Was there a line charge for the in room computers?
Are they just in Tower or CL rooms?

That's good to hear.....though DSO won't be thrilled that with our big vacation I'm worried about computer access to the DIS.....:rotfl:

She just doesn't understand priorities.

Did you hear anything about the Concourse Steakhouse closing or moving? Did you have a wonderful view and was it just a perfect vacation?

Our trip was wonderful. Wish the kids didnt get a cold and allergies but even with that we had a blast. With the drought and the smoke from the fire in GA DS9 was suffering big time with allergies.

Our view was magnificent! DS4 was the first to not feel weel so we call it an early night so he could sleep but we were able to go out on the balcony and see the fireworks so we felt the night was still complete!

I forgot to ask about the Concourse Steakhouse. We ate there twice and the food was awesome.

Chef Mickey was great too, we went down to eat at the Concourse but Chef Mickey had an opening so we got in there and the boys loved it! On occasion we could hear the noise from Chef Mickey but I wouldnt change my room because of it.

We love the remodeled rooms except the sinks are cool looking but they drain horribly!

The Fun Center was moved to the Fourth floor and DS9 had a good time and you can use Disney Dollars there you just have to ask them to change them for you.

The server at Concourse told us it is definitely a DVC they are building with 15 floors although until our last day we did not see hardly any activity with the construction site.

We arrived on the last Grad Night and I dont know if it was because our rooms were facing MK or not but the music and fireworks did wake us up. I took a sleeping pill because I have terrible insomina and the music woke me up and it was loud, but I guess the medicine helped through the fireworks but they woke DH and he said they were horribly loud.

Other than that we LOVED the Contemporary and the convienence of the monorail! DS4's favorite ride!

Sounds great. We put in a request for the 10th floor for our trip in 13 days. Hope we get it.

Do you have any pictures of the view from your room by any chance?

I do but I havent read how to upload pictures yet? Maybe I can read up on it soon. The night ones arent real clear but the day ones DH took the last day are beautiful!

We have stayed there twice in the last 6 months and both times there are ducks IN the pool. The first time we asked the front desk about it and they played it like they had no idea there was a problem. It was cold that week so we really did not push it with them. Fast forward to last weekend and there were the ducks again. They were IN the pool, near the pool, all over the place just hanging out. There was duck poop everywhere, on the tables, chairs, ground as well as around the edge of the pool. These ducks were very aggressive too! There was a couple with a little boy and they were "trying" to give him some finger foods and there was this duck that kept jumping at the little boy who was sitting in his stroller. The duck came very close to biting this child and the parents were very upset. I admit to being a germ phobe but duck poop is just not acceptable around humans. Our DD's and my BF's DD's were having to skip around the poop when they walked to and from the slide area. My youngest DD (4) was freaking out every time a duck came for a landing in the pool near her. Disney needs to get rid of this problem. We absolutely LOVE the CR but I would be very hesitant to stay there again if the ducks were going to be there. I know we must be tolerant of things in life but when it comes to a possible health issue we can not be too careful! Sorry to rant but wanted to see if anyone else had any problems from the CR ducks?:)

My girls had to swim around the ducks at WL, GF and CR. During out time at the Poly the pool was closed the entire time for sanitizing. Even the ducks wouldn't venture into it :rotfl: For the most part they're non aggressive unless they have little ones.

We are looking at staying at the CR in Sept. DH has a conference and the whole family gets to go if he does. YEAH:banana:

I thought we where the only ones worried about the duck issues with the pool. Last year at the poly, they did not clean the quiet pool at all. or if they did you could not tell. We asked about the health issues, and where pretty blown off. By both the life guards and the front desk. Glad to see they finally did something there.

Usewickhouse, we choose the CR, because of the duck issue at Poly. :scared1: Now they are at all the resorts around the lakes? Was the cr trying to do anything with the problem?

I was told at the poly, there are no health issues with the ducks and people, I told them, as a nurse I find that very hard to believe.

Now I don't want the pools closed in august either, but I don't want to get sick and ruin our vac. either? I hope they all address this problem.

Oh no, the pool wasn't closed because of DUCK issues, it was a human one. Apparently it was pretty bad too to warrant closing for close to 48 hours. :rotfl:

yikees! from what was in the pool and I don't mean the ducks themselves(just their excrement), they should of closed it. drained it, and disinfected it.

human, is just nasty. ducks bad enough.:confused3

NOPE...the first time the CM at the front desk acted as though it was the first time she was hearing that there were ducks at the pool. She was like "really ducks?" I have never heard of that before. She obviously was instructed to handle it that way to keep the heat off her butt. When we were there 2 weeks ago there were several Lifeguards on duty and they acted as though they never even saw those nasty ducks. They never once tried to get them out of the pool or the pool area. There were numerous areas with duck feces and the pool itself needed a serious cleaning. The bottom of the pool was covered with leaves and debris. I have never seen a WDW pool and pool area so dirty. I am planning on emailing customer service about this. In the past I have always received an email or postcard from WDW asking me to take a survey on our stay. I was just waiting to get one this time so I could make our complaints heard by someone other than the front desk but I did not get one this time. We all pay too much money on these vacations and our families deserve to use the pools and not be exposed to a health issue. Ducks like chickens carry salmanello (sp?) and humans can get seriously sick from it. I think children are more suseptible due to they never shut their mouth when they are swimming and coming down those big slides and then they swallow that filthy water. If ALL of us ban together and make complaints about the ducks then maybe, just maybe Disney will get rid of them. Until they do I will not be staying at the CR, POLY or any other hotel that I read on here that has ducks. I will stay wherever the ducks don't stay! My kids love swimming at the WDW pools so I will sacrifice the location, hotel and convience to stay where they can swim without the DUCKS!! Sorry for another rant on this...I will pipe down now and move on!
Thanks for listening...AGAIN!

Is the arcade part of the food and fun center? I thought I remembered reading that it was. Today I saw that the FnF center would be closed in Dec for refurb and that's when our trip is. Can someone clarify if it ( the gaming area) will indeed be closed or if it's not affected? If it's closed I may change my ressie (if I can). Thanks!

Recently the arcade opened up their new location on the 4th floor where the Fantasia store use to be. So it is no longer apart of the Food & Fun Center. Next year when the Concourse Steakhouse moves to the Food & Fun Center location on the 1st floor, they will move into the Concourse Steakhouse location and change their name to Chef Mickey's Express. Here is a list of the renovation schedule.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.
