Wh-wha-what?! *spazzes* Dang, I hadn't heard of this yet, but huzzah!
Finally a movie that's not a sequel or thrown-together computer animation! Ths story sounds so cute, and I like that example of art. Is there any concept art or character designs besides the princess available yet? Ooh, I wanna know what the style will be like, I don't remember a Disney movie with a setting like that before (or if there was, I just forgot. Hah.) What about the head animators, are they already established animators or newcomers? Have their names been announced yet? *Crosses fingers for Sergio Pablos to be heavily involved* Do we know any of the lead character animators, or heck, background animators as well? What about the directors, the writers, and the producers? How many of Disney's animation team and other producers are actually still working for them? But I'm mostly concerned about the writers right now than anything else- I want names! At this point, the one thing I want more than anything else in a movie is a decent story, which I KNOW Disney is still capable of doing, even if they don't often do their best. Here's hoping this movie's creators expend more energy on making the best movie they possibly can as opposed to making one that's marketable, because the potential is definietly there.
I can see where the controversy may be coming from, though; a lot of people are likely to be troubled by the setting, I mean... New Orleans? That's still a very sensitive subject to most people. But if it's handled in the right way, sensitively and not awkward, I do think it could be alright.

GAAH! RANDY NEWMAN! *twitchspaz* He's absolutely brilliant, the icing on the cake! *Now very much wants to hear the soundtrack* <3333333
EDIT: *Smacks forehead* Heh, I just read the last part of the aritcle that apparantly I missed the first time reading through *stupid*. So they actually chose New Orleans as a setting to pay tribute to and help the city? That's just plain awesome. But I have to wonder then... where's the controversy coming from? Weird. Oh, and Clements and Musker directing and writing? For the friggin' WIN! Although I also just saw the release date... 2009. Oi. But with any luck, the lengthy wait will mean that theey're taking their time and putting as much effort as possible into the film. My faith in Disney's movie making area is being steadily restored.
