Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Here now and I'm not happy. I called twice to request casitas and requested it in the online checkin. They said they had no record of any request and I got dumped to the ranchos... The one place I didn't want to be. The second time I called they even said that they had my request on file. The resort is beautiful but I ain't happy. Any thoughts on what I can do?

Did you ask if there will be anything else available? Would you be willing to move in the next couple of days? I'd just nicely ask if it would be possible to move you as soon as something different opens up.

Obviously you understand that they can't honor every request if the resort is close to full. Someone has to stay in Ranchos. We don't like leaving it to chance so we pay for a Business Class room which guarantees a room in Cabanas 9B.

My requests at POP didn't show up either. Simply go to the check in desk and ask for a different room location. Mornings should be a good time to do so, as check in technically 3 pm and guests check out at 11 am. I've had no problems getting a different room, when I've asked.

I currently have two reservation numbers for our short December stay.

The first one covers the first 2 nights and was booked thru a BB from last year. The 2nd one is for the last night and was booked using a Passholder rate (we recently decided to add one night but couldn't get the BB rate). Both are for a standard, business class room.

My concern? Having to change rooms for the last night. The CM I spoke with said I should have no problems staying in the same room as she linked the two reservations and they're both for the same room category but I don't necessarily believe that will be a guarantee. She also said to remind them at check-in about keeping us in the same room which I will do. Soooo..what are the chances that we'll be able to keep the same room and not have to move the last night?? Anyone been in this scenario before?

There is no way to guarantee you won't have to change rooms. But as long as your reservations are linked and you request to keep the same room, you've done all you can. We're 3 for 4 in being able to keep the same room.

Wow... So I went back to check-in and asked if I could pay to be upgraded to the casitas. I told them what had happened. I had an AMAZING cast member take about 20 minutes checking for me. Finally she got me a room in casitas 1. When I asked how much it would cost to upgrade she said nothing. I was floored. So after we took the treck from the ranchos (really do not like that place) to Casita 1. And oh my god is the area beautiful. And it's a freaking suite! And right outside the window is that beautiful big fountain. I cannot believe how amazing it is. I went back to the cast member and thanked her about 20 times. I took her name and I'm gonna try to find a manager to praise her. Cart members like that are 100% what make this place so magical!

Oh and Coronado is fantastic! ...but I will never step foot in the ranchos again!

Wow... So I went back to check-in and asked if I could pay to be upgraded to one of the nice casitas. I had an AMAZING cast member take about 15 minutes checking all around the casitas. Finally she got me one and when I asked how much it would be she smiled and said don't worry about it. I was floored. That's great that it worked out for you. That tells you how full the resort is that they put you in a $1000/night suite. Enjoy!! :thumbsup2

We leave Sunday. I paid for a preferred room. I asked for casitas. What building should that be so know I'm not getting told it's preferred when it's not. I heard this has happened b4.

Preferred rooms are in Casitas 1, 2 & 3. Have fun!

I just read over on Buzz's site that they have a new breakfast setup and different night offerings. Alcohol is the same, but they added Corona. Anyone there now who can confirm/post photos?

I tried to find that info and couldn't. Can you post a link to the thread? Thanks.

It's in the forums. Comments Questions and trip planning > Changes coming to Cocino Lounge.

I was waiting some pictures but they added col cuts (salami, cappicola), veggies, antipasto, bread and cheeses (provolone & another type) Also Corona beer has been added.

If you look there he also has some photos of breakfast that I just noticed. IDK how to post a link here.

I'm new here. What's wrong with the Ranchos?
we were in the cabanas in May and checked out the Ranchos. We liked them because they looked quiet and were the second stop for the bus. Now if I was there in 100 degree weather in the summer than the look wouldn't appeal to me but otherwise they looked fine! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

It's totally personal preference. Each of the sections has pros and cons and people weigh them differently. A lot of people love the Casitas and it's my least favorite section :)
