Thought I would share a few pics from our recent quickie trip to The Contemporary. We had a great time and loved the resort! :thumbsup2 We only saw one splashing of "poop" at the adult pool, other than that, it was clean. The worst problem was not the ducks, it was the very noisy crows!

I have other pics if anyone wants them, just PM me, I'll send them :)

We stayed in the Garden Wing, had a Garden Deluxe King.

Wow, nice pics! Your room was so much nicer than our "old" tower room we had about a year and a half ago!! Very nice...thanks for sharing!

Funny that you had one in your garden room but we didn't in our MK View tower room. Weird. Maybe they are hit and miss?

Duluxe garden rooms are bigger and cost a bit more. That is probably why they have a DVD player.

We just returned and were in the Garden Wing, Deluxe room with king. We had a DVD player.......The room was just FANTASTIC! We had a great time!

OHHH! We check into one of the deluxe rooms next week. I would love any info. How was it specifically? Did you take any room pictures? I can't see the ones you posted for some reason. I will pm you. Is there a microwave? How was the bathroom? Thanks for any help, Marriedmyprince

I have pics above these posts. There was no microwave, bathroom was great, separate shower, if you want more pics, PM me.

As for it costing more....it was a bit more, not much though, the reason we went this way was because we wanted a King Size Bed. Not sure exactly, but it is like upgrading to a King ($20.00 more approx?)

We just returned from our 7 night stay.
I can see why some people really like the CR, but I don't think it will be an option again for us for at least a few years. With 2 of our children being under 4, I did not find it a very feasible option as far as storage and safety. I know it is all personal preference, though.
This AM we were able to get to the MK in about 15 minutes via Monorail. The walk, pushing a stroller at a pretty quick pace was a bit over 10 minutes.

The Contemp Grab n Go opened on the 9th as stated. The options are just ok. While we were there at the Food and Fun Center and the Tempo, we were able to see a few people us the YOMD mugs, so I guess at least some people were successful at using them.

Our room was not cleaned to our satisfaction many days. We had to ask multiple times for more towels, and yesterday we found smallish lizard in our room. :scared1: Actually, our 3 yr old found it! After we sort of trapped it, we called Housekeeping and the front desk to warn them so it could be taken care of while they cleaned. When we returned, our room was cleaned, but the lizard was still there.

We asked for turn down service on our first day for our stay and got it our LAST night. That was a disappointment.

Overall we were a bit disappointed. Sad to say it ,though.

Wow I just got back this morning and sorry to hear you had so many issues. I was in the Tower Room 11th floor 4741. The service was Fantastic. They even straightened up my two girls mess(twin 4yrs old). They changed all the towels and even exchanged a comforter that one of my girls wrote on with crayon. The towels were fashioned into mickey ears and swans. I order room service twice and they were on time and the food was excellent. We even celebrate our daughter b'day. They gave us two cakes(mickey ears brown cakes)with M&Ms, 8 balloons, chocolate puzzle, and a signed B'day card with The princesses photo and signatures.

All in all I found the service to be very good. I called before leaving to the Parks each day and they had the rooms cleaned prior to our return. IF YOU HAVE small kids I reccommend calling each day so they put you on the top of the list!! One day we returned within 2 hours (bathroom break) and the room was cleaned and vaccumed.

As far as food. Bring as much as you can the Grab in Go was not adequate for small children and it's way over priced!!

We leave for the Contemporary next week, I remember reading somewhere(probably on here) about artist of the day, but I can't really remember much about it. We have a 6 year old who loves coloring, drawing etc. Can someone please give me info on artist of the day? Thanks!!!

I just returned from CR tower room 11th floor 4741. Wonderful stay cant wait for next visit.

1. Walk to Magic Kingdom. The Monorail takes you to TTC(Tic tran center), Poly resort, Grand Floridian all prior to the magic kingdom. It's packed by then and if you have a double stroller like I did your going to be standing. The walk is great exercise and it doesnt take 10mins. I timed each walk(Moderate pace with stroller) we went roughly 12 times(went back parades, spectromagic etc..) and
it took my wife and I about 5-8 mins each time.

2. Returning from Magic Kingdom take the monorail. The first stop is CR and it's usually empty by that time.

3. Bring snacks!!! Each room has a frig. The Grab n Go sucks. No variety on sodas, juices, or snack foods!! It's $2 for each.

4. Call room service prior to leaving if your concerned about your room being cleaned prior to return. I forgot too on 1 day and they cleaned my room at 2pm!

5. For parents with little tikes. Bring a toilet seat cover, and stool. The sinks were too high for my twin girls (4yrs old) and because they were flat and square the water splashed all over the place. The sinks look good but not very feasable for children. The toilet was large with an open ring so the girls were not comfortable. Luckly my wife brought a dora potty cover that fits small bottoms.

6. The crows are terrible. Especially around the pools!! The trees are full of them. If you have children like one of my daughters is allergic to down BE CAREFUL!! These birds do not fear us. I had to keep chasing them off and simply said forget the pool!! If not the birds its was ducks.

7. Try to get the 11th floor(tower rooms). The construction(inside next to the gift shop. It's the new food court I think) begins at 9am and runs through 5ish!! I could hear it up top BUT It was not loud enough to wake the little ones afternoon naps. IT IS loud on the lower levels.

