We are going to have a rental car for our upcoming trip to the Contemporary.

I don't want to pay for daily valet parking, so I'm wondering how easy it is to self-park with the current North wing demolition/construction. I assume that many of those parking spots are gone as well.

Does anyone have any recent experiences? Will we have a place to park our car? :confused3

Thanks!

Good question :thumbsup2 We'll have 2 cars with us! I never even thought of that. Hopefully someone can help us :)

We didn't have a car but I think there was more then enough parking. There is still some over towards the north wing area and directly in front of the hotel... but like I said, we didn't drive so I don't know where "guest" parking was and where "CM" parking was.

We just got back Monday and the internet access was still free.

Thanks for the update. And thanks to everyone else for the replies

Amber I have been trying since end of April with no avability, well once a 2 bedroom suite showed up. I really want to try CR, I love the way the rooms look.

We stayed at the Contemporary the end of May. Since we live in Florida we had our car with us. When we checked in the hotel they gave us a sign to put on the dash of the car indicating we were hotel guests and the date of our departure. There was plenty of parking spaces. They also have valet parking (we didn't use that).

When my family and I stayed there last December we never had any problems parking. In fact we got a lot of spaces that were close to the Tower and I thought we had better luck that time then in the past when the North Garden Wing was still open and the other spaces were not blocked off because of the construction.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

Flagrandma, welcome to the DIS, thanks for making your first post the answer to my question :)

I didn't even think about the fact that even though there are fewer parking spots, there are also fewer guests now that the North wing is gone!

Is there any place at the CR that serves a counter service breakfast or some type of breakfast snack? We will be there during free dining and are wondering this with all the construction going on and places closing and moving, etc.

Hello CR fans! Kinda new around here but not new to disney. I was able to book CR Tower MK view for October 27th & 28th before we move into the villas and I am soooo excited. I was shocked I was able to get it right there at Halloween time. Can't wait to see Hallowishes from my balcony. I haven't stayed at the CR since I was a kid and my Dad took us. I don't even care about the construction issues as long as the room/view and California Grill is okay! :cool1:

Our arrival day we're planning on hanging out at the pool and not going to the park except maybe to MK to see the regular Wishes & Spectro on Saturday night...maybe. In looking at the photos online it doesn't look like there's many chairs & tables at the pool. Are they hidden somewhere?:confused3

No one knows this to be 100% but chances are the temporary counter service on the 4th floor location will only sell cold food itmes, the way it was done when the counter service places at the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge were closed. My family and I will be at the Contemporary before the free dinning period starts, so I will report what the temporary location will be selling.

There are a lot of chairs at the pool and they are all laid out around the pool.

My mom was telling me she read that there is supposed to be a 4th level observation deck where you can watch and hear Wishes. I knew about the one at the California Grill, but I never knew there was another one :confused3 Is that accurate?

Yes that is 100% accurate.

Yes that is 100% accurate.

YAY:banana: Thank you!!! You can hear it from there too?? Yay!! My grandmother has mobility issues, so she'll be able to watch Wishes much more easily from there rather than having to get over to the MK and fight the crowds :goodvibes You just made my day:goodvibes

You're welcome and to answer you're other question yes you can hear the music from there.

Once we get there, we'd like to go buy some bottled water, snacky stuff, etc... Our car is going to be so packed with wedding stuff that we can't really buy it before we leave (plus, we'll be shopping for other family members who are flying too,) and we don't want to ship it. Could anyone tell us where the nearest Wal Mart or Target might be? Even a big chain grocery store would work. Just something close and affordable? Also, If you wouldn't mind giving us some directions I would really appreciate it!!!! Thanks :goodvibes

We passed a WalMart on the way in from the airport, but I don't know exactly where it is. I'm sending you a PM.
