Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Trying to decide on a club level room for an upcoming precruise stay. Staying clear away from Poly after the worst Disney hotel stay ever. If you do animal kingdom lodge, are you able to see animals from the windows in the lounge or the hotel rooms in that category? I know the restaurants in that hotel are amazing and trying to decide if eating at lounge is good or going to either of the restaurants instead.

I'm also torn because I am debating if I should do Coronado springs and get a gran destino tower club level room. I heard their club lounge is amazing too. My family likes grand Floridian but it's expensive and this would considered a moderate category.

So I've stayed at both of these several times with past stays happening in the last year at both. I love AKL, when we stay here though and do CL, it's usually just a resort stay, it wouldn't be terribly covienient to come back to, to take advantage of the offerings. I don't find the lounge to be overly loud at all, you cannot see the animals but the view is still lovely looking out over the lobby, especially at holiday time. All CL rooms are 2 floors down from the lounge but come with Arusha savanna views (this is the main savanna). Rooms can be far from the lounge but the walk is nice because you can see the savanna on the way to the elevators.

GDT is very different, huge lounge but we've noticed a decrease in offerings over the past year and they also have the infamous micro wine pours at app time (they're literally 2oz, if that). Once again, not terribly convenient to get back to, no balcony if that's your thing. Also note, your room could be anywhere in the tower.

If you like GF, have you looked into BWI? This is my personal favorite CL. It's an easy walk to 2 parks so making it back for afternoon breaks is much more covienient. All rooms except the garden cottages and a couple deluxe rooms are on the same floor as the lounge.

Anyone manage to get a general or AP discount on CR or GF CL for mid-August? I managed to grab a rack rate CR tower club king - I am better with paying rack rate for that than atrium club since the price is essentially the same, but would prefer a discount, obvs. Just want to know whether I should keep intensively stalking;).

Last time I stayed CR tower king was for last year’s August MNSSHP trip, so if nothing else, it will be nice to see what’s changed!

I was offered a bounceback for CR cl for mid August. This was a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately, no go on BB for me because (argh), I let go of an existing BB rate for early 2025 due to a conflict, and I am no longer eligible. I have been kicking myself, but I had no intention of going again until Nov! Lesson learned, hold onto BB res instead of cancelling because you might be able to apply the discount another time.

I thought about calling and begging them to apply the cancelled res discount to a new res, but I know that will be a nonstarter.

It’s weird that they aren’t giving discounts for august or September for tower or atrium club bc it seems like there is still lots of availability. Hope something opens up for you.

Thanks! I know not to totally give up, they may add them later, or others may cancel. I have a great discount on a TPV non-CL room at GF then, as well, but my sister will not move from CR.,I already know that it wil be more painful to go back and forth than spend the extra, and I am not interested in CR without CL. I have a stupid workload that week, so the whole thing may be academic anyways!

I got a discount on Tower Club for early September back on January 3rd or 4th. They had released the stay more, save more discount & it was 10% off. Later they changed or re-released the promo & excluded all CLs. @2vets, if you’re OK with Priceline, check there. They have had Disney resorts at 9% off. I have seen several CL rooms there. If you use Rakuten, Priceline is 7% back thru them today. The only thing is with Priceline you have to pay in full at booking. I’ve booked YC & Dolphin thru Priceline & Rakuten with no issues at all.

I hope it is ok that I am cross posting this from the GF thread.

I thought I’d add my very subjective thoughts on our recent stay at the GF RPC in case it helps anyone who hasn’t stayed there in some time. The TL; DR on this one is that I was worried that it would not come close to the way it was “back in the day,” but I was worried for nothing, because it was every bit as wonderful as I’d remembered.

We had stayed 3 times between 2010-2015 and it was always hands down my absolute favorite. For a few years after that we were mostly taking non-Disney vacays for a variety of reasons, then it seemed like RPC prices were getting a bit out of reach. And since covid, I have read so many negative things about all the cuts that have been made, and it was just really not sounding all that magical to me for the $$. But, I just couldn’t stop craving a stay there and so finally on a pretty decent Disney Visa discount, we got to check it out from June 23-28. And I am SO GLAD that we did!

The new lounge decor is gorgeous and I love the seating options. The majority of CL CM’s were wonderful; special shout outs to Beth and Irv. Breakfast was fantastic. Dh and I don’t really do carbs so for us, having the bacon and eggs every morning was a dream and much better for us than the breakfasts they had years ago. Mid-day offerings were pretty underwhelming and I definitely miss the Tea. Evening offerings were fabulous and while I believe I have read on here that they don’t offer as much variety as they used to, to my (admittedly rusty) recollection they seemed just as plentiful as always and very tasty. I’ll be forever sad about the loss of the orchestra, but I must admit I still really felt the same old wonderful vibe in the lounge even though we only have the pianist now.

Overall, for anyone who may be hesitating that things are very “watered down” compared to the offerings and service from years ago, I want to reassure you that our personal overall experience felt as relaxing and indulgent as ever. Yes, on paper, I realize there have been cuts, and of course I wish there hadn’t been. But for us, we experienced it just like we always had. It “felt” the same. It was an amazing vacation and we loved it so much that we snagged a BB for RPC Feb. This time it will be just myself and dh for the first time ever and we are already super excited. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

I asked this question on the Contemporary thread but no one has attempted to answer me. Posting here since it's a club level suite question and hopefully one of you know the answer.

My original question:
"The 2 bedroom tower club suite sleeps 10 people. Do I pay the $35 per day charge per person for more than 2 people, like in a regular room, or does the base price of a suite include more than 2 people?"

I tried asking the same question on the dreaded "chat". This is the response I got:

"The room charges differ once it doubles the amount of people. There is no breakdown or set price to that specific amount change. The website will automatically generate a higher price based on the amount of people in the room. There is no way to know for certain that price for the person"
🤷‍♀️

Portofino Bay. The beds were also amazing. Room seemed much bigger as well.
Glad to hear that. We love Portofino and have decided to stay CL this time around.

I am a little concerned however about Beach Club, club level. Hearing that it is not up to par as other deluxe resorts has me questioning my choice.

I'm noticing this too. We're going next month and I keep checking to see if something opens up with a discount for CL.....nothing. However, almost every resort, every room type is available. So they would rather let a room go empty vs giving even a little discount? This makes no sense to me.

No extra adult charges for suites. Sorry, I meant to reply to your other post and got distracted.

Have fun, and enjoy Tower Club!

I keep wondering if it’s staffing - they plan to have fewer staff on then..? Planned vacations or thinking ahead for hurricane season disruptions? Naah. I still have a rack rate CL booked, but since the AP discount is so good for non-CL, it is half the price. I don’t think I can justify it. This trip was already unanticipated. It stinks, because I had a great CL discount last year, same time!