8. Make all your "DINNER" dining reservations way ahead of time and I mean before you come down. The concourse steak house is open for breakfast and lunch but dinner was booked all week! The reservation counter showed me they are actually booked all month. FORGET CHEF MICKEYS. Im glad we booked 2 days there >>>three months before arrival. It's was great food and fun(breakfast and dinner)!!!! Forget the Cali. Grill. That was booked and it's a pain. You have to go down to the cons. desk on 2nd floor just to get access. Then if youre lucky you get a window with a view so you can see the fireworks.

9. If you book Tower MK view as for rooms 4741-higher. They are on the ends of CR(SW corner) They are the closest to the Mag. Kingdom and let me tell you the view of the Castle and Fireworks are INCREDIBLE!!!! The castle changes colors and makes a great night light for my girls!!! For anyone concerned all the TOWER rooms are renovated and look great!!

10. LITTLE ONES HOURS A MUST!!! Sundays and Wednesdays the have special "Little Ones" magic hours at the magic kingdom "FantasyLand". They are open at 8am for kids 5 and YOUNGER. Sure people cheat but not many. I went on both days and my kids rode Dumbo, Teacups, Carousel, PeterPan flight, Philarmagic and small world. Some them TWICE before the crowds arrived. It's much different then the magic hours because everyone staying on the resort has access. The little one hours were great. There were no lines!!!

Go to the Grab n Go. They have coloring sheet with 4 crayons. Write your name and room number on the back and return it to the grab n go. They pic from several for artist of the day. My two girls loved checking, and yes they frame the winners. We won one time LOL, so I had to go down to the grab n go every two seconds so the girls could see there colorings LOL!!!

I agree with you 100% are about #1 and #2. For #3 since my parents and I stay on the Atrium Club they always have food out during the day, as for #4 we never had that problem since we always can see where the housekeeping cart is. No comment about #5, for #6 I also noticed them outside the room flying, so it was not safe to go out on the balcony. For #7 last month our room was on the side where the construction is and you are correct about hearing the noise inside the room, #8 we don't make ADR's since most of our meals our offsite or various cs locations in WDW. #9 I think all the Magic Kingdom view rooms are amaizing, especially the ones cloest to the parks. Last month we were in room 4847, which is the 2nd last one towards the Magic Kingdom and I have no comment towards #10.

Hey btw thanks for all your help. The info in your prior threads were helpful. Im planning the next stay at CR and Im thinking of doing the Atrium level. Is the Concierge service worth the extra? What kind of food is included for breakfast and lunches? With two small children it could save me in the long run.

You're welcome and as for the question some people say the Club Level service is worth it and others say it's not. My personal opinion is if you plan to spend a lot of time at the Resort and in the lounge, so you can have all the foods they offer and taking advantage of the IPO service to make all you're ADR's before you arrive, then it's worth it.

As for the food offerings for breakfast there is cerial, Krispy Kreme Donuts, variou pastires, bagels and fruit and Coffee. If you're kids also like Chocolate Milk just ask a Cast Member for some and they will get it from the back room.

There is nothing you would call lunch food, expect for various snacks each day. For example they have Rice Krispy squares, Mickey Mouse Cupackes, Brownies and ect, along with cans of soda.

At 5:00 PM each day they serve two hot dishes during the Wine and Cheese Selections and then at 8:00 PM they have Cordials and Desserts.

We also celebrated a bday there and they did give us 1 balloon and the choc puzzle, but that is it. WOW! You got 2 cakes and all that other stuff--that is great. My 10yo would be jealous if I told him.;)
We did not have any towel animals/ears, etc like you either.
It just wasn't very Magical for us. I am sad to say it. I am bummed--I wanted to REALLY like the CR. It was just ok for us.

Thanks for the tips!

Is the Little Ones Hours temporary? I thought I remember reading somewhere that it was a "trial".

Thanks!

I've been contemplating a Magical Gathering with my extended family (12 people total) and definitely wanted to stay at the Contemporary because of its proximity to MK and its monorail access (after a busy day, its nice to simply get off at the first stop). I've tried pricing the hotel stay (4/7 - 4/12) with no luck. It seems they have no availability. :( Can someone enlighten me? Why is the resort booked solid (is it truly a "Wonderful Week at Disney)? Also, could you suggest a different resort with similar benefits?

Thanks!

Does the Tempo Grab N Go have refillable mugs?
No they do not. Last month a manager from the Food & Fun Center told me they will not be able to sell them, since they do not have the equipment to sell to sell fountain drinks. Plus after seeing the pictures on Allearsnet you could see they were only selling drinks in bottles and someone I know was there told me they did not have the mugs for sale.

My guess is they have a huge convention booked which is taking up most of the rooms and the other rooms were booked for families who are just there for a vacation. However my suggestion is to keep trying since April is a long time from now.

If you want another Resort on the Monorail then you could try either the Polynesian or Grand Floridian.

I have read all 180 pages and thanks for all the info. We have reservations in Dec. and I have a couple of questions. Do the tower mk view rooms have rooms that have king size beds? Does the new arcade have the games that give out tickets to collect for prizes? We can't wait for Dec. 90 days 1 hour and 30 mins. to go.

The Magic Kingdom view rooms have queen size beds and the new arcade does the have tickets which you insert into the ticket eater and you get a reciept with the total amount of points.
