Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hi all,

We checked into CR Atrium Club late last night and I’ve been surprised to see almost no resort-specific info in either the room or the lounge. No lounge hours, no listing of CL offerings. I did find an activity schedule near the elevators, but that’s all.

I also asked the CL CMs for a schedule for tomorrow (Halloween) and they said there isn’t one, that the resorts don’t celebrate Halloween and that we should maybe go to Disney Springs b/c there might be something there. I know from these forums that in past years, there have been Halloween activities. Where else might I ask? We’re heading to HS for EEMS tomorrow, and I’d love to be able to plan our evening ahead of time.

(Ftr, I don’t think it would be horrible if there were no Halloween activities at the resort, but I would be really irritated to be told mistakenly there weren’t and then end up missing them).

I have not been to a resort on Halloween yet - although I have seen posts about character visits, activities, and such in the past - but I’m not entirely surprised that the CL CMs might not know if anything is going on.

I’ve seen it at Poly CL for 7/4 and 12/31 (for example) - a place that does special viewing just for CL guests and a number of activities on the beach for resort guests. CMs have often had zero clue about anything - although in fairness I don’t think they are supplied with good info in the first place. But it still surprises me every time.

As far as a list of lounge hours, there “should” be a piece of paper or little card that was either in your room or given to you at check-in that’s a basic “welcome” letter with lounge hours. I have typically not seen a printed list of CL offerings at CR in prior stays. Last trip was either Feb or March of this year.

Hope you are otherwise enjoying your trip, despite the bumps.

Try calling Recreation on the phone in the room and ask them? That's usually who knows

Hi! We are checking into the atrium club at CR in 6 days! Super excited for our trip!

In 2012, we were at the Boardwalk resort on Halloween and they had a Halloween party on the green. There was a dj and lots of dancing. All around the green, tables were set up with little games and kids were given treats and party favors. I kind of remember trick or treating on the boardwalk, too. It was a lot of fun! Maybe they’re doing that again this year.

I live in NJ and we went to Disney that year for a quick weekend trip. I picked up my kids (6, 8 and 11 at the time) from school on a Friday and flew down to go to the Halloween party at the mk. We were scheduled to fly back on Monday but then hurricane sandy hit. Our 2 day trip turned into a 2 week trip! Halloween was cancelled here since the hurricane caused so much damage to our area but my kids had a great time at the boardwalk! We loved seeing wdw go from Halloween to Christmas overnight! Lots of fun!!

If you’re still at the atrium club on the 6th maybe we’ll see you! Have a great trip!

Feeling much better. I found a lounge schedule (they posted it at the desk after hours). And the front desk had the Halloween info.

DisneyRobin, we’re leaving on the 3rd, so we’ll miss you. But the lounge really has been nice (dessert last night was wonderful!). Have a great trip.

My daughter works at Lord & Taylor. They usually have meetings daily with updates and info, but sometimes the "powers that be" do not communicate crucial info. It makes the Managers, Supervisors, and Associates look so unprofessional when they get surprises on the floor that were not communicated to them. My daughter works so hard for her customers, and sometimes she feels so stupid when she can't answer a question. So, I have a feeling that the same happens to CMs. They might not always be kept up to date with all of the info. Working with the public can be a thankless job, so I like to cut them some slack.

By the way, is there CL seating on the beach for fireworks every night or just July 4th?

Yeah, totally agree. Seems to always be a left and right hand thing and no communication in between.

The CL reserved viewing section on the Poly beach is only for 7/4 and 12/31.

*Waves hello to East TN* I'm in middle TN. :)

We are doing club level at AKL at Christmas. I'm hoping some of those mixed drinks have jungle juice in them. They served a jungle juice mimosas at the Circle of Flavors in September and it was SO good!
I wasn’t sure I would, but I actually do really like the sunrise sangria, I even make something similar at home when I am being lazy and don’t want to wait for real sangria.

I hope you enjoy AKL-CL, it is by far my favorite of the three we have tried.

If you find that you don't like the sunrise sangria then they also serve a regular sangria as well. You just have to specify which one you'd like.

Questions in regards to this
Does this seating impact the viewing of the earlier showing of fireworks on the 31st? Is it there for both or do they have it closed down to work on the seating set up?

Hmm... I’m trying to recall exact details of the evening. Memory may or may not be a little fuzzy. ;)

They set it up during the day. I know it’s controlled-access for the late show, but I can’t quite remember if it was for the 6:30pm show too or if they just leave it open for all. According to my pics I was in the CL section for the 6:30pm show, just can’t remember if it was in fact open to all or they were already monitoring at that point. I’m pretty sure they were checking, and hopefully one of the other DISers there that evening can help confirm.

Between this section, the reserved Poly guest section next to it (with DJ and characters), the lounge, etc, we were sort of all over the place that evening, which is why I’m blanking on some of the exact details.

Does that answer your question?

Wow! There are so many Tennesseans on this thread! I'm in Memphis. 🙂
I am “from” NE TN (Tri-Cities) and very proud:) DH says we are never moving back...I have been gone nearly 20 years and spent 3 years in OH for college. My accent is mostly gone and very mild compared to my parents and people I hear when I return for a visit. However, I get asked about every week where I am from. They never mean where I currently live :goodvibes

Close enough. Someone elsewhere was inquiring about watching the fireworks there on the 31st at 6:30 and I said I wasn't sure if it was open but if it wasn't they could go to TTC instead.

I am planning on booking a club level stay and i have a question.

I want to guarantee my club level room is in the same building as the club level lounge.

Am i correct in understanding the only resorts where this is not guaranteed is the Grand Floridan and the Poly?

I am deciding between the Yatch Club, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom.

Thanks!

The GF and Poly have separate CL buildings, so you would definitely be in the same building, possibly not the same floor. (The GF also have a CL in the main building, same thing though, possibly a different floor). YC and BW regular CL rooms are the same floor as the lounge, there are some deluxe rooms at the BWI that are on a different floor but same building (1 floor down) and cottage rooms that are separate building in a way (you have to walk outside and back in and up to get to the lounge). The WL CL rooms are on the same floor as the lounge unless you add CL at check in, there are delixe rooms that are same building but different floor. At the AKL none of the CL rooms are on the same floor except DVC CL rooms, so they are the same building but 2 floors down.
I don’t think offhand any CL rooms are in a different building Than the lounge except maybe if you consider the garden cottages at the BWI, but many do have rooms on a different floor. Unless I misunderstood your question?

I think all GF and Poly rooms are in the same building as the lounge. I also believe this to be true regarding Yacht Club, Wilderness Lodge, and AKL (although many rooms are on a different floor and it can be a looooonnng walk from some). Boardwalk has the cottages which are CL but are separate from the main building, but that is a bookable category. Most of the CL BWI rooms are in the same building as the lounge. You didn't ask about it, but I believe there are some suites at the Contemporary resort that are in the garden wing building but have club access. Most rooms that are separate are a bookable category.
