Hmm. With al this talk about the busses, would it be better for us to request Castitas in our online check in? We originally selected Cabanas, now wondering if we should change? LOL, will probably end up with Ranchos since I have been going back and forth between the other 2!

We requested Cabanas 8a standard and got upgraded to Casitas 1 preferred. Anyone arriving this week should request Casitas due to the covered walkways, since a tropical storm is heading for Central Florida midweek.

It's my understanding that Casistas are all "preferred" rooms. So if I booked standard room, I'm assuming I would have to hope for some pixie dust to be upgraded to Casitas.

I was thinking one or 2 of the buildings had standard, but I could definitely be wrong!

Casitas 1, 2, and 3 are preferred. Casitas 4 and 5 are standard.

I would definitely stick with Cabanas. The Cabanas bus stop is awesome.

Even though not all of the Casitas buildings are preferred, Casitas is not one of the request options when you do the online check-in. I guess it's because they try to put most of the convention-goers there. We were in Casitas 5 on our last trip and it was our first time in that section. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but the CM was able to tell me the room number started with a 5, so I knew it was in Casitas 5 and was happy to wait for it.

Our first stay at CSR, we were in Cabanas 9B - many many years before Business Class came to be. It was a great location. We were there just a couple of years after 9/11 and the parks were pretty dead in Sept back then so we had no trouble getting the bus at El Centro. Since then, it's definitely become a lot more crowded. For this coming trip, CSR was the only Mod with military-rate rooms available for our particular weekend, so maybe it won't be too crowded.

They are just adding the fence around the pool

A couple of pool fence pics available on Buzz's FB group. It looks like they are burying a dark green chain fence in the foliage and then doing (limited?) decorative gates in some areas of the pool.

Sorry to do this, but w./out looking through the last 276 pages, is there a summary of the CSR construction? Our trip is for last week of April 2017 and will be our first stay at CSR. Really hoping the pool won't be closed? Thanks.

30 more days for me! I'm looking forward to staying at CSR for the first time. I called yesterday to make sure our reservations were linked and that they showed that my sister and I requested adjoining rooms. Yes, I know it's just a request. Fingers crossed they can make it happen.
