I don't know how I managed it but I just called and got a MK view room!! I am so excited I could spit! eeewww... well, you understand. :lmao: I can't WAIT! And since this room applied for a AAA discount, where the AKL one didn't, it's only going to cost us $220 more... for this PRIME location! Again... spitting! DH doesn't get my freakish excitment but I swear to you, when I look out our balcony and see that castle, I WILL cry. I just know it! I just love the MK! :cloud9:

Anyone have pics from a MK view room? I'd love to see what I'm in for!

Take pictures of your MK view room and post them on here when you get back. I will be staying there in Sept. and can't wait!!!

Congragulations on getting a Magic Kingdom view room, your going to love it. :thumbsup2

A couple questions regarding MK view rooms.
Is the castle lit up all night long? So if I wake up at 3AM, can I look outside for a quick glimpse before falling back to sleep?

Also, will I able able to purchase 2 drinks at the Outer Rim and bring them back to my room? Is there a 1 drink per person policy or rules against walking through the hotel and up the elevator with them?

For those of you wondering if the MK Tower room view is worth the money, here are some pictures to get you excited.
Click the small picture below, and it will go to a slide show of the view from our 12th floor balcony (including Wishes).
It was AMAZING!!!! And we will be back this September for the Tower MK view room again!

Here is my panoramic shot from our Atrium Club Tower MK view room Sept 06.
Make sure to keep scrolling to your right to see the entire picture.
This picture is also on Deb Wills site along with a bunch of the pictures I took of the Atrium Club.

Yes, it is lit up all night. The picture in my post above was taken around 2am.

I saw in ALLEARS.NET that CR's food court will be moved to the Outer Rim until 8/14. What happens then? We are scheduled 8/31-9/5. Will there be no food court? Not a biggie if there is not , but it does help to have one:hourglass
Here is the complete schedule of renovations which gives more information of the temporary counter service location by the Outer Rim.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

Triplefigs:
How did you get such a big picture???

I took individual pictures on my camera and then put them together in a panoramic shot. It's a feature on my Canon Powershot A620. I love it!

I think that picture shows exactly why the Tower MK view room is so wonderful. In Sept, I plan on doing the same picture but at night.
I think we are going to do the same thing with our digital camera, since we have a picture of the Magic Kingdom in the daytime. Even if we don't get a Magic Kingdom view room on the Atrium Club we can still go to the lounge and take the picture from there, so it's not like this can't be done.

You should get a nice shot off the 3 balconies in the Atrium Club!

I reads that there will be a Tempo Grab and Go until 8/14/08.

If you look at the upcoming schedule of renovations for the Contemporary you will see that the temporary counter service location is going to be open until next August, which is when Chef Mickey's Express (the new name of the Food & Fun Center) is set to open where the Concourse Steakhouse use to be.

Would you say it's a better picture from the 3 balconies compared to any of the Magic Kingdom View rooms? I personally don't see a difference, however you seem to know more about this then I do.

I think being up higher gives a good shot for pictures, but I will be happy with any MK view room we have in Sept (we aren't staying concierge this trip). The 3 balconies being in the middle should afford you a very nice shot!

Thanks for that info. I just realized if we are given a Magic Kingdom view we can take pictures of the castle at night from our room and then from the lounge. So if there are ones we don't like then we can delete them, which is a great feature of a digital camera.

I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on a good room in the wing. Also, my daughter is visually impaired so I am wondering if I should request a handicap room - thinking that maybe the larger spaces they offer may be of benefit to her?? Also maybe a room not to far from the main building since we will be walking back and forth to catch the monorail? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Are they getting rid of the Concourse Steakhouse? Or are they just moving it? I hope it is still going to be there. Thanks to anyone who knows.

They are getting rid of it. Apparently the Wave is going to have an Asian fusion inspired menu (although I thought the California Grill already kind of had that?) or maybe just straight up pan-Asian cuisine like P.F. Changs or something. I assume that calling it "the Wave" means its probably going to focus on seafood whatever culinary category it will be in.

I am kind of excited because the Concourse Steakhouse has never really appealed to me.
