Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

The only rental option currently is the Sun Tracker Pontoon boats, up to 10 guests, $45 per half hour. I am not sure about food and alcohol (I assume food is fine, probably not for alcohol) but hopefully someone that knows for sure will chime in.

More info: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/motorized-boats/

There are also nighttime fireworks cruises with a guided captain: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/specialty-cruises/
I haven't rented since the shut down, but before that you were able to bring food and drink onto the boat. I never asked specifically about alcohol.

You also need to take a life jacket for each person on the boat, but you do not need to wear them. Each resort has multiple sizes. You're also able to dock at other resorts and get off if need be.

Thanks for the help. Do you think it would be best to wait until a little closer to call? Our trip is at the end of September
You can do now or wait but give them 5-7 days prior notice to be safe,

If you email put your confirmation number , dates and last name in subject line.

Does the bus from CR to Hollywood Studios share with any other resorts or is it direct there & back?

Thanks. I was hoping it had its own bus. Which one does it pick up first on the way to the park?

I can't wait to stay in the main tower theme park view at the Contemporary in August. I have stayed at the Contemporary but never main tower or theme park view. We selected this as my mom will be going with us and we will probably be back in the room a lot. How is the view for Fireworks from the rooms there? Or do I need to put in a request for a certain floor?

Also, we will be going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review (6:15 pm) on our Hollywood Studios Day. Would it be better to go right from HS or to go back to the Contemporary to get there? If we go from the Contemporary, is the best method to walk to the MK and take a boat? We will have an ECV for my mom.

Thanks for any help.

I'd put in a request for "upper floor, close to Magic Kingdom". All TPV rooms have a good view, but higher is always better, IMO. Being more on the MK side of the floor makes for a bit better view as you're closer/have less buildings/parking lot in the immediate foreground, but that's overall pretty minor and not worth sweating that much (IMO). Odd numbered rooms allow you to see the castle from one of the beds.

As for HDDR... hopefully someday the Blue Flag boat returns that runs between CR-WL-FW... but until then, yes, walking to MK and taking the MK-FW boat is the easiest way to go, IMO.

If your timing is such that you don't mind going straight from the park, that's an option too. You could take a bus from DHS to FW, then you'll need to switch to another internal FW bus back to the Settlement Depot (which is where HDDR is located). You could also take a bus from DHS to WL and then take a seperate bus that goes from WL to FW, which drops off at the Settlement Depot. Obviously that's going to be a fair amount of bus transferring with may be less than ideal given you'll have an ECV in your party. Sorry if you already know all of this!

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for the info! It certainly does help!

Apologies if this has been covered (I did search but couldn't see anything), but does anyone know what the pool refurbishment in early 2023 is going to entail?

We were hoping to stay at the Poly for our once in a lifetime trip with the kids next October, but for a couple of reasons (lack of availability in the UK 2023 offer for our dates, the new tower being built) I'm thinking of going for a Garden View room in the Garden Wing instead.

I know the refurb will all be long done, but is it a total overhaul to match the retheming work in the rooms and lobby? Or more of a refresh - repaint, fixing broken tiles etc...? Just curious!

The chatter awhile back from folks who presumably know (???) was that it will just be regular maintenance, refinishing, pumps, surfaces, lines, etc. I keep hoping they are wrong and they take a wrecking ball to the place and put up a gigantic Incredi-slide and new Incredi-pool, but I assume it will in fact just be routine maintenance. I can’t recall the last time CR had any material pool maintenance closure, but it feels like it’s been awhile.

There is a pool bar at both the Contemporary and Bay Lake Pool. I think you need to go to bar to get your drinks.

What about food? Like if we wanted lunch by the pool… I know some resorts you can order from your chairs?
