Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!!

Of course not fair to comment until final. But with that caveat aside...

I don't know y'all, they had me until the furniture. Something not quite flowing/cohesive with that look at the moment, in my humble opinion.
Agree. I've been staring at the pictures for far too long trying to figure out what looks so wrong. I think for me it's the pattern on the carpet is massive compared to the furniture, like the flowers are bigger than the chairs so the chairs almost look fake to me (I think?). I dunno, there's something that seems off to me there! I do love the carpet though, so maybe it's just the furniture I don't like at the moment.

Totally! I loved the carpet... until they put furniture on it. Now it feels all sorts of visually messy.
:-)

I do concede there's a difference between how things look/feel in person vs. the singular focused looking down from the second floor still photos - which no matter the design can sometimes bring into focus things the eye/brain just doesn't see in person.

Completely agree! I think the carpet is lovely. The furniture is lovely. Together.....the scheme is off. The scale of the flowers against the furniture is off especially given the lighter colors. If you look at the large piano over the large scale medallion flower thingy, it looks more balanced. The individual chairs feel like a "where's waldo" against the large scale flowers of the rug. Definitely too visually stimulating like your eyes have nothing to anchor on and focus.

I’ll be at GF 10/29-11/2 for DGD 1st trip. Come on bar get done already! I feel having a drink in the lobby better than taking the baby to enchanted rose😅

I like the furniture. Usually colors blend better at floor level. I also like the details and such on the new furniture.

However 9/10 times I like anything new.

I am disappointed no gingerbread house this year🥲 Between Nov, Dec and NYE I have seen that GB house and taken a picture with it for years.

On a side note :if dd and I at MNSSHP on 10/31 and 2 men and a baby left in the room is room service available in the villas? I think so?

Have to agree with GADisneyDad. It looks like they went to a yard sale
and bought a bunch of stuff that doesn't go together. I also think the
carpet pattern is so busy that the furnishings should not be in so many different colors.
But as others suggested, maybe it will be better in person. I should go and see....yes, that
should be my priority.

I think it looks soooo much better now. There is more furniture, but honestly with new bar they will probably need it.

I agree with all of the bolded statements!

The scale of the new carpet, especially how vivid it is compared to the old one, combined with all the extra furniture, makes the space slightly jarring from a bird’s-eye view.

I’m guessing it’ll feel more natural at eye level, and the furniture might not seem so cramped once the bar is actually open.

My 1st thought with the furniture in place was it looks so busy. Too many small individual pieces all over. But then I remembered, there’s usually people all over, so you won’t see a lot of the rug & furniture anyway. Hoping it looks great in person.
