Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

You guys, I'm starting to stress about my end of month trip. My 16yo is just coming off a quarantine (can go to school Monday) and I just got the call that my 13yo has a 10 day quarantine. I'm seriously thinking of keeping them home the week before and taking the absences 🙄 would this be crazy? I would hate not being able to go because of a quarantine.

I’d keep them home. With how much school from home they’ve already done what would the difference to their education be anyway?

Ha, nothing. They would still log on but be marked absent because they are expected in person. My youngest would only be missing 2 days in person. Just not worth missing vacation. Now if only I could stay home from work 😆

I sometimes keep my daughter home the week before we travel, but her school has a way to opt-in to virtual for any reason. I might not do it if she didn’t have the option for virtual. I wonder why your kids’ school considers virtual an absence if they log in and do the work. This makes me really grateful for the option my daughter’s school offers! I chose to quarantine us for two weeks prior to winter break. We were traveling to the Galapagos, and I didn’t want to take a chance we could have been exposed to Covid before traveling to such a remote location.

I’m still trying to decide if I want to keep her home before spring break. Her school will require us to quarantine after we return. I’m trying to hold off on making a decision about keeping her home the week before until I know how long they want for the quarantine after. For a while they had shorter quarantine requirements (in October it was 5 days and a negative Covid test, in November it was 7 days with a negative Covid test), but after winter break, they had us quarantine for two weeks! We had to wait a week after returning before we could test for Covid and then wait three additional days monitoring for symptoms after we had a negative result! I’m hoping spring break will be more like October/November...the school has yet to let me know what they want us to do. I hope the future holds a way to return to normal travel without quarantine!

We are hybrid so the number of cohorts is based on how many kids are in person. They are trying to accommodate as many kids as possible for in person so you are expected in on your days. My youngest is in a NYC junior high and only has 5 or 6 kids in his cohort due to room capacity. Middle school just opened to in person as of 2 weeks ago, has been closed since November. My oldest goes to Catholic HS. Originally it was as you described but then no kids were going in. We had to make a commitment this marking period to all in person or remote and stick with it. It was great, about 10 kids per class and he went in daily. Until someone decided to shove 50 kids on a party bus🙄🤦‍♀️ if either of them have to quarantine and sign on from home that's not an absence. I won't lie though. We have to quarantine for 3 days and test on day 4 and then we are good to go back.

Edited to add, my annoyance with the party bus was the parents sending their kids in to school after it, when 1 or 2 kids on the bus were sick. Keep your kids home until you know they aren't sick. 5 kids ended up positive after it, and they were in school. *sigh*. I'm not judging them letting see friends, everyone parents how they see fit. I'm annoyed about the no concern for others.

Hi mickeynut and blueskies:wave2: Mickeynut hope your Universal trip works out.

I keep checking for CL hoping I will see it available:magnify:...wishful thinking but I keep hoping it will show up. I wish they would say one way or the other if they are working on bringing it back this year.

I would definitely keep them home. If you know they will do the work - I wouldn't care about the days off. Enjoy your vacation - it is much needed these days.

i hate the waiting and wondering also if CL is coming back. our next trip booked is June and our class of room is sold out at the resort we are staying at (Wheelchair access roll in shower) 60 days out is usually when they start calling. wonder what options i'll be given this time.....got none really last time so time will tell. after November 2020's fun, i booked a back up if needed.

if CL is not coming back within the next 8 months they could let us know. I assume the last bookings were/are through Oct 1 2021 with no CL booked after that. they must have some idea what they are going to do.

I am always too paranoid to wait and see what our TA can offer us if we have to be moved...scared that we will get something we don’t like. I hope you get an alternative that works for you.

We are still booked at CR 9/30 - 10/3 in Atrium CL (we booked in the first couple of days it was available to) and holding out hope it will be back by then.

I thought of you today when I moved from BWV to YC gv for 3/18. I know it is one of your favs.

We have A&C at 5:45. Also dd has a work call 2-4. I am guessing I will be more likely to get a room early at YC vs DVC.

Last I will have 2 free hours which at SAB would be more fun.

The next morning our walk to HS will be longer but you can't have everything!

The more of you say 4+4 the more I agree. I think if it's 8 I won't feel too lonely...it's different when I plan a trip to be solo from the start rather than it being the booby prize. :( But I hope things will turn out ok. Thanks again everyone.

I know it's hard not to worry, but I'm sure things will work out ok :goodvibes.

Hi mickeynut and blueskies:wave2: Mickeynut hope your Universal trip works out.

Thanks Maxie! Nothing definite as far as Universal, but my niece told my one sister that I am going with them....lol. I guess telling her it's a possibility and that I'll look into it means to her that I'm going .

I agree! I'm sure Disney knows (or at least has a idea) of what they're going to do with CL, so it would be nice if they let us know.

Looks like a good plan. A&C is a must do for us. Hope you have a great trip.

Has anyone done any of the behind the scenes tours? I have always wanted to do this and considering for the fall trip if they have opened back up. Just looking advice on the ones you enjoyed or didn't.

Thanks!

We have done a few of them..Behind the Seeds, Yuletide Fantasy, Marceline to the Magic Kingdom..and a few others too..and enjoyed each and every one! And would dwfinitely recommend doing one ( the Marceline to the MK tour especially is steeped in Disney history and takes you back stage at the HM..lots of fun)... the only thing is I don't think there are any tours available currently ...

I did Keys to the Kingdom at MK and Caring for Giants and Up Close With Rhinos at AK and loved them all!!

We did Keys to the Kingdom twice and Backstage Magic. Loved both and would do them again. Backstage Magic was a full day and went to all four parks. Hope they bring back tours soon.

We have done Keys to the Kingdom, UnDISCOVERed Future World, WS: DestiNations Discovered, Behind the Seeds, Backstage Safari (not around anymore but was kind of a mix of a bunch of the AK tours) and also the Wanyama Safari (twice) and the Starlight Safari both at AKL. We have really enjoyed all the tours we have done so far and I really don't think you can go wrong with them.

While we probably enjoyed our tour guide the most, KttK was probably the least informative and the one that showed the least backstage, but it tends to get the most love on the boards and is most often peoples go-to for a first tour. I'd highly recommend the 2 in EPCOT we did. They are very different tours from each other where one is more backstage oriented and the other is more cultural with some backstage splashed in. Like I said, you really can't go wrong with any of these types of experiences.

Truth. It was our first tour. I know I'm in the minority but I really wasn't impressed with KTTK. Great guide but it got boring really quick. I like your idea of an Epcot or AK tour. Hoping to get back to the parks soon. Good reviews!
