Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

just got a confirmation email for our June stay YC WV CL booked last year before they were stopped. nothing about no club level just the standard legal mumbo jumbo. while I doubt CL will be back, it is an interesting turn of events. Here hoping soon arrives in June
what type of confirmation email? from Signature Services?

Just from Disney destinations. Probably just a computer email but I haven’t received a phone call yet asking me to change my room. They came at 60 days out before.

wishful thinking I’m sure but right now I need some good news so I’m looking on the bright side but ready for another non club trip anyway 😁

Does anyone here do both DVC and club level? I am not talking about the AKL dvc club level rooms, but rather those who own DVC but still do club level for some trips or parts of trips.

We did club level once for a long weekend pre-covid and loved the convenience with small children. But we are considering getting into DVC for the 1-2 bedrooms as the kids get older.

I am torn between the larger villa sizes and the convenience of club level, and was wondering if anyone had experience with both to compare!

This question you posed is one I'm having to consider myself as my DD moves into teenhood.

I am not a DVC member but I have stayed in DVC rooms when not staying concierge. During my last trip (just back a few days now), we went with a Beach Club Villa as concierge was not available. That extra space is really nice. I used the washer/dryer too which is something I don't normally do on a trip. The only real use we got out of the kitchen was using the fridge. It was definitely nice to have a larger one to shove all the drinks in. That said, we wouldn't have needed one so large if we were staying concierge.

I think for us, we'll still stay concierge most trips if possible because I do love having lounge access and the other perks that come along with concierge. I'm on the west coast and I really do loathe having to wake up at 4am to make ADRs.

We had a similar conversation a few pages back if you’d like to view the replies HERE (including my reply.) Hope that helps!!

We do exactly this. Just depending upon the stay and what we have going on. We basically feel like the lounge is our "living room" of sorts when staying non-dvc. I would start with a small contract and then add on more as you need them. That way, you're not left with a large contract if you feel like DVC isn't for you. Plus, small contracts resale much better than large ones.

I prefer cl with only 2/3 of us go.

If all 4(or 5 I’d DD’s bf comes) I prefer the 1/2 bed villas.

I did book 2 rooms at GF once. One room in RPC and one on outerbuilding. but I did miss being in the same room as the kids. I paid the extra adult fee for the kids on my room for cl access.

What I like about villas in getting up and having coffee in bed , still in my pjs. We have have a quick bagel or scramble some eggs pretty fast and be on our way.

In the afternoon we just grab stuff as we get off mono at CR and take it back to the room. We have a table and room to sprawl out. It is so comfortable !

I will have some wine and some nuts with DH before heading out for the evening,

We usually do blt and enjoy all the bathrooms and guaranteed balcony👍

I don’t really cook but find we like a full fridge and having a washer in case it rains and all your stuff gets soaked etc.

I have a Universal cl trip split with a BLT split next. The first 2 days just me and dd then all of us in a 2 bed villa. Best of both worlds.

Do you feel with longer (week plus) stays that club level gets monotonous? My only experience is for long weekends.

Yes and no. In some ways you find a way to enjoy each offering on a longer trip. A night, an afternoon etc without stressing that you missed out. On short trips I sometimes feel like I need to stay in the lounge all day lol.

I have done CL just a night at the end too. Sometimes that works with park commando at the beginning and then relax at the end.

Hi everyone! Please forgive me as only one of my questions is CL related. But you guys are my favorite Disney people so I'm going with it. :rotfl2:

We have a trip planned in October staying Poly TPV. I will definitely try and move it to a CL room if that option happens to come back, however I was wondering if it doesn't is there a decent chance that room type would be in Hawaii building?

Also, my husband and I are coming for a quick 25th anniversary trip (first time kidless :cool1: ) and are wanting to spend a night hanging out at Disney Springs. Do you have any favorite fun atmosphere restaurants you like? Possibly with outdoor seating?

Finally, with this last quick minute trip, we are only going to Epcot and staying at the Dolphin. Should I take a few magic bands with me or will they give us one at checkin? Our tickets came my email.

Thanks for all your help!!

Good question about Hawaii. I would watch opening and see what people report. I would think they would need to use those rooms. $$$

DD and I have done lunches at DS. The Italian place had outdoor seating and good food.

I always bring a band. You need it for ME and if room is ready you don't have to go to desk.

Dolphin doesnt use MBS for hotel or restaurants. LOL we ate at Trattoria(SP?) and were embarrassed we couldnt use a mb for our Dolphin stay. DH had to walk to the room while i sat there like an idiot.

i have an odd question that you may or may not be able to answer: what are they doing with CL rooms right now? are they just not filling the rooms or are they not giving the perks associated with CL?

(sorry if that doesn't make much sense).

NO PERKS :(
I have observed them using the Atrium floor at CR floor 12. People have been placed in SL and RPC at GF sporadically.

@TJA reported being placed on 5th floor YC.

WL , BC, BWI, Poly and AKL resorts have been closed.

@GADisneyDad14 posted pix of empty lounge at CSR. The cl rooms in the Tower prior to covid were not floor based, it was CL access.

The rooms themselves were generally the same but had robes in the closet. Suites are now available WITHOUT CL access but discounts have been great. Prior you got lucky to get 5-10% off suites. They now apply GP and AP rates. So these are a good way to try a suite space without breaking the bank.

Jock Lindsay's and Boathouse Dockside Bar both have waterside outdoor seating that's great for an adult drink.
