I totally forgot to ask. Do you know anything about room service opening?Nothing official beyond the initial list to support the DVC openings & Ft Wilderness. Right now the Wave restaurant is open and the Contempo Cafe. We should have more updates on the CR as we get closer to July 10th opening.
Dave
Right now it is not available with the initial opening as of yesterday, June 22. We should have an update before the July 10th opening of the CR. Also we don't know yet private dining will be setup in your room or only delivered to your door.I totally forgot to ask. Do you know anything about room service opening?

Well 1st floor has a shared patio if want outdoor space. With all of this reservation change insanity, four our Aug. 4 one nighter, I got moved from an AKL King Bed Pool View to a CR Garden Wing Garden View. At first I was a bit bummed about the garden wing, but have read a lot of nice stuff about it, about how quiet it is, the views are nice (for garden view rooms anyways), etc. What can you CR experts tell me about em? We're not doing parks so I'm all for a nice, quiet room that is still on the monorail loop. Thanks!
Thanks! All I know is we have a "garden view" so we'll get one of the nicer views at least. Would love a first floor room bc of the patio. Since we aren't doing the parks, we plan on just hanging at the resort a lot, so having the patio and being able to walk right over to the pool is excellent. Since we did online check-in, we'll just be assigned a room so can't request a floor level at check-in, so maybe I'll give the ole "fax a room request" thing a try (the requests in online check-in only allow for "higher room").Well 1st floor has a shared patio if want outdoor space.
Look at the map. The rooms on the right side facing WL have nice water views. The ones in middle on left nice pool views. Only bad views are the std which still has view or mono. It is easy to get to boat, mk, transport from there.
However pool access is the best feature!
Oh laundry is in the wing too, i think 2nd floor but check map at check in.
When you get room assignment via text there is a number to call. Have the room map from here page 1. If get upper floor call and ask for a 1st. I have done that successfully in the past(needed king room). Thanks! All I know is we have a "garden view" so we'll get one of the nicer views at least. Would love a first floor room bc of the patio. Any updates of what will be open at the resort when it opens in July?
I thought I saw a post Chef Mickey will be open. Only thing I can find is the BLT info post for food and amenities.
Also, this will be our first stay here. Excited to try it.
We will probably cross paths. My daughters an I will be in the garden wing 7/31-8/8. Trying to figure out dining too . I will date myself I am 50 and this our first CR stay.YC refugee here (term "borrowed" from my cruise FB group). Thank you for welcoming us to your hotel.
I really hate to date myself, but my first and only stay at CR was as a kid in 1974. We were in the garden wing. This time DD and I will be in the tower - lake view. My dad was an architect and loved this hotel and loved Disney World. He and my mom were going to stay here in April. Sadly, his health declined and he passed away in May.
We were moved to CR yesterday. I was literally shaking and crying when my hotel saga was finally resolved yesterday. It was such a relief to know where we would be staying. Hopefully, this trip will work out. With things the way they are in the world, who knows???
We are looking forward to walking to my favorite park. Also, I am going to cross my fingers that our fav restaurant, Cali, will open by Aug. 3. Don't worry, not holding my breath on that one.
I actually enjoy the Garden Wing. I have selected it many times. I am booked into a Garden Wing King room in September. We will probably cross paths. My daughters an I will be in the garden wing 7/31-8/8. Trying to figure out dining too . I will date myself I am 50 and this our first CR stay.
How long is the walk to MK from the Garden wing?I actually enjoy the Garden Wing. I have selected it many times. I am booked into a Garden Wing King room in September.
How long is the walk to MK from the Garden wing?
Thank you!Oh ... you just touched on one of my favorite parts. I enjoy the walk to the Magic Kingdom. I move at a pretty decent stride, and I find the walk from the front lobby door of the Contemporary to MK about 10 minutes. It is a good 20 minutes From the Contemporary to MK by Monorail loop, if the Monorail is not held up on any of its stops. Coming back from MK , it is the monorails first stop , bit I normally find the walk faster, unless I just want to take the ride.
Not sure what room you had at the Poly but the 2BR villas at BLT are awesome. 3 full bathrooms helps everyone get ready quickly in the morning.I just got moved from Poly to BLT 2 br lake view.
