Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I’ll be at Tower in 15 days and will be solo so will post some stuff. I’ll ask about the coddled eggs - they have to know there is a running joke about them online at this point!!

I’m (tentatively - if I get an AP on Thurs, talk about a bad influence!) going back to meet DSis and her daughter for a long weekend at the end of June and have been messing with dates/rates - we are in a CR GW hospitality suite now with the summer discount, but the only way I’ve been able to get Atrium to come up was to eliminate the weekend AND the discount! I feel like they are trying to hold onto CL rooms everywhere.
Can’t wait to see your pics and reviews. I’m crossing my fingers for Thursday as well. 🤞
Btw, have you seen CR CL available without the discount. I couldn’t find any availability—rack rate or otherwise…

I had heard the coddled eggs were going to be on the outs sometime 4/1+, coinciding with the new CG menu that started then and other changes the relatively new chef was making. But as always take that with a grain of salt, not sure if it was just chit chat or fact.
Wow, that would be great. Look forward to seeing if the menu was changed/updated at all.

I was able to get some dates (rack rate) yesterday but only midweek - I was “multitasking” in a meeting, haha, and was entering all kinds of date/rate combos for the week of June 19. None of them work for us since we need the weekend, but I’m always checking to see what options might pop up that overlap dates we’ll be there! There is a GW 1 BR suite that’s available over the weekend we’re there, June 22-25, at the summer discount. For $50 more a night, we snagged the hospitality suite, but I know it’s gonna be annoying heading to the lounge.

Good luck on both fronts!

Ohhhhh, APs for sale PLUS no more coddled eggs?? This could be the best month yet!

I was eyeing those CR bathrooms. I'm all about a fancy one :D Thank you for your input, particularly that the lounges are pretty on par with each other.
Oh - one other bonus to CR if you drink alcohol is the ability to pour your own wine. I think the selections were (minimally) bettef at YC, but the line to get a glass was pretty long once or twice.

well looks like we were a bit short of magic this time; for our may 9 - 16 mothers day trip they automatically changed my ressie on MDE app from BWI deluxe to poly garden view CL; will get some money back(not back but less to pay) since the discount still applies and the room is a bit less, like $600ish; there is still a nonCL waterview room at the BC which we are working on since we really want to be around crescent lake but as of now they wont discount it; but time will tell; ima covered with all brekkie ressies out which can be canceled if we stay CL but just in case we get that BC room......

epcot resort area is better for us because of the large 500lber ecv that cant be disassembled to travel so i have to take dis access minnie vans; so staying at GDT CL which i have in reserve means every trip is with that van; around crescent lake i only need the van to the MK, and at the poly ill only need it to DHS; problem is dinners at epcot world showcase after a nap in the room after lunch will be canceled for either resort or springs restaurants since i can drive and walk short distances with cane;

now the good news - i canceled our 12 day Norwegian Joy Haven ABC Islands cruise in Oct and just booked the BWI for sept 26-oct 3, but only a standard CL with discount since as of now no deluxes appear; and canceled the flight home from the cruise from miami(it departs NYC) which basically covers the 1st class flights in sept on delta to wdw; so 2X at BWI CL this year and 1 probably Poly CL should dry my tears and ease my frustration;
and then there is next year - already planning a jan 30 - 8 dayer at BWI CL deluxe if available!

DW wants to spend a week or more in Charleston SC and Savannah Ga and then go north when the leaves are changing so plenty to plan; she also really wants to go see the ARK in Kentucky so we will figure that out too;

BWI isn’t one of my favs so I don’t always pay attention to the details there, but what was the original CL renovation date range that was discussed around here? Seems like a lot of disrupted trips, just curious how off (if that’s the right word) they are?

If I recall correctly, @trishadono was supposed to be there on the opening day for her DD’s bachelorette party. And I think it was very late April - perhaps the 28th or so.

If the Lounge opens on May 1st along with the Standard CL rooms, that’s not too bad of a delay, but it’s still unknown if that will really be the day it opens. So far, I don’t believe that anyone has been called to move or notified of a reduced lounge or anything.

The Deluxe and Suites are closed until at least mid-May per the CM I spoke with. He actually said they were closed ‘indefinitely’, but I doubt they are really canceling any bookings that far into the future. But clearly, they are very behind schedule on those rooms.

I got the call from DSS for our July 4th stay this morning. That was a nice surprise, but we’ debating if we really want to go then. After the crowds last weekend for Easter, we’re not sure we want to deal with another holiday.

FWIW, Easter is on my “never again” WDW list (which shocker is not a long list). July 4th is “always”. Don’t get me wrong, 7/4 is crowded, but it’s night and day IMO.

