Disney's ending the hiring freeze!

Whew! I just read on animated-movies.com that WDW is hiring again to prepare for the busy summer season! What a relief...I'll be doing a character audition in a little over a month.

Whew!!!! That is indeed EXCELLENT news!!!

Good luck with your character audition next month, Angie... I know that you will get it. Let us know which character you will be, and at what park.

I am transferring from the stores to the parks in June as we are moving to Clermont, and will find out by June 1st where I will be. I have been sweating out this hiring freeze, but my recruiter told me that she felt they would start hiring for summer soon. I put in for attractions or merchandise, and am hoping for a fulltime position, but will take parttime.

Again, good luck, or rather "Break a Leg!"

Angie: You are living my dream. Have a blast at your audition. I freak at audtions. I hope you get the character you want. You'd be great as Belle. I have always wanted to be Belle, but I am too dark skinned and my hair is too light. Break a leg, and keep us posted.

When I heard that a little earlier today Angie, I thought of you! So glad to hear it!!!

Oh, I'm not going to try for a face role until I've lost a little weight. (don't scoff at me- it's true!) They only let you try for that once a year, so I'd better make the best of it. As it is now, I'm at least a size too big to fit into one of Belle's costumes. I've heard they only go up to a 10, and I'm a 12. I know you all think I resemble Belle a lot, but I'm not so sure Disney will agree! I'll probably end up as a chipmunk for a while since that's my height range. I'm only 5' 3 1/2" I tried for face roles once before and didn't make it, but I've heard they've since lowered the height ranges for the princesses to include my height so maybe I'll have a shot this time!

I saw the article in the Orlando Sentinal. 5,000 total employees in Orlando, all theme parks, with the most at WDW. Good news, Angie.

I've told AngieBelle probabaly millions of times, this thing (the hiring freeze) would pass quickly. Disney likes to do this.

She is so worried about all of this, including not being able to be a character. That's easy for a performer like her, she has no problem getting this opportunity to try out, and she will do fine. believe me, I've seen worse get into characters that should have never belonged.
