A few questions about Garden View rooms ..

I have always wanted to stay at CR but it is kind of expensive for a family of 5 and because we just returned from Disney Land and stayed in the Disney Land resort we are staying in a Garden View room for 4 nights / 5 days which between flights is really a 3 day stay ! We have been to WDW a few times and we are really going for the MNSSHP !! :thumbsup2 First time for us !!
My questions are
1) is there a room I should request so I dont have to look at a parking lot ?? I would like to see the lake and or pool if possiable :confused3
2) how far is the walk really to get some food at the main tower ? We have stayed at POR / AKL / BC/YC ASMU and ASM so we have been to many resorts where the walk can be forever to get a QS meal .
3) We have walked from MK to CR before to get a bus to DTD so I am sure the walk is not too bad but how is the bus situation to other parks ? AK and HS ? I know that the monorail takes us right to Epcot ! :goodvibes
I know this sounds silly but just wondering these things before we get there !! Less then 60 days to go and I am looking forward to our trip because Disney Land is nice and it was a wonderful trip but it just isnt HOME !! LOL :rotfl:

We pushed our trip to March and are now renting points I am debating between studio and 1 bedroom….it will be me, DH and 3 DDs (2,5,7). we are staying here for 3 nights and then heading to AKV for four nights…..Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are?? obviously the one bedroom would be nicer but the price difference is HUGE! just wondering what everyone thought…we are planning MK and epcot before transferring to AKV so won't be in the room much which is why I was thinking of studio?!

thoughts??

Are you planning on your three girls sharing one bed? In the studio you'd have a King bed and a sleeper love seat. In the one bedroom you'd have a King bed, a sleeper sofa, and a sleeper chair (in addition to a second bathroom and the full kitchen.) Those are the 'details,' but only you can really say which is going to work better for your family and whether or not the greater convenience and space justifies the greater price :) Either way, BLT is awesome and you can't go wrong!

the CR hotel rooms are bigger than the BLT studios. Only difference is no microwave. I would splurge and get the 1 bedroom, what are you staying in at AKV? If 1 br, then maybe I would squeeze into a studio since its just 3 nghts

Does anyone have the prices for liquor sold in the gift shop? Specifically wine. Im trying to see if I should pack my own or just get it there!

Removing the cost from the equation (easy for me to say, right? ;-))
I would def go with the 1BR. I know the kids are small but that's just one kid too many.

BUT...if push came to shove, you could probably make it work.
Here's what a pic of the studio looks like...

Our oldest two would share a room and our youngest would be in a pack n play still.

I am merely second guessing based on cost and us not being in room. We have two full park days planned and then check out the next day. We will be doing a one bedroom at akv. I wanted BLT the whole time but my kids really want to stay at akv and the trip is for them right?? Lol

I am thinking of booking a package tomorrow just in case I can't get the points. Should I book a garden wing instead of studio??

Do you need the kitchenette? If not, I would book the CR garden wing. The room is bigger than a studio. It will have 2 queen beds and a daybed. The studio at BLT has a queen bed & sleep sofa. Smaller room because of the kitchenette. I have stayed in both BLT & CR. You will love whichever you pick.
Have a fun vacation!

A full length mirror!!!!! That was the one thing we were majorly missing in our 2 bedroom!!

LOL, as a husband, I NEVER even had that on my radar! The only thing that I do know is to not claim the side of the bath room sink with the outlet since my wife is the one that uses a curler\straightener\hair dryer, whereas I shave my head. :guilty:

Request a Bay Lake View. Those rooms are wonderful.

2) how far is the walk really to get some food at the main tower ? We have stayed at POR / AKL / BC/YC ASMU and ASM so we have been to many resorts where the walk can be forever to get a QS meal .

It's not very far at all. We stayed in the Garden Wing in the section right on Bay Lake (the absolute farthest away from the main area you can get.) I think the walk is less than 5 minutes. Much closer than just about everything at POR and the All Stars unless you count the preferred sections.

3) We have walked from MK to CR before to get a bus to DTD so I am sure the walk is not too bad but how is the bus situation to other parks ? AK and HS ? I know that the monorail takes us right to Epcot ! :goodvibes

I was pleasantly surprised on our last trip with the buses, we waited less for them than we have at any other resort in 13 trips. Of course, I'm sure that probably has a lot to do with timing, so YMMV. We also spent 4 of our 8 days at MK, so didn't ride them very much.

You can add us to the list -- we're booked in a Bay Lake View room in the CR tower and my mom has a studio in BLT for Nov. 1-9. Got all our ADRs scheduled, and are just waiting for that FP+ window to open up in a little more than a month. Woo Hoo!

Our favorite thing was the view overlooking Bay Lake. It was cool watching a rain storm over the lake that afternoon and later that night watching all of the activity of the boats and people from the balcony. It was a great way to end the trip.

I forgot to say that I think this sounds delightful. :cloud9:

1. Yes, on channel 105. On some of the TVs, you have to enter the numbers 105 instead of just using the channel up button.

Thank you for this :worship:

It won't be long before you're checking into the CR :cool1::cool1:.

I can't wait to see pics and hear about your trip :goodvibes.

Thank you - and GOOD LUCK TOMORROW :woohoo:

Since you'll have one child in a pak n play, I'd say go for the savings  and then spread out in your AKV 1-bedroom :dance3: Of course, if you've been talked into booking a more spacious CR room, that is great too :thumbsup2

I don't know but if no one answers before the end of next week, I can let you know from the Contemporary :wizard:

brettcw23 Loved your pics! I'd love to stay in a BLT studio one day :cutie:

I think you would find it much more comfortable. I don't know where you'll fit a pack n play and I assume a stroller in the studio. Maybe the pack n play in the entrance and stroller in kitchenette.

I stayed in a studio with my DD(11) in Dec and we loved it but it is very tight when the sleep sofa is open. We loved it so much that I booked a 1BR for our family of 5 for August. Can't wait.:cool1:

The 1 bedrooms are the king bedroom with no sleeper and the main living area with the sleeper, right?

I wouldn't worry too much about the view you go with. If you're looking to splurge - theme park views would be extra magical but there are several regulars here, including WDWKOOK who keeps this FAQ so wonderfully organized, who actually prefer the Bay Lake views :cloud9:

You can count me among the ranks of enjoying a Bay Lake view over a theme park view. Sure the castle is awesome all lit up and watching wishes from your balcony; but for me I just can't get past that "wonderful" view of the parking lot below. :goodvibes

Yes. 1BR has king bed in master, master bath, sleep sofa and sleeper chair in living room, 2nd bathroom, washer/dryer & full kitchen.:thumbsup2

Last summer we did a week AKV Kidani 1BR and a week in a 2BR at BWV. I liked the layout at AKV better. This year we are doing 1night at AoA, 8 nights in a TPV 1BR at BLT followed by 3 nights at Kidani. I'm doing 3 nights at sports with just DS to start. 15 nights. My longest trip ever.

Good point. I only have one child, so I don't tend to think about things like this :headache:

I may join the ranks next week. Looking forward to that gorgeous, relaxing view of the lake :cloud9:

 :dance3: :cheer2: party: Now THAT'S the way to do Disney! :dancer:

Finally down to single digits. Checking in next Friday. Just hoping this week of work goes as fast as I know vacation will.;)
