Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Just walked by Hawaii. Rooms and lounge all covered up tight. Could see the very top of some scaffolding in the lounge as they didn’t cover up a very top portion of the windows, but nothing material.

Either really nervous or really excited, don’t know what to think.

Has anyone actually received confirmation that AKL CL will reopen on August 26th? I was talking to a DVC CM about another issue and he said that while the rooms on both the dvc and hotel sides were bookable, they haven’t actually received confirmation that the club level would be opening on that date or any specific date for that matter.

I have a club level question. I have noticed when trying to book for next year that the 1 and 2 bedroom suites which are usually club level are not under club level rooms. Do you think they will change them back once the clubs reopen? I can book club level rooms but not the suites, the suites are not under that category. I am just worried to book a suite if I will not have the club level! TIA!

we're booked for 9/4 to 9/7. I can't imagine they would let people book it and not actually have it? It's the only reason I would book at AKL since it's so far off the beaten path. . I almost feel I should have a backup plan.

I’m not trying to cause undue stress for anyone, but they’ve certainly allowed many people to book in the past and then just moved them to a different room (or in the case of dvc, simply refunded the difference in points). I guess we all still have a few weeks to get confirmation, I was just hoping to see something official by now!

Have been at Gran Destino since Friday night and have utterly fallen in love with the place. Photos and YouTube does not do this tower justice. And the grounds are so beautiful! I am now dying to try the CL here with gf. Would love to split it with GF or Poly.

So glad you like it. Put CL on your bucket list when it returns, they did a really good job there pre-pandemic (IMO).

So glad you are enjoying the weekend. I debated switching to the tower but no balcony has me concerned. We love sitting on the balcony with a coffee or adult beverage. Do you find you are missing having one?

It’s the one thing I don’t like (well, and no tub). We are balcony people for sure. I don’t think I could do a whole week/plus here for that reason, I miss it too much. But for a long weekend like this or a few days before another resort where I have one, I don’t mind.

Would you choose it over AKL Savanna View NOT CL? I could do GDT Standard View Club for basically the same rate as AKL Savanna View NOT CL for my pre-cruise trip. (Even less if I went not CL as I'm not sure how much use I'd really get out of CL since the going back and forth thing would be an issue.)

I’ve never stayed at AKL so I really can’t speak on it. I can say that if I wasn’t especially married to the idea of seeing animals out my window I’d do it in a heartbeat. If I’m staying at a resort that just has bus transportation, I refuse to pay those prices lol. And GDT is really nice for the price.

A Poly room popped open for my stay. Of course I booked that too. Kills me that it is rack rate. I'm just reading that there won't be monorail service for a while, maybe September! So if I wanted to go eat at the CR, I have to boat/bus to MK and then catch a monorail? Is that right? Or can I get it at TTC and it just bypasses Poly stop? If I have to go to MK to make my adrs I'm not sure it is worth staying at the Poly. I'm so confused. For those that are there, how does it look? Is it still relaxing with the work?

It’s been a dream to stay at the GF for years and now that the kids are grown and gone it’s time for my DW and me. At the time CL rooms were not available to book so we booked a general main building suite. I was calling practically every day to attempt a room upgrade to CL. When they announced CL reservations were open I jumped right in. CM told me CL rooms weren’t available yet for our stay. After weeks of calling a CM finally told me all CL rooms are booked. Maybe if I could get lucky if someone would cancel. That means constantly checking the website for the next year and half. CL rooms are available in August and November 2022 but September and October nothing is available. I have gotten several different stories and am longer sure what the real story is.

Does your reservation say Main Building? I think you should be able to access the lounge since all the rooms in the main building are club rooms. The top 3 floors are considered "The Club", I don't see how they could specifically exclude your room.

You can get the monorail at the TTC.

- Walk to TTC to get on the Resort Monorail
- Walk to GF to get on the Resort Monorail
- Bus from Poly to MK and walk to CR
- Boat from Poly to MK and walk to CR
- Walk from Poly to CR via GF-MK walkway (that’s a decent walk)

Be mindful of park/transportation hours with all of the above.

Went to Poly the other night. CMs at Tambu were saying Sept for the monorail, station, but obviously take with a grain of salt. Station has made a lot of progress, but still much to do from the looks of it.

Thanks, will stick with TTC. I'm trying to limit walking outside of the parks. My 17 year old is having problems with his feet. He has orthotics and an antinflammatory. Where are you staying this trip? Did the Poly still have the relaxing vibe? Did the construction ruin it for you?


I'm so confused. It also amazes me that it is booked solid, with construction, and at rack rate. Poly or YC. That's my debate right now.

I leave for Aruba Saturday and I'm sitting hear stressing over August's Disney trip I fully expect any fastpass or crazy updates will be posted here.

Where are you staying this trip? Did the Poly still have the relaxing vibe? Did the construction ruin it for you?

I’ve been at YC, but frankly wish I was at Poly or a MK resort. I have come to the conclusion that I don’t really love YC without CL, as snooty as that is to say. I can’t really pin-point why - I think it’s the food/convenience. For the first time the food options around YC/BC have grown stale for me… options/menus are just so limited. :-(

I don’t mind the Poly construction - and with most (although not all) of it “out front” it’s not always in your face.

That was definitely my experience last month. I’ve enjoyed the food at CSR much more by comparison. It’s just a shame Toledo isn’t open yet.
