Resort Thread Disney's CONTEMPORARY Resort

Does anyone know where the cabanas are at Contemporary? I’ve figured out there are two at the leisure pool (I’m pretty confident about this) but the internet is giving me conflicting answers on the feature pool - either 2 cabanas or 2 patios or none.

There are four cabanas, two at the feature pool and two at the leisure pool.

If staying in the villas on points, can we use the community hall in other resort?

We rented one of the ones at the leisure pool last year and it ended up being the absolute best day of our vacation. We don't have kids, so there was no need to be near the "action". It was so quiet over there and we had such a great server.

Some basic/stupid BLT questions...

1) Are these "old style" elevators (just up/down buttons on the outside and floor selection on the inside) or "new style" (where you select the floor on the outside and you're assigned a specific elevator?
2) Do the Theme Park View rooms have power outlets on the balconies?
3) Speaking of power outlets, what kind of outlets (if any) are near the head of the beds?

TIA!

The elevators are just regular old-fashioned elevators with an up/down button. Mickey, Minnie or Goofy announce the floor though. 😃

Not sure if there outlets on the balcony.

In the middle of the beds and on the nightstand/end table on each side there are 1 or 2 regular electric plugs and 1 or 2 USB outlet—I believe.

Ahhh, nevermind my answer. I just realized you were asking about BLT, not the CR. 🤦‍♀️ So sorry to confuse you. My answers were for regular tower rooms at CR, I have no idea about BLT.

BLT does not have the new fancy Elevators. The Grand Destino Tower at CSR has the call panel out side of the elevators where you type in the floor you want, and there are NO floor buttons in the elevator.

Next stupid question (knew I forgot one)...

How long to budget after calling for luggage for it to appear at the room (BLT)?

Plan on check in day is to arrive ~10a, drop bags with luggage services, then go to water park.
We have an 8:30p reservation at HDD, probably leave BLT for the boat around 7:15. Obviously we'll need to change from swimwear, but all our clothes will be in the suitcases. So, what time do we need to make sure we're in the room so we can start getting dressed around 6-6:30 (depending on the person)?

I'm going to assume allow an hour, but is that too long or about right (it will probably be ~20 bags for 7 of us).

Again, thank you.

I can give you our experience, but times change according to how busy bell service is at any given time. We waited approximately 15 minutes for our bags to arrive. This was on a Saturday, late afternoon.

OK. So we can budget 30 min hopefully. We might get 3-4 hours at the Waterpark. Lol

where is the best location to view the magic kingdom fireworks from at the Contemporary?

Jumping into the Contemporary thread will quick, just to say that I kicked off the summer in a new refurbished BLT 1 Bedroom. I was shocked at how much I liked BLT. (Is there a BLT thread?) Anyway, BLT is now up there in my "tops", The new decor is fantastic. Nice blend of refined paired with pops of colorful energetic "Disney".

Ha, yeah, Disney moved me to a 2BR there summer 2020 in all the reopening mess. As an ardent hotel side Disney guest, I was secretly like “wow, this is kind of awesome here”. lol.

Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Same! I do a ton of resort time and kept saying "Wow, this is so awesome". I feel like kind of an idiot for never trying it before. The walk to MK cannot be beat, the BLT pool is very pretty, and it was so easy and fun to run up to the California Grill bar for a sunset cocktail and appetizer dinner. I'm a big fan of doing the same at Narcoossee's at the GF, but oh, that goat cheese ravioli at Cali Grill is the bomb. And the view is incredible.

My daughter is a foodie. Is there a snack that is unique to the contempotary?
