Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

A little- fine a big- part of me hoped GDT reopening would get moved up to coincide with my trip but nothing got moved earlier. Well, The Mouse will still get my money in other ways I’m sure 😆

So the transfer from WL to AKL went smooth. We left our luggage at WL bell services and caught the super early 6:45 bus to Animal Kingdom. Then about 2:30 took the bus to AKL and got the message that our room was ready. Then was surprised to discover that our luggage was there too! In the club lounge for a bit, now at the pool

Great Outdoor Photos of AKL!!! Looks peaceful, and empty??? Do you think any of the Club Level Offerings come from Sanaa? Sounds like you had a full day transferring over....Get some rest and look forward to hearing and seeing more from your trip!

as a veterinarian i love the akl; we only stayed there once though but always dine there 2 or 3 times each trip; our 1 stay there was for walts 100th sept 29- oct 6 2001; we had originally booked the GF Concierge but when we saw what the AKL looked like we had to switch to their Concierge level(im using the old names for CL lol); the akl had just opened up a few months before that in 2001; then sept 11 hit and planes stopped flying; they started again in late in sept BUT dw would not fly; and then said would not go; dd and i said we are going somehow and could not miss walts 100th(i bought that leather jacket they had out then); so from long island we convinced dw to go; decided to drive; 1st day made it to disneys hilton head in about 10 hours(could have stayed anywhere but a little out of the way for disney was fine); next day 7 hours to wdw; CM don had recently moved over from the poly; we had a great room and our first evening at the lounge hulk hogan was there with family; it was a bunch of years after his tv series thunder in paradise ended filming at wdw; we even did back then the scavenger hunt and dd received a great akl themed mickey plush; while at wdw the place was empty; all the character meals were empty and we had so much time with them all to ourselves; at first i felt bad for disney but then realized let us have fun now and disney will come back strong as it did; between early entry and no lines it was a great week; i have loads of stories and have been on the DIS since its inception but had to change my name for a certain reason lol; and thats another long great story ;-);

latest CL opening info from Aug 31:

"
As we shared a few months ago, we’re looking forward to reopening our Club Level Lounges at Walt Disney World Resort, with a phased opening plan. The latest Lounge reopening dates can be found below:
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Now Open!
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Royal Palm Club – Sept. 16, 2021
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Resort – Sept. 23, 2021
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Sept. 26, 2021
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Dec. 16, 2021
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Dec. 16, 2021
Our lounges will continue to provide a personalized experience for Guests, including exclusive food & beverage options throughout the day and special Disney touches for all ages.
For Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort, we anticipate these lounges will reopen at a later date.
Bookings for Club Level rooms and suites can be made online or by calling the Disney Reservation Center. Please note that until Club Level reopens at a resort, the website will only show Suites under one room type name (without Club-Level Service). For non-Suites, rooms will be listed as “with Club-Level Service” but only allow you to book for dates that are available once the Club Level lounge reopens.
As the Club Level reopens at each resort, the website will return to display the suites and non-Suites as “with Club-Level Service” as before."

So I guess we can debate whether the lack of reference to GF-SL was intentional, or an oversight. :scratchin
My money is on intentional: too many people eating too much $$ food and drinks. People were always complaining how crowded Sugar Loaf was and it's probably harder to maintain control of the 'free' offerings.
