Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I've held a convention at WDW for the past 18 years, including the one I have this year in December at GF. Thirty days before my event they release any of the remaining rooms from my block, which goes back to the general public to book. Last year I sold out 725 room nights at CSR. This year I have 790 room nights at Grand Floridian, which I pretty much guarantee I'll sell out. If not, I'll try and offer to the Disboard folks. My contracted rate at GF this December? $251 per night.
Looks like it's sold out already unless you want to stay at AllSports.

Yes, to the general public or my attendees, it does look that way......but, if you look below in my "Staff" block, which is on hold for me, I have quite a few rooms available. :-)

@Sarahslay , I thought of you tonight. I read on another thread that you were getting cranky uninformed cms on the phone. Well I just called and had 2 of the nicest people ever. The first couldn't help me and transfered me, but she was lovely. The 2nd person I got was even nicer and even went above and put notes in to waive any fees if I have any problems. Sorry you didn't get the customer service I got.
Oh goodness I have had some bad ones recently lol, thankfully they aren't all that bad. I think that particular post was when I had to call in to modify my next trip reservation and he was so cranky and kept telling me you could never modify on the app when I've been doing it for years (I'm a notorious room changer lol). Thankfully I've had plenty of good ones.

Haha yes. That was the thread. Of course the button reappeared after I called and waited forever to cancel my one reservation 🙄

Ok, so @pld5 was doing such a great job of taking pictures of Innkeepers Club that I didn't take any (plus, my ADHD brain, and my stomach, kept making me dive right in to the food at every meal instead of taking pictures lol). I did want to give a mini review though, because I had such a great time and I think it's always helpful for others. First off, Lorenzo is back at BWI! Was so happy to see him, and he was as amazing as ever. He normally doesn't work weekends, but they ended up being short staffed on Sunday morning so he came in which was a joy. Lene kept checking in on me because I was always so tired, I have MS and it can be a bit much for me in the heat, but she kept getting on to me about not resting enough :rolleyes1. I didn't mind, I liked that caring feeling, and most of the CMs do go out of their way to do that. The only issue I had was with my MBs not working for my door for the first half of my trip.....and then the stupid reader on my door just went and died on me :charac2:. Thankfully Joe (at the desk) and Lene took care of me, got me back in my room to get my things for my park day, put in a work order to fix it ASAP, and I got an anytime LL pass for Splash Mountain (it was the only ride I still needed to do, so I got hooked up to make sure I could do it). By the time I got back to my room it was all fixed, room had been cleaned, and A/C was cranking (glorious). They had also had my room completely shampooed and steamed before I got there, there was a note saying the couch, chairs, and carpet may still be damp (they weren't, they had the air down and the ceiling fan going so it was all good), and my room was ready when I got there at 9:30am. Don't know what happened to that room before I got it to make them deep clean it, but it was amazingly clean so I won't complain. Room might look dated but it was in great shape (room 4223).

Overall, they had the best food, best service, and everything was taken care of how you always hope it is when there is an issue. A++ stay, 10/10 would recommend. Plus, I got to meet and hang out with my room neighbor @pld5 and her awesome family, what a blast.

YES! I was so happy it is back though, mainly because I might be changing that same reservation again and I do NOT want to call and wait again. Now just trying to decide if I want to do a cottage room at BWI with my daughter, 1 bedroom at CR, or 2 bedroom at AKL (currently have savannah view, non-CL, at AKL). Tough decisions.

You're worse then me with changing rooms.

Not sure if this has been posted up thread i’m rushing out the door right now no time to read back in the thread.. KtP has just tweeted that Club level services at the Contemporary are undergoing a brief refurb at the end of June. Tower Club lounge closed June 27 & 28th. Atrium lounge June 29 & 30. Guests affected should have received an email regarding the closures.

Guests being directed to California Grill for some amenities, but partial credits being given suggest not all perks will be available

Not sure if the link is allowed but the info is on twitter.. posted about 30 minutes ago.

Yep, @GADisneyDad14 posted it yesterday. KtP probably read it here. :rotfl2:

This is nothing, now I'm looking at a split stay because the CR suite got taken, and the AKL suite is gone, so now I'm looking at doing the cottage room for 3 nights, and an MK CL room for the last two since we have evening things at MK both of those nights. The only problem is.....do we know if those garden wing one bedroom ste with hospitality access have CL now? It's like how the cottages used to be in that it's not under that category, and then what lounge is it? I'm horrible lol

Yes, the GW Hospitality Suite is CL Access to the 12th floor/Atrium Club lounge. They still have those rooms mis-categorized on the Disney website for whatever reason - seemingly it’s not a priority to get it right.