I'm considering booking it for Labor Day weekend, if I'm able to get my AP back. The Visa discount is downright absurd and it seems like an optimal time to try out the CL product to see if it works for us.
Thank you for mentioning this discount! I completely forgot about it. It was a crazy deal I’m so excited I’ll be able to go end of may now 😊

Which one? I have been lazy this year, less pictures and more relaxing.

I have Tower CL pix posted mid March if you scroll back. Atrium will be pretty similar just without the sushi.

I didn’t take much of poly this year,

If you scroll to January and just look for pix people are always posting some.

The hard part is they are always changing things, I visited akl , bwi, gf, cr and poly post Covid . My pix are now absolute compared to what others have been posting.

BWI no longer has a chef, YC just got rid of large plates, gf added back the soup . That kind of thing…

I’ll be at Atrium in 2 weeks if anyone needs anything,
Poly please

Thanks! That’s good to know & I definitely value your opinion. We went at Easter once before. I think it was 2019 when Easter was April 21st. I knew with it being earlier this year it would be more crowded. It was easy to say we wouldn’t worry about getting much done, but once we were there, that wasn’t easy to stick to. 😂 I’ll confess.. I wasn’t planning to get genie + but cracked while waiting in line. Of course, had I just planned it & started at 7 instead of while in line at 10:30, it would have worked much better. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Who am I kidding, I’m gonna buy it anyway. So next trip, I’ll start at 7 & do it the right way.

We put together a trip for July which for the moment is a triple split stay: few nights at Caribbean Beach, then Animal Kingdom CL, finishing up with three nights at Wilderness Lodge CL. Taking advantage of the Visa card discount.

We had a DVC stay last month at Riviera and Polynesian, adding a night at the beginning of the trip at Caribbean Beach to do the Tron AP preview and really liked it there. We checked out of CB early morning and just walked our luggage to Riviera. The Skyliner was super convenient. I really wish Riviera had Club Level Lounge. Was a bit disappointed that the path from GF to MK was closed as we like to be able to walk.

I have an answer on BC Stone Harbor Lounge refurbishment if anyone is looking for one! I just spoke to a cast member who spoke to someone at the Beach Club. As of right now refurb is due to be completely May 15th. They said if for some reason it is not done we will be called. Fingers crossed it’s done by our May 21 arrival!

Question for everyone in this thread:
Have you ever experienced digestive problems at WDW?

Prior to 2018, it was rare for any of us to get sick at WDW. Since 2018 though, on most of our WDW trips at least one of us has wound up getting sick at WDW.

We have not had this problem when staying at Universal or offsite, over many stays at Universal. Only rarely has anyone ever been sick when we vacationed anywhere else or stayed offsite.
the only time any of us has gotten sick from food at WDW was when my daughter accidentally ate something with milk in it and shes lactose intolerant. We're staying at AKL savanna view club level in 22 days. This will be our first experience with club level and wondering how do I let them know we have someone in our party whos got a dairy issue?

What is the Visa discount?

I have a lot of experience with Kilimanjaro Club and food allergies. They are very accommodating and have a binder that lists literally every single item that is ever served at the Club, with ingredients listed. You should reach out to DSS first to ask them to notate the allergy in your reservation. 80-20 odds are that the resort never gets that message. When you arrive, just let them know at the Concierge desk on the 6th floor by the lounge that you need dairy-free options. They always have breakfast items available that are allergy-friendly, and for dinner, your daughter can order from a list of allergy-friendly items in lieu of the appetizers if they contain dairy. Have a wonderful trip! You will absolutely love it.

I was about to reply but @2vets pretty much captured what I would have said comparing the two.

We were in a pretty nonstop Poly CL trend for our first few years of Disney stays and I had trouble ‘breaking away’. With the cost you just want to feel you were getting your money’s worth and I went awhile before ‘risking’ something new. But ultimately I learned there are pros and cons with everywhere (both resort and CL) and I’m glad I’ve moved around to be able to compare/contrast/fine tune what works for us.

Enjoy, whatever you decide!

PS: While I could do without the Incredibles theme, I do think the bathrooms are now the nicest of the deluxes, they did a really good job IMO.

Are you still on the Poly trend or have you found somewhere else you like best? I'm all over the place on where to stay between CR, Poly, and YC. They are the only 3 with availability. I really want the club that feels the calmest even though I know they are all crazy and busy. On the other hand, we have an EPCOT fireworks cruise scheduled and I guess it just makes sense to stay at the YC so we don't have to travel after.

Why is making Disney plans so hard? It sure is a tough life :D
