Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

We are scheduled for a trip to the GF in mid September as a 3-night pre-cruise stay. We snagged a GF TPV reservation, but we have been struggling with asking to stay in Conch Key or Boca Chica. I know that this may be a personal preference, but can anyone weigh in with their opinion as to which would be best? We are not mobility restrained, so that isn't a factor. I guess we are looking for the best view of the MK castle, Space Mountain and the monorail. Do others think that the boat dock is annoying (thanks for your opinion kyleene!)? Are all Conch TPV rooms on the 4th floor spectacular? Is asking for Boca TPV rooms risky due to their various position along the waterfront, etc.? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello! We just booked a room for April 2026 using a BB offer (yay!) and got a great price. The room category is "Deluxe Studio - Preferred View." Can anyone tell me which building, or buildings, the room is likely to be in? I tried using the TP Room Finder, but the categories there are confusing ...

Thanks!

My pleasure.

That’s the original DVC building with room on the inside L shoe facing the lagoon, great view of EWP!

Here is WDW site.

Now it’s a Murphy bed vs a pullout queen.

At GF building isvless important , the floor for me more important.

Sago, Conch and BC floor 5nhave dormer ceilings and enclosed balconies. Floor 4 outer rooms are the same. Sugar Loaf is only 4 floors high so 4 and 3.

Look at any picture of buildings. You can see the difference of the balconies. Also 2nd floor has a normal sized but low enclosed balcony;

For me it depends on season, if it’s too cold or hot I prefer to request building, if I want a balcony choice then I request that,

You need to call or use chat feature to do this because it’s not an option when you online check in.

These are SL but you can see balcony above door 2nd floor enclosed, a normal balcony and dormer upper floors.IMG_4313.pngIMG_4312.png

Thank you Trisha! You have given me something to consider that I haven't thought of before - my preference would be an upper floor, non-dormer balcony/room! I don't know if I'll get my requested TPV room, but I'm going to call an CM and request an unobstructed 3rd floor (TPV) room in Conch Key. ( Why in the heck would they plant trees in front of TPV rooms facing the MK?) I realize that this is a very specific request, but who knows, it can't hurt to ask. At first I thought that I wanted the Boca building (or even Sago Cay), but I am now settled on Conch (sigh,I think). I know that my concerns are really first world problems, but this is a special bucket list trip and I would like to approach it with my preferences going in. I'm already beyond overthinking this. I really appreciated your response/help.

Requests are still requests. You don't want to be disappointed. I often request Conch Key, and got Boca Chica one time and was let down... but then I learned both are great, I just like Conch Key more. Boca Chica has more dramatic views, better view of electric water pageant and we could even see Epcot in the distance. Conch Key feels more tucked into the monorail and I prefer the walk along the marina to get to Gasparillas. Boca Chica is closer to pools.

Thank you PinkPixel! I'm going to try for Conch Key, I realize no promises!

We'll be staying at GF next week in a Theme Park View room (my wife's dream stay). Is there a way to listen to the fireworks music in the room?