I just booked a garden cottage at BWI for my trip with my youngest in 10 days. We were in just a regular Savannah room at AKL, but I do love CL when traveling alone (especially with her). Booked it for the whole trip, but keeping my eyes open to see if anything better comes along at CR or Poly for our dates since the room only cancelation time is almost here. Saw rooms coming available and then being snatched up almost as quickly as they appeared, as soon and I could ask her I’d go back and then they weren’t there. I won’t lose hope! She actually is excited for the cottage and sleeping on a sofa bed though, and in true-to-her form she says “it’ll be fine if it’s firm, that’ll be good for my back”, because she’s like a reincarnated 80 year old woman and finds the whole thing “lovely and charming”.

Are you familiar with the layout of the Garden Cottages at BWI?

They have a very steep set of wood tread stairs to the King bed loft and ensuite bathroom with an oversized deep soaking tub and a separate large shower.

The first floor only has a powder room and a separate wet bar where there is a microwave and the beverage cooler.

I believe that only 3 cottages 1205, 1206, and 1207actually have a sofa bed. The others 11 units have a large L-shaped sectional sofa.

The bonus of cottages 1205, 1206, and 1207 is the balcony off the 2nd floor.

Pretty nighttime show view. Fireworks audio continues to be fantastic these days from this location.

I posted earlier about strollers and such in the hallways. Like most I've seen an occasional scooter or two in my WDW travels but can't really recall the hallways being storage for so many strollers. In fairness it peaked one night then the other nights it was just one or two around.

Or dirty towels. :confused3

I have always tried to keep a pretty firm 'mind my own business' attitude with Disney and CL. I'm sure I'm no saint and have probably done something or my kids have done something that made someone feel a certain way without realizing, so who am I to judge. But just seemed like several things this trip - whether that one time with towels in the hall, no shoes in the lounge, no shirts in the lounge, strollers in the lounge, grabby hand little ones, etc. Ivette, Irv, and some other pre-COVID CMs used to be really quick to keep order on some of those things in the lounge, new CM crew seemed more passive in that regard.

Anyway, I'm really being nitpicky and these were certainly moment in time situations, not constants - that's important. Just observations.
Thank you for sharing pics. Were you able to see the fireworks from your room? I have an upcoming stay at poly CL in July that's theme park view but not sure what room I would need to request or avoid.

I don’t think all cottages have sofa beds, but I could be wrong. The one we stayed in did not, but this was also a few years ago and could have been switched out for a sofa bed.

Yes, I’ve stayed in them before (January 2020, right before the closure). According to Lene they all have a sofa bed, I had told her that the only thing available were cottages and she said “well they have sleeper sofas, your daughter to sleep on”. I watched a new resort room tour of a couple staying in 12012 (near the door to go upstairs) that had an L shaped sofa, they pulled it out to show it turns in to a sleeper. It is the section facing the door, not the tv, that pulls out. If mine for some reason doesn’t then she and I can share the king bed, she’s only 11 so I have no issue doing that. Also, the microwave is handy because her warm compress she has to do for her eye condition is heated in a microwave. We usually stay DVC with her or have to request, and last time I requested they were out, so this solves that problem.

I stayed in 1209 and she’s seen pictures of the little courtyard I took, and I think she wants that over a balcony that I can guarantee we will not sit out on. The only balconies I’ve ever used were CR and BLT to watch fireworks.

Yes, that was a Theme Park View room and that pic was from my balcony.

For Poly CL TPV rooms, I strongly suggest requesting a third floor room and leave it at that. Location on the floor is not really a material factor in the Hawaii building (although I don’t totally love being right by the lounge doors and elevator) - but the floor is. Second floor rooms don’t have balconies, third floor rooms do - so in my strong opinion you want third floor. Plus no noise above you. Know going in there is always a chance you’ll be on the second floor with that room type - sometimes that’s just the way the Tetris game works with rooms - but I’ve had reasonable luck over time with a third floor request.

Have fun!

I’ve seen a video of one of the L shaped sofas pulling out in to a sofa bed (it just doesn’t look like it, but it does), the three with balconies have a more standard sofa bed like the other resort rooms. Lene told me they all have them though. When she told me they have them I said “are you sure? I didn’t remember that when I stayed in one” and she said all the sofas fold out. That’s why I went hunting for a recent room tour video that showed it, it was my mission while I washed all my trip clothes.

Hey guys! So I was just trolling the DVC booking site this morning and an AK CL night popped up during the time we are booked to stay there! Of course, I booked it immediately!! So, my question is, to those who have stayed recently… is there anything there this extremely picky eater can eat during evening hot apps?!? 😬 I mean, I’m fine with a liquid dinner too, if necessary, but just thought I’d ask! 😏 Thank you for your help!!
