Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

There is no specific internal shuttle. The only bus that will go to the main stop (El Centro bus stop) before it leaves the hotel is the disney springs bus. Any other bus that is going to MK, AK or HS goes around the resort and then leaves before the main stop. That is because it hits it first when it comes back from those locations. For Disney springs it makes the main stop El Centro last then leaves the property.

There is an internal shuttle. It stops at all 4 stops and goes to Blizzard Beach and back to all 4 stops. You can also use the Park buses which goes to stops 2, 3, 4 and 1 and the Disney Springs bus which goes to stops 1, 2, 3 and 4

I think there is confusion with the word internal shuttle. To me that means a bus that specifically just goes around the resort only and does not leave the property. That does not exist. Yes there is a bus going to blizzard beach and then it also goes around property just like the other but I have never seen a bus that just goes around the property.

BB is 2 mins from CSR and this bus is considered an internal shuttle. It's labelled internal bus on the sign at the El Centro bus stop.

Am looking at booking our holiday for Nov/Dec 2017 soon and will be staying on property for the first time. We finally decided on Coronado Springs and am very excited about going. I would look through the whole thread but that would take forever so just wanted to ask if there was a preferred area to stay within CSR that isnt too much extra in basic cost but is in a good location for me and my DW (no kids so not worried about closeness to pool) would like to be close to amenities though :) Thanks in advance

Hi Joe,

There is no way of guaranteeing a room location without paying extra. If booking a standard room given your criteria I would request Casitas 4, but it's only a request and they could put you somewhere else. If you pay for a Business Class room or Preferred room it would secure a room close to the amenities, but that is an extra cost.

The best standard rooms are in Casitas 4, Cabanas 9A, 8A and 8B. They are only requests.

Coronado Preferred are in Casitas 1, 2 and 3. Coronado Business Class is in Cabanas 9B. Business Class comes with lounge access for breakfast and evening drinks and snacks included, so in general the uncharge from preferred can be made up in yogurt and sangria.

The bus stop may be labelled that way, but when we were there is December no such bus was seen. There is a bus to and from Disney Springs that stops at BB. It runs opposite the park buses so depending on which way you're going you can take either a park bus or a DS bus to navigate the resort.

As far as bus transportation goes you're likely OK for your week as the Game participants and their entourage's will be immersed in the Games over at ESPN during the day time.
If there are many stay overs the week we'll be there it may well be another story.
Quite a few of the Game participants are mobility impaired and the buss's are only set up to handle two, or three, wheelchair passengers.
I've said for many years that WDW needs to have a fleet of buss's for mobility impaired guests exclusive use.

I agree. That would eliminate the nasty stares the MI guests get and make the bus system run smoother. Possibly, it's an ADA requirement to allow transportation on the same vehicle.

It's possible this has changed. Our last time there was Dec. 2014 and there was a bus as I described at that time. It was also this way Dec. 2013 when we were there.

CSR does not have the internal shuttle like CBR does. If they had it, it has been discontinued as it wasn't there last May when I stayed at CSR.

I think it is a horrible idea. People complain it takes so long for 2 scooters to load on a bus, yet the solution is to have even more of them load onto 1 bus???

Rather, people should learn to have a bit of patience and not glare at other guests who may take a couple of minutes to board a bus.

It wasn't a smaller bus like the CBR one. It was a regular Disney bus with Blizzard Beach on the front. It started in Nov. 2013 and was still there in Dec. 2014 when we were there.

It's possible this has been discontinued, but I suspect people just didn't read the sign at El centro and realise this bus does that loop around the resort and over to BB and back.

Now they just say Disney Springs/Blizzard Beach, no separate BB bus.

I have really enjoyed reading posts in this forum and I am so excited to stay at CSR!

I booked a BB offer for Free Dining - going the second week in Sept 2016. I booked just a standard room and I have been calling to upgrade to a Preferred Room...no luck yet. A question for the pros here - do they typically have this type of room available when you check in?? Hoping that if I am not able to secure this room category before my trip, that I will be able to pay for the upgrade when we check in. Any thoughts/advice?? Kindest Thanks!

Depending on your room assignment, you may be better off NOT in a preferred room.

If you want pool and access to El Centro, the Cabanas buildings are better than the preferred locations in Casitas.

I hope you don't think I am too much of a nut - but I thought Casitas might be better because I am less likely to see a snake there...I saw one last year at Typhoon Lagoon and kind of freaked out. As I am typing this I realize how ridiculous this sounds - any thoughts, is it more "marshy" in the Cabanas section??

That sucks! That bus made it real handy to hit the water park for a couple hours or play mini-golf at night.

With the bus looping over to BB like that if you had the water parks pkg it was not much different than walking across the resort to the pool. You could use BB like the resort pool. It also made it real convenient to slide over for a round of mini-golf.

Keep in mind they only alot a certain amount of rooms for FD. So it's not just a matter of a preferred room being available, it has to be one that's slotted for FD.
