Is anyone hoping that when club level resumes housekeeping will be more often or be able to get extra stuff like towels?
I would ask for the extra towels in advance, at checkin. Is anyone hoping that when club level resumes housekeeping will be more often or be able to get extra stuff like towels?
Possible. Maybe it will be a minor refresh as opposed to a full blown remodel.I'm going to go with remodel. While it could be anything of course, often when guests start noticing major chunks of time where nothing is available with little chance they would actually be fully booked... that's a tell-tale sign something may be coming.
I personally don't think they're going to let GF sit by too long with older style rooms with all of the other MK resorts having effectively brand new rooms.
Could also maybe be some holding back of inventory on account of the Big Pine Key DVC conversion, that I think was stated as "summer 2022"?
But just speculating.
We have to have extra wash cloths due to our youngest daughter having to have warm compresses and eye washes for her eye conditions, so my DH on every trip this year has gone by the front desk on the first day and been like "we need a bunch more!". Within 10 minutes we have someone at our door with a bag full of wash cloths lol, we always put it in a drawer in the bathroom so they don't see it and think we're good to go and don't need more (because, those are for her eyes, the rest of us do still need to clean ourselves too lol). We so far haven't had to ask for towels since we've mainly been in 1 bedroom units with lots of towels for all of us, but they're always good about bringing them asap. I do want housekeeping to return to normal, but least they are good about bringing extras when needed.I would ask for the extra towels in advance, at checkin.
If I have extra unused towels during the day I usually put them in a drawer so when they replace the bathroom ones I have extra towels.
If I see a cart in the hallway, I will ask the person for towels in the hallway.
If I do not see a person, I will take the towels I need off the cart.
Extra towels are non-negotiable for me. I need extra towels.
I have a CL reservation for October and want to call signature services to ask about some planning details. I'm also still holding a regular room reservation. Is it true that they'll cancel the regular room if you call them? We'll either be doing CL or VIP tour, so we'll get access to Signature Services either way.
It's because I'm waiting to find out if FP is coming back and we can get more via CL. If not, we'll probably use that money to facilitate some other option, like a VIP tour. So ya, guess I won't callWhy are you holding two rooms? This is really what they'll be asking.
For example: If it's for your mom, okay, but they'll put her name first. If it's for kids you will need an adult's name on the room but not yours.
If you just aren't sure which room you want, yes, they will make you decide between the two.

I hear ya. Making plans is hard when Disney won't let us know what to plan for. It's because I'm waiting to find out if FP is coming back and we can get more via CL. If not, we'll probably use that money to facilitate some other option, like a VIP tour. So ya, guess I won't call![]()
I suppose the worst that could happen is they see the second reservation, point it out, spout off the rules of one room only. At this point she could say she has to call family and ask which day they're arriving to settle the names on the room and quickly say g'bye.Maybe I’m wrong, but I would be surprised if they’d even ask about the other room. DSS is a concierge/planning service, they don’t do resort reservations. You give them the confirmation number of your CL stay, y’all chat about whatever planning topics you have, and that’s it. Seems harmless to me.
My daughter (age 10; this trip we celebrated becoming a Disney adult, lol) and I are headed home tomorrow after a week at WDW. We spent the first half of our trip at VGF and the second at the Four Seasons. After this trip, I have to say there isn’t much to keep us staying at Disney deluxe resorts. My daughter likes the fun of being in the Disney bubble, which we’ve had to some extent here at the FS but not as much as at a Disney resort. The big advantage to being at a Disney resort is being at a MK resort and the ease of transportation to the MK (I really don’t like the hassle of parking at the TTC).
Other than that, our experience here has been far above and beyond anything we’ve ever experienced at a Disney resort. The FS has been a truly deluxe experience in every way. There’s no CL here, but in my opinion, the other perks far exceed the CL experience.
At the current prices to stay at Disney, I’m not sure we will do it again. If there’s a decent discount, I would do it, but if not and I’m paying all of this money, I certainly feel like the FS is the better experience and where my money will go. My daughter agrees. I asked her at the pool yesterday if she would prefer to stay at the GF for the experience of staying at a Disney hotel, and she told me there is no way she would rather swim at the Beach pool!
I was just checking our dates in the fall, and a room here at the FS is actually a little less than a CL room at Disney. I’m considering switching and staying here again. Actually, I’m really unsure. We’re going to Boo Bash, and I really like the advantage of being able to walk back at the end of the night without the hassle of any type of transportation. At least for me, the advantage to the Disney resorts at these prices is the location. I’ll have to give it some thought. I’m not sure how likely a discount is right before the 50th. I’m a little sad we’re going to miss it, but we have to travel earlier due to the school schedule.
I often have more than one room booked. I have no idea how people are supposed to know who, what and when for a vacation in advance. I have never had any issues. I cancel the extras once I know which one will work. I have had as many as 4 resorts/room options booked at a time. It's because I'm waiting to find out if FP is coming back and we can get more via CL. Is it an AKL CL stay sometime close to the last week of September, by any chance? They are calling people because they are moving everyone off of the 6th floor that week (spanning the 50th) for “maintenance”. That might be what the call is about, rather than you holding multiple reservations. I don’t think the computers ever actually flag them.I suppose the worst that could happen is they see the second reservation, point it out, spout off the rules of one room only. Ironically, this is exactly the issue I'm having: My son and his GF are not sure what day they will be arriving so my name is on their CL room which is right smack in the middle of my stay. Member services called and left me a message that they need to talk to me about one of my reservations.
Yes, It's the following week. That would really stink if they're tossing us out of those rooms. They're all DVC and not due for updates yet, so I don't know what maintenance they'd be doing on them. That’s the one. My sense is that they are closing off the floor for a VIP group or three during the 50th celebrations. However, they are also moving some Value rooms in the last week of August citing the same maintenance, so who knows?Yes, It's the following week. Well, I also have a value room booked that week so If I look up at those CL rooms and see people on the balconies after we've been moved I'm going to be tearing into someone. That’s the one. On our past visits, the standard 2QB CL rooms were on the 4th floor overlooking the Arusha savanna. They were among the rooms closest to the lobby. The rooms across from them were pool views. The walk to the elevator was under one minute. Can anyone tell me please how long the walk is usually from the CL rooms at Jambo to the elevators/ lounge? They are moving us from the 6th floor DVC rooms over the 50th celebration week (citing “maintenance”, mmm-hmm) and said that they will put us in a CL room on the hotel side. Seeing as it’s just me and the kidlet that trip and we are used to being able to just walk back and forth between the room and the lounge, this has me wanting to just cancel altogether. I know that I must sound entitled, but I’m unhappy that we are going to have to travel up and down an elevator just for coffee (or wine, because let’s be honest).
