Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

I'm now officially booked for the Contemporary Resort for spring of 2016. I chose the garden wing because I prefer a quiet area.

Question: I booked a standard view. Are those just the rooms that face the parking lot, or is it possible that I'll end up further toward Bay Lake? I'm trying to be as close to the main tower as possible.

Congratulations on being officially booked. The SV rooms are closest to the path to the Tower, but they all face the parking lot with the monorail above/beyond.

YIPPEE you made it! You must be over on the outer north side or did you get a TPV upgrade? Enjoy the whirlpool tub and those gorgeous balcony views.

Yup, north side! It was what I requested, though I would've been perfectly happy with the south side as well for that Contemporary view. I did want an even number room for sure though, since the one time we were here before we had an odd number room. Here is our straight ahead view. Very peaceful. There's also the tennis courts and plenty of parking lot hidden in that other pic I posted.

That's so beautiful! We've got a 1BR Lake View booked for our very first WDW visit in February and I can't wait! May I ask why you prefer an even number room? Just to be different than your first stay, or is there something you prefer about about them? I have no idea what I should request for our stay!

Thanks again WDWKOOK, I am sure it will be very nice. There just is something about WL at Christmas but, we'll be back to at least visit during this trip. I am excited for a larger room and walking to MK. My husband and son are nuts for the monorail too!

My husband has asked to stay at the Contemporary in the tower for his 40th birthday in January. We'd probably be there Jan. 11 to Jan. 15, 2016. I know he'd prefer club level and I'd like to surprise him with a TPV.
Should I just book now? Or is it possible that there may be a discount released in the future that could apply to a club level tower room with TPV? Is it better to wait? I have to admit it is really difficult to not just book so I can tell myself that I have a Disney World trip booked!

I agree with the pp's that if you will stay TPV CL with or without a discount, I'd book now to make sure you get what you want .

Just switched from WL to Contemporary Garden Wing for 12/11/15 - 12/19/15. We have done BLT Studio, any pointers for CR GW would be greatly appreciated. Starting to think we should be on that resort changers thread...ha ha ha. We didn't really want to change but a little scared to chance it with the DVC expansion coming. We loved BLT and figure CR GW will just be something we have not done yet.

We really like GW. You'll be right next to the pool and beach (maybe not as important in Dec.). It's a short walk to the tower building and all of the dining, shopping, and transportation. The rooms are very nice at a much lower rate than the tower rooms. I think you'll be happy with the choice!

We've stayed South Outer villa, but never North Outer villa and your view is even more relaxing. To the north/west of your photo is the entrance to the dry dock for the ferry/boats. It's also where the "Nautilus" subs used to be stored back when 20,000 Leagues was dismantled, but I believe they have since been moved.

My husband and I are looking at booking during Princess Half Marathon. It will be my first runDisney race and since we will not be bringing our 3 kids along with us (aren't we horrible ) we would thought we would make it a nice getaway by booking a CR TPV Tower room. I am just worried about noise level of the MK fireworks and people at Chef Mickey's, especially because I will have to get up 3 mornings in a row by 2:30 am so I will be going to bed early hopefully. How is the noise level in the rooms?

We stayed at CR CL for our first PHM and heard only the boom of the fireworks and no chef mickey. I honestly was so jazzed up I slept very little but still finished the race ! We requested very end of the hallway so we wouldn't hear the other guests in the hallway.
