Was anyone who recently completed their online check in able to make “room requests”? When I click on the drop down menu there are no options listed. Thank you!

I contacted online help. They said sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. They told me to call and make the request.

I know that most deluxe resorts have a "lounge" that you can pop into without a reservation for a casual meal and a drink. Does the Contemporary have one? We are not wanting to make a lot of dining reservations on our upcoming stay in March. Thanks!

The Wave (on the 1st floor) has a lounge and there is a bar/lounge on the 4th floor called The Outer Rim. There is also a bar and a lounge at The California Grill. The lounge used to be first come/walk-up, but I’m not sure how it has been operating since reopening/COVID. Hopefully someone who has been recently can chime in.

I was just tinkering around on the website, for whatever that is worth. I didn't exhaustively search every date combo, but in my few minutes of searching this is what it looked like to me:

Tower - Theme Park View - Can't book 4/4+

Tower-Lake View - Can't book 5/15+

Obviously availability is an inconclusive clue, but it may suggest something. Or it may not!
Thank you! My check-out day is 4/2. I called and they told me I just made it as the refurb. starts on 4/3.

Have they said anything about any restaurants or amenities being closed during the refurb? Will everything be open as usual with only the garden wing populated?

If the hours for the Wave Lounge are listed until 11pm, do you know if they serve food until then? Also, do they allow to go orders? We arrive into MCO at 9:45pm from the west coast so wondering if it will be possible to still find something to eat when we arrive. Thank you!
Check the APP. The Wave has "to go" for food but I never looked that late at night. Bottom of screen, center button, then scroll to the wave.

Ha! Ha! Ha! You're right! Didn't see it that way! ;)
You don't have to cook but the space of BLT is nice. It is much easier to get food and bring back to a room with a table and chairs. Also having a full fridge means the beer, water, wine and snacks will fit. You also don't have to run to get ice!

Lastly they have actual glasses! All the resorts I have been in have paper/plastic. I don't care to drink my coffee in paper and I don't care to drink my wine in plastic. THERE IS THAT AT LEAST! :rotfl2:

Might anyone know the current monorail hours? Any projections for the last weekend of February? Thank you!

When we were there last weekend, the Monorail hours were dependant upon park hours at MK (which I think is relatively normal). The posted opening time was 45 mins before MK opening and it ran 90 mins after park close (and ends at exactly that time).

Outside of those hours there is a "Resort Monoral" bus line that runs between CR, GF, and Poly. I can't speak for the morning hours (or reliability) of the bus, but it supposedly runs until 11 PM each night (according to the CMs I talked to at GF and Poly). Unfortunately, the bus was incredibly unreliable when we tried to use it to return to BLT at night. Monday night at the Poly we waited from 9:15 for a bus that finally showed up about 9:40. Saturday night at GF we waited for the bus from 10:05 until we eventually gave up and called a Lyft. The Lyft picked us up at 10:50 and we'd still not seen the bus at his point. Moral of the story is that if you're relying on the monorail outside of MK hours, just save yourself some trouble and get a Lyft/Uber.

This is very helpful. Thank you!

So if I were going to use it to get to Chef Mickey's from the Poly, I'd need to walk to the Grand to catch it currently?

You mean the monorail resort bus that is in service when the resort monorail isn’t open? It picks up at the Poly bus stop.

We booked a spur of the moment getaway planned for June- still contingent upon my husband getting his vaccine and some other factors.... but fingers crossed it all works out! If I'm being honest we prefer the Poly, and we've never had any desire to stay at CR (sorry CR fans!), as the theming has always felt cold and boring to me. BUT we prefer MR resorts, as we spend most of our time at MK, so we opted for CR as we could not pass up such an amazing deal for a Garden Room. I'm so glad we snagged it a couple weeks ago, as it appears no rooms left for our dates of travel as of Sunday :)

I've read about the planned refurb, and I just want to confirm that this is a room only refurb? Should I call Disney to ask? We plan on using the pool quite a bit, and restaurants within the resort. I'd be really upset if the pool was closed without notice.

I think in the long run, the fact that CR will have so many tower rooms unavailable, and that Poly will likely still be under construction is going to work out in our favor. With less guests at at CR, that means more seats available at the pools, more availability at restaurants, and just less crowds in general. I'm also thinking if there are less guests overall at the MR resorts it may work to our favor being in MK in the early mornings. Does anyone know when they are due to start opening parks 30 minutes early to resort guests?

Disney hasn’t really said much of anything in terms of details. It does seem to be room only by all accounts based on currently available information - but you just never know when and/or if Disney has something else up their sleeves. To me it doesn’t seem likely it’ll involve pools and other places - but then again it could be possible. Covid/limited spending aside, I am of the mindset CR’s pools are due a refurb at some point. But who knows of course.

As for the Early Entry benefit, Disney has not announced when that will start - just “later this year as part of our 50th anniversary....” so interpret that how you will. Nothing like vague Disney-speak. :-)

I hope your June trip works out for you!

Has anyone tried to upgrade at time of check in? If allowed, do they charge you the differende in rate at your time of booking or will it be much more (maybe based on a last minute non discounted rate)? We extended our stay by a night when the less expensive garden wing room became available but wondering if we will regret and want to move back to a tower room- if available, of course. We will be there the last weekend in February.

edit: sorry for the duplication...I just posted the same question as its own thread to possibly get more responses.
