I have read all I can find on this hotel but I'm looking for some first hand accounts. Did you love it? Are there any neat things to do that I should look for? We are going for our visit in May and have booked a downtown disney view which looks so neat. I'm anxious to hear anything anyone can share. :)

Fantastic choice!! The GC is beautiful and the rooms are lovely! The bathrooms allow plenty of space and the beds are comfortable. You will feel pampered there! :cloud9:

Oh no...you have officially entered the "dark side" :rotfl2: Once you stay at GC, you will never want to stay any place else.

The grounds are beautiful, just talking a walk around is nice. The pool is great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Turn down service at night (with little chocolates on you pillows). The last time we stayed we had a very nice plat screen TV and DVD player in our room (we did not have that the first time). Free internet service (this was important to the DH :sad2:).

The thing I loved the most (with my two small kidos) was how centrally located it was. You are right there at DTD, DCA is right outside and DL is right down the way. It makes things so easy.

I have been going to DL my entire life. I never really cared about where I stayed...it was just a place to sleep....well that has now changed. I have been turned and I am not sure there is any going back

I have no doubt you will have a great time! :cool1:

I must say I completely agree with this statement! Been going to DL for YEARS - AP holder and live nearby - We stayed at the GC once when our house was being fumigated (darn termites) so we stayed there. I must say, I have been dying to go back! One of the nicest hotels I have EVER stayed at - Truly is a great hotel and you will not regret it one bit!

This is the exact reason why Dh won't let me stay there. We go to DL waaaay too much to always stay there and he's afraid I won't want to stay anywhere else after GCH. The hotel has the same feel as the Wilderness Lodge at WDW. I LOVE that hotel. I've stayed there before and dont want to stay anywhere else. So I guess he has a point!!!!!

I do think that GCH is the best hotel at DL. However, I it isn't as fun as WL - no Whispering Canyon in the lobby. I kept thinking that while GCH is a great hotel, it could use something like WC to lighten up the atmosphere a little.

GCH is a lovely hotel. The rooms are a bit on the small side for a hotel that charges as much as it does. But, everything is well themed, we had wonderful mousekeeping (they would take our kids stuffed animals and line them up on the bed and then take pics of them), great service and super location. Plus, I found the pool area very relaxing. I was relieved to really like it as I hadn't enjoyed a stay at DLH a few years ago and was afraid that I wouldn't have a good time.

Storyteller's buffet breakfast was excellent and Napa Rose is deservedly the highest rated restaurant in Anaheim.

I LOVE this hotel. It is true that you will constantly want to stay there. Every time we go, I am always saying "Gosh I wish we were staying here" as I pass by. But then I couldn't go as often, so I'm okay with staying there only once every year.

It is beautiful, the atmosphere just feels cozy and special to me. I like being close to a few of my fave restaurants (Storyteller's, WWS) We had a DTD view right over the World Of Disney store facing towards DL. It was great, could open the door and hear the DTD music, close the door and couldn't hear a thing!

Have a great time, you are going when it's warmer so make sure to enjoy the pools. We just love it there.

Andrea

Oh come on, you gotta talk him into it. Especially with great $189 AP rates right now! It's a special splurge, I know I have to stay elsewhere to go often, but oh how I look forward to the GC trips!!!

Just do it, everybody's doing it! (Insert various peer pressure tactics here!)
