We're considering a stay at th CR for our next trip. Can you tell me if those of you who have stayed in the garden wing missed having a balcony?

We stayed in the garden wing in 2007 and had the little "balcony" where you open the sliding doors and there's a railing right up against you (forgive me for not knowing what that's called.) It was nice to still be able to open the doors and enjoy the view/fresh air, and we aren't really balcony sitters anyway, so it was fine for us. :thumbsup2

We stayed in the Garden Wing a few years ago. We requested ground floor and loved having the patio to sit outside and watch the water parade, or for our kids to go outside. It felt like the kids had their own backyard to play in. It was very peaceful staying in the Garden Wing. We loved it. Didn't feel "busy" like the tower might.

We are at BLT now in a one bedroom lake view and are loving it! The villa is so much bigger and nicer than I thought it would be and we have that lake/monorail side view that is awesome!! Love watching Wishes from the walkway, too!
Hope you're still having a great vacation.

WDWKOOK - you are so sweet (pun intended ;)) to share that recipe. My daughter would adore that cake ::yes::

Can't wait to make my FP+ selections this weekend. Woohoo!
So - at the 60-day mark I can make selections for all dates of my trip?
Yes, you can make FP+ selections 60 days prior to your check-in date for your entire stay (beyond the 60 days).

It's such a simple recipe, isn't it? My DD would also like the bittersweet chocolate.

We are staying August 6th-12th for our 4th Disney trip. Have stayed previously twice at the Poly & once at the Hilton on property. I always requested a certain longhouse during online checkin at the the Poly, but I'm not sure what I need to know about staying at the CR. We are staying in the tower and have the lake view room & are a family of 5. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be there at the same time! Also in a Bay Lake View tower room. Just did online check-in and requested "Upper Floor" and "Odd numbered room", to (hopefully) have views of pool, Wilderness Lodge... and maybe even peeks of IllumiNations pixiedust: (this is info I learned from this great FAQ, thanks to WDWKOOK ::yes::)

Good luck!

Thank you. Just did it! So fun.
In Feb. we got to try out FP+ for the first time, but did not have park admission until we got down there, so didn't get to book FPs in advance.
So fun to plan a week's worth of attractions from home :cheer2:

Posted in another thread, but figure if ask here too:

Can anyone update me in the pool situation? Will be there in a month, and I remember a while ago them talking about the pools closing or being off limits after certain hours, but I have not kept up with the news.

We are night swimmers and understand there usually us no lifeguard which is fine for us. But I would hate to come back from a long day at the parks and find the pool completely closed.

We will be at Bay Lake. Thanks!

I finally worked out my trust issues with strangers online and I rented points for 8 nights at a studio lake view in BLT April 2015. This is my first trip to WDW and I'm so excited for it.

So I'm thinking of "jumping ship" from WL/CL to the CR... (the WL pool is rumored to be under construction, I think, during our stay)... not willing to lose out on a pool during vacation I'm trying to find some other options.

Because it's so late in the game and free dining during our stay, I cannot book a CL room, but I can get a bay lake tower view from WDW direct, but if you go to Southwest or Orbitz you can get a theme park view, why is that?

Can I request it at check-in that I'd pay to be upgraded and pay the price or are the rooms just gone?

LOL. Have fun planning. BLT is gorgeous!

I don't know anything about work going on at WL BUT I have stayed WL CL (once) and I loved it. The food offerings were some of the best I've ever had in WDW CL.
Can you get confirmation from IPO re. the work b/c it would be a shame to give up your plans if this is just speculation. Of course, it may be that they do not know for sure.

Re. CR room views: personally, I would not plan a trip hoping to upgrade at check-in b/c I think it's unlikely you'd be able to.
Also, I like to know beforehand where I'll be, so that my expectations will be met and I'm not starting off the trip disappointed ;) You may feel differently. Would you be happy with a Bay Lake view? Or would you really want MK view if you moved over to CR?

I've booked a CR Tower, Bay Lake view room for August and I'm really looking forward to it - the space, the decor, being able to walk to MK in less than 10 minutes and also monorail back to resort in < 5 minutes :cool2: We stayed there for one night CL last summer and absolutely loved it :goodvibes

The 2 pools offer plenty of fun and the beachfront location is festive.

Good luck with your decision :flower3:

Also thinking of dropping WL for CR. Am I correct that some theme park views are really just mostly parking lot? Wondering if it is really worth the money if all bay lake views are consistently good?

The views are really, really cool but I guess some people might focus on the parking lots...

Doesn't some of the rooms face the fireworks from the beds? Are they the odd numbers?

Now that would be cool...laying in bed watching fireworks!!! :) I could get over seeing a parking lot for that!

From the Room/Rates section of this FAQ:

"When lying on the bed... Odd-numbered Magic Kingdom View beds face toward the MK."

On-line check-in allows you to request "Odd Number Room" :cool1:

That's just for the CR, though, not BLT, right?

Anyone know how BLT is situated in this respect? Which King beds face the MK, which sofas face the MK? Is there any rhyme or reason to it?

We were in 4843, which is 12th floor (Atrium Club), so about 3/4 of the way toward the MK end of the hotel. It was so fabulous :cloud9:

I know that 8022 (2-bedroom, MK villa at BLT) has a Master bedroom that faced CR and the other bedroom (2 queen beds) faced MK :thumbsup2
