Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

Thanks KOOK! Yea I know about those rooms on the 14th floor but I don't want to book them because of the bad reviews on the room condition. I'll be fine with 2 queen beds, but I'd much rather have 1 king bed since it's only my bf and I going this trip.
Not sure what the bad Tower Club room condition reviews are all about, but all the rooms were rehabbed last year and there are links to photos of them in the CL section. Were the reviews about poor housekeeping? That is an inconsistency at just about all the Disney Resorts so I can understand your not wanting to spend even more money with the risk of a poorly maintained room.

I hope you get your King room request!

No. It wasn't about housekeeping. I read on contemporaryresort.net that the 2 king rooms on the Tower CL are the worst rooms on property and some reviews on tripadvisor said the same thing

How old were these reviews? Did they pre-date the refurb?

Oh, now I know what you're talking about. Craig takes amazing photos, but, he hasn't updated his website for many years. Those rooms were rehabbed last year and while they may be awkwardly configured, I don't they would disappoint you. A few posters stayed in them last year and seemed to love them. And, I think Tripadvisor has some pretty negative reviews on all CR rooms. But, those Tower Club rooms aren't configured the same way as the other rooms at CR, so you may not like them.

Uhhh. I don't remember. I was looking at them a couple of weeks after we booked and we booked in July

Yea. I just looked at the post refurbed rooms and it just looks a little "plain jane" to me.. I think I'll try my luck with the 12 floor. If we get 2 queens, it'll be fine. It won't ruin our vacation. Plus, if my bf gets on my nerves, I can just push him to the other bed :rolleyes1

Hi BLT Experts,

We are bringing our little grandchildren for their first WDW visit in November. :goodvibes
We will be staying in a two bdrm at BLT and would like to know if there is a high chair provided in the room.

Thanks for the help.
Adrienne

Here now and the splash area for kids is closed for refurbishment. By the the looks of it, it's going to be down for a little bit. Not sure how long.

Oh no! We are there next month, and that was a big selling point for my little ones! :(

There is one in the closet of the 1br and 2br that I stayed in.

I found this on page one . Scroll down until you see a pic of the closet with vacuum, pack n play and high chair.

We arrived on Saturday and it was open. So I was going to take the little ones this week. When we came back to the hotel on Monday from the parks, it was closed off and it look like someone dismantled part of it. It's been in the same state since and I haven't seen a soul working on it.

. That stinks! We arrive on Saturday:(

If you have little ones, the main pool is only 3 feet deep and they have free life vests. My toddlers loved it and the slide too. They haven't freely swam around a pool before and after about 10 minutes, they didn't want to get out.The pool hasn't been crowded either.

Is there a height or swimming requirement for the slide?

No height requirement, but the child must be able to swim away from the slide after coming down since you can't wait at the bottom to "catch them," but you can be nearby. I believe they can still wear preservers on the slide.

There were three lifeguards and they let us and others catch our toddlers. It might depend on if it's crowded, there weren't many people in the pool, maybe 25 of us. They did tell me you can't slide with them, and they can't wear swimming shoes. Yes, they can wear preservers on the slide.

For what it's worth, the elevator nearest the tower in the garden wing ( where the breezeway leads to the tower) has been down all week.

Just thought I'd share this. I'm excited if this is true! Im staying at the contemporary in December.

Oh goody! I'm staying at poly but visit the monorail resorts on my trips.

Kook, is there any chance the tree at WL will be up 11/18-21???

Never mind, can't sleep and found the info myself on the WL thread. Last years was 11/19 so keeping my fingers crossed. My moms first holiday visit and I know she would love to see that tree.

Hi Kook! We updated our dates for April. (If you could note it on the log-o-rail)

Our new dates are 4/25/15 - 5/2/15. (Still a Bay Lake View Tower room).

Shorter trip than we are used to, but I'm thinking that 7 nights/8 days will be plenty with a 3 month old! ::yes::

Thank you!!

I was looking at some pics from a recent trip and found this one! Instantly made me smile because the quiet pool at CR is one of my favorite places. :goodvibes

It doesn't matter what time of year or time of day I go to this pool, it is never crowded:thumbsup2

Also, the views are of Bay Lake and BLT:cheer2:

(Just ignore dd's legs:rotfl2:)
