there wasn't a clock in the CR room i had. hard to get used too. didn't need it to wake up but liked a clock to glance over and check the time.

We were at BLT in December and there was no alarm clock in our studio. We ended up buying one at Target when we made our grocery run.

Thanks for the replies re: alarm clocks & DVD players.
I like having both in the room.
I like to know what time it is, when I wake up.
We enjoying going to the community hall & getting movies to watch at night.

We arrive in 5 days! We received an email today that stated we could request express check-in and be able to go straight to our room when we arrive. Are there any benefits of this? We have to go to the desk and get birthday/celebration buttons to pick up and dining plan mugs, correct?

We did it our last trip at the CR and it felt really cool! The dining mugs you'll pick up at Contempo Cafe. You can swing by the desk quickly for your button.

Hi all, subbing to this thread. I'll be staying at CR 9/20-22/2016 in the Garden Wing garden view room with my parents, celebrating my dad's birthday and my parents' 45th wedding anniversary - they got married in 1971, the same year that the Contemporary opened! We are excited to stay in this deluxe and compare it to the YC and the Poly, where we have stayed in the past. I'll be staying 1 night at POR and then 3 nights at AKL solo before my parents join me at the CR.

From the garden wing, what is the fastest route to the monorail? Is it through the walkway into the 1st floor of the tower, then take either the escalator or elevator to the 4th floor, then the escalator up to the monorail?

Also, I had read that there is an outdoor deck on the 4th floor to watch Wishes. How do we get access to that? If we aren't eating at CG (and we don't have a TPV room), is this the best spot to view Wishes at the CR? Thanks!

Has anyone received the upgraded toiletries and bottled water in Bay Lake Tower? Or does this appear to be only for the Contemporary?

We were at BLT last week, I think we got a single bottle of Dasani in the room (not 100% sure), but had only small toiletries. Beautiful room/view though!

Checked in today in a Bay Lake view room in Tower.
Room is awesome, and previously reported toiletries and bottled water are indeed in room.

Thanks for the confirmation of the upgraded amenities. I hope you're having a magical stay.

Welcome to the thread, @dreamseeker9. How nice that you can help celebrate with your parents. Are they going to CA Grill for their anniversary?

The route you describe to the monorail is the quickest. The 4th floor observation deck is reached by going to the north end (nearest MK/BLT) of the 4th floor in the Tower and exiting as if you're taking the bridge over to BLT (the door is "behind" BVG). Right before the bridge, you'll turn left as you exit the door and you'll be on the deck. It is the best viewing spot at CR after a TPV or CA Grill:

Thus far, no one has reported these amenities, other than the water, at BLT nor at WL or BWI, the other two resort threads I frequent. Has anyone heard about this at any other Deluxe or is CR the beta tester? I'm going to post about this on my other threads.

We will be arriving at the Contemporary Resort on Thursday. I noticed the Sand Bar doesnt have any adult beverages, there is listed a Cove Bar but it states its at BLT pool. Will we have access to this area?

Great trip so far, thanks!

I'm afraid this info about new toiletries and water will go virile, then everyone will expect/demand it at all resorts, and then it will be discontinued.

Hi there,
FYI the Sand Bar does serve adult beverages! The bar is around corner from the where you get food.

Thank you for the detailed directions to the observation deck!

I am actually treating my parents to dinner at Narcoossee's for their anniversary. We have an ADR booked for breakfast at The Wave one morning, and I definitely want to check out the cupcakes I've heard so much about at Contempo Cafe!

We did not have them at Poly in December or YC in February.

Only 4 months and 22 days until BLT...need some happy thoughts now that my San Antonio Spurs went down in flames to Oklahoma City Thunder! Yes it's been two weeks and we still are depressed in San Antonio ! :rolleyes1

Hi! Can someone give me ideas on things we can do at the contemporary during our "resort day"?

We won't be utilizing the pools.

At Poly we walked around the grounds, sat on the beach, roasted marshmallows, and rented a small water craft.

I know that we can also rent a boat at CR, but am not familiar with anything else.. Any tips would be appreciated!
