yes they have internet access BUT as you can imagine surfing the net is limited. I brought my laptop so I could email pics to my family, but the router is pw protected and to get access you have to pay a fee(I think it's around 29.99). If you do pay the fee your laptop (wireless) is accessible all over the CR. I saw several ppl using theirs in the lounge(bar) on the 4th floor.

Can you still watch Wishes from the observation deck at the top of the CR? We have ressies for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse, and it would be great to watch Wishes before our dinner.

Just returned yesterday from a 9 night stay at the CR tower MK room.

I have mixed feelings about it. If anyone has any questions, let me know.
We stayed on the 6th floor in room 4233.

I would love to hear EVERYTHING: the good and BAD for your CR stay. I'm reading lots of "not so good" lately, and it has me a bit worried for our Feb trip (Tower MK view).

Mercy, if you mean the observation deck at the very top of the CR, that is reserved for diners at the California Grill. The deck on the 4th floor is open for all.

What's the view like from the 4th floor?

The bad for me, no refillable mugs like I was told there would be in an email from Disney, I was very pissed about that. And the soda they do have in the fridge are not very cold at all! Very lack of hot food to choose from at the grab and go, I don't like sandwiches, and I really wanted a quick hot breakfast once in a while. Didn't happen. I hated the lack of drawer space, it was only me and my 2 kids, we didn't even bother taking our cloths out of our suite case because there was only 2 drawers for cloths, the sinks were too low, and I'm only 4'11"!! My shirt would get wet on the bottom because it would end up in the sink when I was brushing my teeth. The air conditioning doesn't stay on, it's weird. If those were queen size beds in our room they sure didn't look like it. I have a queen size bed at home, and the bed I slept in was smaller then mine.

The good, it's a very nice short walk to and from MK. We walked it when there were long lines after the fireworks. Love having the monorail, it was so easy to get to and from epcot and MK having that right there. It will be hard to go back to busing after this, LOL!! It was nice to have the MK view, but not sure if I would bother getting it again. Some people may like watching the fireworks from their room, but it's not the same as being IN MK for the fireworks, that's just my personal feelings though. We did have a blast watching the afternoon lighting storms though.

I worried about the noise I hear lots of people complain about, I never heard any construction noise, or people noise, or Chef Mickey's while in our room, and we were on the 6th floor. We could feel the monorail running though, nothing that bothered me. The first time I didn't know what it was, I was laying on the bed and wondered why it was vibrating!!:rotfl2:

I personlly felt bad about spending the money I did on this resort at this time. I wish I had tried it after all the work was done. It's got lots of contruction going on on the 4th floor, and it's not pretty. And the lack of drinks esp. cold drinks was a big problem for me, and also lack of hot quick foods.
I'm trying not to let this stay at the CR sour my opionion of it for a future try once all the work is done.
If you have any more questions, let me know.

So my question is what are they going to do for those guests staying at Disney on the Deluxe Dining Plan where we are guaranteed a mug?

EXACTLY! We are on the DXDDP in Feb. GR called and said they would have them, even though I was certain that CR fan's info was correct that they wouldn't (and he was right). So now I'm waiting to see how they handle the situation.

We're on the same plan in June. Should be interesting to hear how they handle they it.

I have to agree with the whole 1st paragraph. I was in the Tower MK view 11th floor. The rooms "looked" appealing and I like the Flat screen LG TV, but that was basically it. NO draw space for a family of 4. The sinks sucked and splashed on you, and the frig. was small and didnt really keep your drinks cold. The GRAB AND GO Snack shop SUCKED!! $2.00 for sodas which was just coke, sprite, ice tea. Hot items were pizza, 1 soup and hotdog. They shouldve never set it up. The outdoor grill next to the pool had a better selection. No MUGS. The front desk said Mugs will be back when the Outter Rim Grill is finished in Dec 07.

I did like the view and because it rains so much in Sept. it was a treat to watch the fireworks from the balcony, and you could even hear the music playing from our side. It stormed for four nights straight. I actually liked the view better because you didnt miss anything. Inside the park you can see the fireworks if you want to stand with the CROWD of people at the castle, but after the first set of flares around the castle it gets real Smoky. I was better off on the platform of the train at the entrance(luv hopper passes saw them every night lol). The BEST view was on those raining evenings in our room from the balcony. If not for spectromagic I might of stayed in my room.

What is the Outer Rim Grill? Haven't heard about that? And they will have mugs?

The outer rim is the bar next to Mickeys Cafe. I meant to say the Food part of the Food and Fun Center was closed in July to be converted to a new table service restaurant on the 4th floor. It's scheduled to be completed in December but I was just there 9/15/07 and it doesnt look to be on schedule :headache: The front desk did say they would have Mugs there and fountain drinks.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

Here's my review from a separate post...

So our stay at the hotel was so-so, and here's the good and the bad breakdown.

The Bad
  • The elevators sucked and were very slow.
  • The staff didn't seem to care much about your concerns.
  • The pool was dirty (ducks swimming in it) and duck poop around the deck.
  • There were cobwebs around the entrance to our room with bugs in them.
  • There was dust and cobwebs in the room itself.
  • One of the sick faucets was missing it's head.
  • The automatic nightlight didn't work in the bathroom.
  • Two feet at the bottom of the sinks were missing and very Sharp.
  • The bar fridge was never cold, cool at best.
  • Cigarette butts would fall from rooms above ours and land on our balcony.
  • Our room (4238) was right about the monorail station where you load/unload. Although the monorail itself was barely heard, people's voices were very loud including the staff wailing "all aboard".
  • Cold water in your room (sinks and showers) didn't exist and the water smelled like sulphur.
  • Check-out was at 11AM, but before then housekeeping knocked on our door 4 times!
  • There was not enough storage space (drawers) etc. for clothes.

The Good
  • Our MK view was amazing and well worth it, we watched Wishes from the balcony twice on the nights we weren't at the park.
  • The mattress were very comfortable and the pillows plentiful.
  • The AC worked well and was a welcome white noise at night.
  • The curtains were wonderful and kept the room very dark.
  • The monorail was a huge plus and convenience, I have no idea how so many of you bus it everywhere.
  • We ate from room service once (private dining) and it was so yummy, really really yummy.
  • Chef Mickey's was pretty good and the breakfast was very good.
  • The gift shop was large and a great place to spend money.
  • It took only about 10 minutes to walk back/to the MK from the hotel. This was very convenient when the park closed or after parades when the monorail was packed!
All-in-all we had a good stay, but honestly I'm not sure we would stay there again. Plus we had a problem when checking-out, regarding our bill. The front desk manager actually said I was "threatening her" when I mentioned I would have to call Visa to dispute a room service charge. LOL that's a threat? That comment really heated me and made our "goodbye" very unpleasant. :sad2:

Oh well, next time I think it's the GF or Poly for us. ;)

I wish this forums had a poll because I would like to see How many people would return to the CR on their next visit?

There is a wide range of good and bad.
