Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I’m not trying to cause undue stress for anyone, but they’ve certainly allowed many people to book in the past and then just moved them to a different room (or in the case of dvc, simply refunded the difference in points). I guess we all still have a few weeks to get confirmation, I was just hoping to see something official by now!

We booked a CL at BWI for July 18 and were recently contacted and had to change our room.

I “liked“ your post for the helpfulness of it, not because I am happy to read that you had to change. I’m sorry . It’s frustrating with the constant moving of goalposts overall but very much in regards to CL!

Does your reservation say Main Building? I think you should be able to access the lounge since all the rooms in the main building are club rooms. The top 3 floors are considered "The Club", I don't see how they could specifically exclude your room.

Yes it does. The reservation says “Main building 1 bedroom suite”. Having never stayed at GL I do not have a good idea of what rooms are which. Just looking to make this a very special vacation.

I know club level hasn't opened up, but I was hoping that the hotels that usually did would continue them. I'm trying to book a 2022 trip as backup right now. I have it as boardwalk and I don't think they did it in the past so Im trying to adjust hotels.

I had the same question as @Minnie1222 above. Do you still have your main building suite reservation? That room will be CL.

It is a main building reservation but nothing on the reservation states CL so I thought it was just a plain room with no perks. Showing my GF naivete.

Long story short (and I’m sorry if you already know all of this) - traditionally Disney suites are CL access. Later last summer a bit after reopening, Disney decided to make the suites across all the resorts bookable but “took them out of the CL category” since at the time there was no clarity on the return of CL. Note the rates did not change.

So fast forward to now where we have reopening dates for some CLs, we’re in the somewhat weird situation where several of us like yourself have suite reservations for a date for after CL reopens, but the reservation detail still doesn’t say CL.

I’m assuming that’s more Disney website/booking technology related more than anything - I’m guessing their system isn’t programmed/set up to have a bookable room category for some dates that are CL and some that aren’t, so they’ve just left it alone for the moment.

Plus there’s no physical way a suite guest in the main building could be excluded from CL services anyway, and it would make very little sense (in my opinion) for Disney to even attempt as such.

Yes. Our reservation states “Main building - 1 bedroom suite”. Thanks for the explanation. That helps explain the situation. Wish the CM‘s had explained it as good as you did.

My rule of thumb: I always order a water delivery. Even if there's left overs the valet staff usually appreciates it.

Just FYI, BWI CL did give water, you just had to ask. In the summer they would usually ask us if we wanted them when we would indicate that we were heading to the parks.

You should be able to access the lounge. Your room is physically inside "the club zone".

Anyone know what’s going on with AKL CL? I know a few of you have booked and we usually rent DVC but they are telling me it’s not officially announced so they can’t offer/book it for me at this time.

Correct, 9/23. Any CL reservations before then would have been made in prior times when CL was still bookable and are being changed/modified by Disney like they’ve been doing all along now. Or at least that’s how I read the PPs circumstance.
