I picked up a few of the crossbody purses as well. TOO CUTE. Already had a few of the backpacks, ears, scarf... and ornaments, and a couple of the GF teapots (adorable). Alas, no luck for me on the gold tumblers, so I'll be asking my CM DD to be on the lookout for those. Not that I need every single piece of GF merch (okay, maybe I do.... LOL). Here's another pic of the loungefly crossbody for anyone who's interested.Already went into the store… plenty of GF Loungefly bags available… and of course, I had to get one!!Have a few crossbody bags as well. No GF Ornaments, though.

We ran into those same three characters today at the WL. We went over there for lunch.Ran into some friends on the way to MK!
Boca Chica has been refurbished and it is decorated in the same style as the rooms at Big Pine Key. I can post some pictures of the Boca Chica standard rooms soon. They are really nice.Does anyone have any pictures of the standard refurbished rooms? Is it true that all the standard rooms in the outer building are getting refurbished?
I can’t seem to find anything searching around the Internet with updated pictures. We are booked for an “outer building lagoon view,” and I am wondering if that will be updated when we go (either January or February)?
Please forgive me if this has been asked already, but I can’t seem to find the specific info I’m looking for.

I just got back from my stay in the newly remodeled Boca Chica. While I'd seen photos of the Big Pine Key building reno and knew what to expect, I found that I liked the reno even more in person. The lobby and the rooms are beautiful - more modern, clean, fresh, and pretty without being overly fussy/feminine. I personally always liked the "old" rooms, but I definitely prefer the renovation. Practical matters: we had more than enough room for storage, plenty of USB outlets, some very nice headboard reading lights, other nice and varied lighting options. The entryway table (kind of like a console table) with bench underneath was used as a dining table by my teen/young adult "kids". My kids unpacked into the 4 drawer dresser and had plenty of room. Closet space was good. I'm picky about paint, wallpaper, artwork, and I liked them all. I appreciated the Mary Poppins touches (especially the penguin on the chandelier - too cute!) The sliding door to the toilet/shower area is a big improvement over the old door that opened into toilet area with little room to spare between the door and the toilet. Sounds weird, but if you've been there, you know. I'm attaching some room view photos - Boca Chica room 8302. (Garden View Room - Building 8, 3rd floor, room on the end next to Big Pine Key). Edited to add: one very minor point... the proximity of Boca Chica to the Courtyard Pool Bar is a nice plus if you want to run down for a drink or sandwich. They don't have all the food that the Beaches Pool bar and grill has, but they have some sandwich/chip options - their Caprese sandwich is really good.@trishadono shared pics a few days ago HERE.
Yes I'm replying to myself, because it dawned on me that I had a photo of some of the Mary Poppins touches including the artwork and the penguin on the chandelier. Do you see him? Bird, bird, bird... penguin! (Pardon the angle, I was lying on the bed looking up when I noticed him)I just got back from my stay in the newly remodeled Boca Chica. Are you enjoying your stay? We loved the new rooms and felt it impacted our trip all good.I really like the artwork in the remodeled room.
Thank you! I did not realize there was a penguin on the chandelier.I stood on the bed to get a picture of the penguin in the chandelier. It is a little hard to see it.

I hope they’re not starting anything major right now! I was planning to just avoid the whole area towards the boat dock when we’re there at the end of the month/New YearSome exterior work being performed on the main building…

The only work that we saw being done at the main building was the one area in the picture above, and it was just some scrapping and painting.I hope they’re not starting anything major right now! I was planning to just avoid the whole area towards the boat dock when we’re there at the end of the month/New Year! If it’s just like when they replaced the tile floor on the 3rd floor balcony, it’s really no big deal, so I hope it’s something small! The new tile on the balcony is so pretty IMO!
Me too!
One of my favorite things! Although overall, just walking in the GF main building is an automatic happy feeling for me, especially at christmas time. I have not been able to snag even a GV room at the GF for our trip this month, but I did switch my resort around a couple times and think we are finally settled at the YC. But no worries and I have an entire night planned where we'll shop at the GF and then walk over to MK on a night that it's open until 11pm.
