Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Here is my opinion of the water situation. Bottles of water are not provided in the lounge. Everyday, we would take our empty water bottles that we bought from home and fill them using the water seen above. To do this, we would fill a disposable cup with water from the dispense and transfer to our water bottles. (For sanitary reasons, I didn't want to put our water bottles right up agains the dispenser spigot...I hate when people do that...yuck). Anyway, this process was a bit slow and, for the four of us, drained the water canister above a good amount). A few times we did have a CM offer to take the water bottles in the "back" and fill them, but I just wasn't comfortable handing over our water bottles to go "who know's where". I understand why they don't put water bottles in the refrigerator for anyone to take. People would totally hoard them and it would cost Disney a lot of money. Here's what I do think they should do: For the amount we pay for CL rooms, I do think some water bottles should be provided. A good resolution would be to put 4 or so water bottles in the fridge of each room during turndown. People could take them cold to the parks the next morning and they would be limited in the number they receive each day.
Oddly, other CL are putting bottles of water out for guests to take. Not sure why Poly isn't doing it now. When we were at Poly over July 4th I witnessed a CM "scold" a guest for filling their bottle from the dispenser in the lounge.

And even when they didn't put the bottles in the lounge all you have to do is ask, they'll give you all you need. We've didn't ask at Poly. Do they not even give bottles?

Speaking of RAC, if you are checking bags with them on your last day...leave lots of time! We waited in a long line for about 40 minutes! And, note, that RAC closes at noon!
Another observation from our Poly stay, they had the longest RAC line of any resort stay out of all our resort stays ever. Thought it was rather odd too. That even counted AoA, a much larger resort. But yeah, we waited longer there than anywhere else. We never cut it close. Though, as you say, they close at noon, with check out at 11:00, even the line we had at Poly we still had plenty of time. Just watch YOUR plans, like for dining or FP

Confessions of a Resort Changer... So, we were booked at GF (not at CL) for Oct 25-29, but DH wasn't really down with that, so I just booked AKL Savanna View CL at the AP rate. We've stayed at AKL once before, but never at CL. In fact, we've never done CL anywhere. I am super-excited, although it seems like the AKL thread doesn't have a ton of info about CL there, but I found some stuff in this discussion. Looking forward to seeing how the "other half" vacays... :rotfl:

Nice choice. We stayed at AKL CL for the first time in April and, to be honest, we were surprised how much we enjoyed it. You may have stumbled across these, but I wrote about our trip here: AKL CL - April 2018

Your trip will be here before you know it. Have fun!

We liked AKL Club a lot. The food choices are very exotic, so it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But the resort itself is beautiful. We also randomly were in the lounge one afternoon when they did a cultural educational thing of I think Botswana or another similar African country given by a CM from there. It was very interesting. And of course, the included Savannah view! Enjoy!

For anyone following my bahamas flight debacle, we are home in NY. So happy to be home finally. We enjoyed the surprise part of our stay. Will follow directions given and try to post pics tomorrow or the next day. Ahhhh, good to be home.

For some reason, I didn't find your review before! It's exactly what I was looking for. You are totally getting me psyched up for this trip! Thank you :goodvibes

We love the more exotic foods they have at Boma, and we are generally more adventurous eaters, so I think of the food options as a bonus over other CL offerings. Thanks for the feedback :)

Hi from WL-CL! We are staying on the Bounceback we booked last December.

Got our request: MK view and it’s so nice to watch the HEA fireworks from our balcony.

The room is in great shape although the refurbishment is scheduled to begin in October. Obviously that is not set in stone!

The plan is to start on the Club floor (7) and work down, also closing the floor below in order to minimize noise to guest rooms. The Club Lounge itself will not be undergoing rehab and will remain open, although while the rooms on floor 7 are being rehabbed, CL guest rooms will be on floor 5.

The CL CMs are wonderful and always make our stay magical!

A few more Poly Lounge Pics...specifically beverages and desserts. Again, this was July 28 - August 4.

** One final word...I have about 5 pounds to blame on those darn chocolate chip cookies! They are so good! Thank goodness I don't have to pass a plate of chocolate chip cookies every day in my real life...I really lack will power!!

Thanks again for all of the great pics! I know what you mean about the cookies.....the sugar cookies do me in every time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Congrats on booking your first CL stay! I agree about the AKL FAQ....I've never found much information on CL on that thread, either. Enjoy the planning, hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Glad you made it home safely! Looking forward to your pics :goodvibes.

Thanks for checking in, sounds like you're having a great time! Glad your request was met and you have a great view of the fireworks :).

Thanks for the heads up on the refurbishment. Reading your post I started thinking it was too soon for a refurb as I thought WL was just redone, but the more I thought about it, I think it was back in 2012, so 6 years ago. I am considering a quick trip in December and was thinking WL CL, but think I'll put that off if a refurb is (tentatively) scheduled ;).

Came more then once, sorry. That may not be from golf course and just the atlantis property. I will go look again.

I know I read somewhere in this thread that if you book a WL room you can ask to have your room upgraded to a CL access for an extra charge. I stalked the website like crazy to add 2 nights to our upcoming October trip and found an AP rate at the WL at a pretty good rate. We will then be moving to the BC for another week to enjoy F&W festival. I have read so much about the WL CL that I was hoping to be able to try it out for our short stay here. I did call in and ask and got a CM that had no idea of what I was talking about and she told me to ask at the front desk when I checked in.

So my question is do they still allow it and how much does it cost per night? Thanks everyone.

The CM on the reservation line aren't at the resort and won't have any idea. Sadly, so often, the last to know anything.
It's $99/night

I’m visiting WDW for the first time in October, and some of that will be AKL Savannah View CL. I gather a CM/concierge will call me at some point, but I figure I can get a better and faster reply here!

I really want to do the Starlight Safari. I had to cancel it when our plans changed, and there is no availability for the night that I want it. Is this something that the CL CM who calls me is likely to be able to get me on? I’m so annoyed with myself for cancelling, but I didn’t want to trail over from WL for it, when I knew I was staying at AKL earlier in our trip.
