We are cruising on the Magic Easter week and want to do a beach day on Cozumel. I am thinking of booking Disney's beach excursion. I have not read much on these boards about Disney's excursion. Does anyone have opinions on this excursion? Also, does anyone who did the excursion have photos of the beach? Thanks in advance for your help!

WE did the Disney Beach Break excursion. Cost $180 for four!!! Not worth the money. Don't get me wrong, we had a good time.....but $180 for the beach. My parents just returned from Cozumel and they went to Paradise beach, $12 taxi ride to a FREE beach and they had a great time!!!! They said the beach was beautiful, clean and very friendly. They would highly recommend it to every one. We are going there in April!!

hopelea, I know the excursion is expensive, but I am also concerned with crowds since it will be Easter break. The last thing I want to do is get to Paradise Beach and not be able to get a chair. Doesn't Disney's excursion guarantee a beach chair?

Not sure if they gty a chair. We went in October and there wasn't a problem. They had a special area roped off for Disney guests. Special seating for Disney guest while eating! It is a nice excursion. I liked it because I don't like to venture off on my own much!!

This is a difficult decision for us. My wife really loves the beach and I like to plan excursions that eliminate uncertainty. We were "burned" by a less than honest tour company in Cancun last year. If we do Disney's excursion, can we leave on our own if we really want to or I am I stuck until the scheduled end?

I went to Paradise Beach last week. We got off the boat at about 1030-11am and got a 12 dollar taxi to the beach. There were about 3 other ships docked where we were and a couple more docked where Paradise Beach is. We arrived at the beach at about 1130 and there were plenty of empty chairs. The beach is nice and there is a pool with a sit up bar right where the restaurant is. I dont think too many people know about the pool. There was only 1 person in it. I then left for Chankanaub for my dolphin excursion. My son loved Paradise Beach. It has jet ski's, a blown up iceburg you can climb and beautiful water. I wouldnt spend the money disney charges for that beach. It is so easy to catch a cab and go...:)

We just got back from the Magic Western Cruise and did the Cozumel Beach Break. We don't usually do the ship sponsored excurisons because they are usually overpriced and dissapointing but figured this would be a good one to do with our 3 year old daughter.

It's advertised as 5 - 5.5 hours but we maybe had 3 hours of beach time by the time we got there. We met at 10:30 AM on the boat and didn't get to the beach until 12:30 PM. The tour company running the excursion seemed somewhat disorganized with their transporation, etc. The open bar and buffet that is adverstised is horrible. The food was nasty with nothing really appropriate for kids to eat. The open bar served watered down drinks and only draft beer and didn't seem very clean. For the money, I would have expected a little more.

You are segregated off into a crowded, tiny section of the beach. You can obviously move around to other parts, but it was not what I expected based on the brochure description.

We were dissappointed enough to complain when we got back on board and they did give us 35% off the cost. I would stick with what we usually do - get a cab ride to a nice local public beach. Even if you have to pay an entrance fee and for lunch and drinks, it will be cheaper and you'll probably have a better time.
