! 😳

Thanks for this! I'm in the same boat with rides. Good to hear your cruise thoughts. I'm not an alcohol drinker, so that's no problem with the scopolamine patch. I may have to try a short cruise and see what happens!

Grand Floridian Outer Building Construction Celebrates Completion

As of this morning, the crains used for the work as well as extensive scaffolding and tarping no longer covered Sago Key. In another sign of completion, the walkway connecting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to the Magic Kingdom also reopened.

Construction is expected to continue until Fall 2023 with work focused on enhancing the already-elegant aesthetic of the resort’s main building. It will certainly be exciting to see how everything comes together at the resort over the next few months, espeically with its anniversary experience on the horizon.
