Thoughts on why youliked the Tower vs Atrium? I am planning a trip in early Nov for DD12 and myself. She has requested CR but wants Atrium because she wants to be able to look down and see the Monorail. Is there a big downfall to Atrium that I have missed? I mean, if I can't try the infamous eggs then is is even worth going? In all seriousness, is there something I am missing? Noise doesn't bother us and we are early risers. We would most likely be staying lakeview not theme park.

Well I also enjoy looking over the rail on the hall and then running through the room to look out the balcony too.

Lounges look pretty similar so that’s not an issue.

However the Tower is less crowded and they have a little bit food options like the sushi. It’s easier to get things from a CM because there are fewer guests.

However for my DD the extra large balconies on the Tower is what she loves. She hates spiders and sitting with nothing above you (ceiling) she felt more comfortable.

For me now that I’ve tried both I prefer Tower but before I tried I liked Atrium. At your dds age she probably would prefer Atrium. Getting to watch all the going’s on from above is kinda cool, especially for 12.

I have stayed at BWI so many times, I couldn’t even tell you, and somehow I missed the chocolate pot de crème!!! We do tend to stay for long weekends though so maybe we’re missing the rotation?! Thanks for letting me know! Now I’ll be looking for it…yes, I do like dessert! But I agree with you, most CL desserts aren’t worth the calories! We’re back at BWI for Memorial Day so maybe I’ll get lucky !

I sent my son down to grab desserts one night and when he brought it back to the room I literally jumped off the bed! I can’t remember which trip it was, but it was definitely post Covid! And I know I got it myself once. Hopefully it’s regularly in the rotation. I suppose it could have been twice in the same trip.

Hi, staying at the Poly club level in two weeks (during the busy Easter time) and it was a somewhat last minute upgrade for us bc I wanted to avoid the standard hotel room construction view. Prior to this upgrade, I had wanted to book the fireworks pre-party at MK bc we did it during our last visit and it was a special way to end our Disney trip.

Has anyone done the fireworks parties despite having club level that includes desserts every night? Wondering if a fireworks party is kind of an excessive splurge now. Thanks!

We have. We don’t watch fireworks in the park very often. We hate the crowds & fireworks aren’t a must do for us. So when we do want to watch them, I book the dessert party. Being in club level doesn’t play into the decision to book the dessert party at all. But maybe we’re not the best ones to ask. We don’t worry about eating everything offered in CL. We usually have a table service dinner every day too, despite having apps available in the lounge.

Just seconding the response you received - like Tower over Atrium because there are so few roomon the Tower floor that the lounge feels much quieter, calmer. And the sushi is yum. But I am usually solo, or with my sister/niece who live 2 hrs away and go to WDW for overnights maybe 6+ times a year and mostly at CR. In your situation, Atrium might be a better fit! It’s fun to look down and see the concourse.

Me! Several times. It is a splurgey experience, sure, but being inside the park for FW without the crowds? Worth it, IMO. Different from watching from your resort.

Thanks! Since the lounge has included desserts every night and a view of fireworks, wasn’t sure if I was making a particularly dumb decision. But I did book for the convenience of being able to see the projections much closer up and not being totally packed in and want to do rides right afterwards, so thank you for helping me justify it, haha.

Ok thanks for the responses! That is what I was thinking, that it was a smaller experience. If DH was with us, the sushi might be a selling point but I don't eat it and DD is hit or miss. I think the excitement of looking down is what she is looking for so we will give it a whirl. We are used to WL CL so I feel like Atrium will be a lot more people, but since DH, our official crowd hater, won't be with us, we should be fine.

@trishadono I love hearing that you still go with your daughter. My dd will be almost 13 by this trip. We plan on taking it to celebrate her first season of running cross country (hence her hotel choice). While I am celebrating the young woman she is becoming, I feel my little girl slipping away. I am excited for this trip, her and I are the Disney lovers, so we can do all the stuff we want but might not do on a trip with DH.

I'm not the person you quoted, but I think I prefer Atrium level. They are mostly pretty similar.

1. One key difference is Tower is harder to book, at least if you are looking for a traditional room (vs. suite). The price is, I think, slightly higher, or at least it was for one of our stays a few years back.

2. At least one of 2 queen rooms is handicapped accessible, so your odds of getting that room are fairly high. not the end of the world, but you get the automatic door, and it is hard to keep water off the bathroom floor if you use the shower.

3. Another key difference is that the Tower rooms only hold 4 people. The balcony is a little larger, but that means you lose a little bit of indoor space.

4. Yes, you get slightly more personal service, but you also lose serving volume and food turnover. (The amount of food that is put out, and how quickly it gets replenished.) In some ways it is nice having a quieter lounge, but it is also nice seeing other people at times. It is fun to see happy people on vacation.

5. You wait slightly longer for an elevator on Tower.

Good points, especially on the room size/occupancy and that one queen room. I haven’t seen issues with food refresh in Tower CL vs Atrium (opposite, actually, Atrium club always seems crowded to me) but others’ experiences may differ. You can’t go wrong either way.

I can justify all kinds of splurges - Disney Math, right?? In fact, I just booked one for my solo days, may not keep it, of course. If you’re even considering it, grab a date. You can always cancel!

I asked DH for our 1st mom n me when she was 11. Agree, they grow up too fast!

I am excited for this trip, her and I are the Disney lovers, so we can do all the stuff we want but might not do on a trip with DH.

My two cents is that watching the fireworks from inside the park and watching the fireworks from a place like the Poly beach or CL lounge are two different entertrainment experiences/shows. I would make a case for making time for both during a stay if possible.

Nothing really replaces the being in the park vibe, visuals, proximity - it's the full package/show as it was intended to be watched, Tink flying overhead, etc.

Watching from Poly is also good, but it's more of a pure fireworks show w/out the visuals - the mostly straight angle to the park makes it a quality show from there too. And the relaxing atmosphere, a beverage nearby, you can be in your bed 60 seconds after the show, etc.

If I'm staying long enough I try to make time for both.

Side note not really related to your question but just an observation... I'm not really a fan of actually watching fireworks from the Poly lounge. It sounds good in theory, but in reality on many nights I've found people generally don't stop talking, there is extraneous noise/dishes clanking, and the glare from windows is not ideal. I prefer stepping out to the beach.

Just my perspective!

Thanks so much! I totally agree—I’d want to see the fireworks from outside vs inside. I just wasn’t sure if it was a little silly to have access to club desserts every night and still pay for a dessert party. But thank you for helping me justify spending an extra $315, haha. I’ve booked it for our last Disney night!

We prefer watching from the beach too. We bring a bev and snacks and we are set. Such a magical experience watching from the beach. Dessert party is on my list for next trip!

I just may get a trip in this year! I was out with my friend and she thinks she wants to do a food and wine weekend!!! So excited. Not sure we will do cl, it came up casually over quite a few drinks last night Lol. Options in my mind are BWI, swan/dolphin, gran destino (which would definitely be cl) or disney springs for going out after food and wine. If we did gran Destino or disney springs we would uber to epcot. It would strictly be a food and wine trip. Riviera is out because I'm scared of the skyliner lol. I'm leaning towards BWI. I'm so excited I may really get a trip in!

Edited to add, if I did swan/dolphin/disney springs, do I actually need cash or a credit card to pay for stuff? Lol. If so, making BWI/gran destino look real good.
