Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

So if you upgrade to the $50/day is there anything MAKING you book the 3 fps i.e. will your regular 3 FP not work if you don't book the 3 extras? You could have the nice viewing for fireworks without having to eat low quality sugar laden treats. The parties are more than $50pp. Win, win!

So excited!! We will be in the Poly Club level at the end of August.

In regards to the night time viewing areas you can pay for (50 extra per day) I had some questions:
Is it only offered at a specific park every day? Or does every park have a designated area everyday. Where are these locations? I don’t know the parks well at all so I wouldn’t understand if they are truly good viewing areas?

Thanks so much for any information!!!

Quick question about specific room requests. Can we make those with the Club Level (DSS) team via email?

We are booked in a "Standard Tower Club" room at the Contemporary and our travel agent put in our request for "Magic Kingdom view", but in looking at the rooms with 2 queen beds (there are only 3 of them on this floor), 2 of them are on the MK side and one is on the Bay Lake side. One of the MK rooms is a room I do NOT want because it has the handicapped accessible bathroom with the roll in shower (has the toilet out in the open right in front of the vanity and the shower has no curtain because it's a roll in). That will not work at all for our family, for privacy reasons (we are a family of 4 and it won't work to have the entire bathroom off limits to everyone else when one person is in there). I would rather have the Bay Lake view than get this room. So, I want to be able to specifically request only rooms 4905 (the Bay Lake one) or 4913 (the MK one). Can I do this with DSS or do I need my TA to change the request to be more specific?

I don't know what we will do if we end up in that HA room...I would rather be in a non club level room than that one. We ended up with a room like that once in a hotel and it was awful. We ended up having to use the bathroom in the lobby several times and I do not want to be doing that when we are paying what we are for this room.

TBH, it’s pretty unlikely that you would get a TPV room if you booked a SV anyway since that’s an upgrade, and they will likely sell out of that category anyway. But to answer your question, you can add room requests via DSS, and if you are concerned about the bathroom, I would just have them add no HA rooms, please!

Oh my, I had no idea about the glowing eyes - I'd definitely scar her! Luckily we know we love YC/BC as a resort, just hoping we get good service!
I agree with you about the creepy clown pool...especially since the eyes glow at night:scared1:! But we love the CL there so much that we have found BWI to be a great winter resort since temperatures are perfect for walking to parks and enjoying the BW activities (magicians, etc) but too cold to swim. The clown pool is pretty far from the CL rooms anyway, but the quiet pool and hot tub are really nice! I will be there this weekend, and I am really looking forward to it...but I will not be going to the clown pool:rotfl:! We did try it once when we did a split stay last summer, but I wasn’t impressed anyway because there wasn’t a zero entry. The slide was actually pretty fun, but I’ll be sticking with monorail resorts for summer probably unless it’s a split stay.
Hi Dispro:wave: we don't mind the clown pool. DS loved the slide when he was young. We'll be at BWI this weekend too...see you in the lounge. party:we added two nights on so we can stay for SB...GO PATS!!

So glad you are staying longer!! Can’t wait to see you:jumping1:!! I can’t wait for those delicious appetizers either...I love that they added the nightly chef...and the Sunday brunch!!

Actually, we are staying on the Tower Club Level, not Atrium Club Level. In the Tower Club, you cannot specifically book a view when you book one of the standard rooms (the rest of the floor is only suites and those are bookable by view). There are three standard rooms up there with queen beds, the other two are king rooms which we wouldn't get as a party of 4.

I think poster is referring to Tower Club Level vs Atrium Club Level.

I haven't been since they added the chef. Looking forward to it and seeing you and DH.

Yep...sorry, for not paying attention! I’m gonna blame it on the head cold from which I haven’t fully recovered ! But in spite of my ignorance concerning Tower club rooms, I would think adding no HA rooms to your room request would still be a good idea. I’ll be eagerly awaiting your review after your stay. Who knows...maybe you’ll tempt me to abandon my favorite 3 CLs!!

Something tells me it's going to be a fun afternoon in the lounge! Have a fantastic time! :grouphug:

Not sure if the bold was answered in the chatter above, but if not, YES, you can make those requests with DSS either via e-mail or phone. I usually e-mail as I worry about stuff getting lost in transcription. Even with a resort stay booked with a TA, you can still use DSS to add requests to your reservation. I'd suggest keeping it relatively brief and giving the room assignor something to work with, which I know is tough given the extreme room # limitations for Tower Club.

Hope it all works out for you.

Every park has a reserved viewing area, every day. Here's a list of the locations:

Reserved Nighttime Viewing Locations
  • MK/HEA - Plaza Garden West (this is the fake grass/garden area in front of Casey's, the opposite garden from where they do the Plaza Garden dessert party) (my opinion, this is a great area)
  • Epcot/Illuminations - Germany, on the water near the glass blowing cart (my opinion, seems as good as any I guess, although so many good options all around even without reserved viewing)
  • HS/Fantasmic! - Near the dessert & VIP viewing experience area (Will lose some of my Disney cred here, but I've atually never done Fantasmic. I assume it's a good spot, but no personal experience.)
  • AK/ROL - Enter via the FP area, close to the water in that general FP area (have not done ROL either so can't comment)
Hope that helps!

I agree about MK and Epcot. I can speak to Fantasmic! and ROL. The Fantasmic area is near the center of the stage so it should be a great viewing area. ROL if it is in the FP section down near the water that should be good too. The FP section seems to be located at a better angle than the stand by line section is. The only area I think is not special is Illuminations. I agree with GADisneyDad14, it is about as good as anywhere else you can view from on that side of World Showcase. Just my two cents for what it is worth.

Congratulations to Gadisneydad on being a moderator.
Now you are legally required to travel more? Congrats!
Now is probably not a good time to tell you that next week Disney is announcing that dogs can go on all rides. Lol. Good luck as moderator, you are an amazing source of information and always helpful.
Haha I almost choked on my cereal reading that.

I haven't been since they added the chef. Looking forward to it and seeing you and DH.
You are going to love having the chef! If chef Redgie is there, he is amazing. He truly loves his job and enjoys talking to the guests. Redgie will explain his cooking techniques and give you his recipes. He is amazing and has become one of our favorites up there!

Of course you can make the requests. I would simply ask them to put it “no handicap accessible room”.

As you know - the chances of getting the HA room in the Tower Club are much higher than other places due to them only having 5 rooms total.

Couple of suggestions -

IF they end up giving you that HA room - and them not being able to accommodate a different room - ask to get a room in the Atrium Club but keep access to the Tower Lounge since it is more quaint and not as crazy busy.

Offer that you’d be willing (IF you are) to change rooms if they have availability to shift you around. I’ve done that one time when they only had Bay Lake and I really wanted MK view. We changed to MK view after two days.

I would highly suggest you do this upstairs with the Tower CM’s. If they make you check in downstairs just take what they give you and deal with what I mentioned upstairs. The Tower Crew has some of the most amazing CM’s in property and they will be accommodating any which way they are able to and they will accommodate. Just be honest and tell them why that room really doesn’t work for you family and what I suggested up there to show that you are willing to make it work on your end too. You might even end up with some pixie dust ;)

Thank you for the suggestions. I will handle it that way if necessary. I am always about being friendly and super flexible. We just originally wanted a Tower MK view room but we are using the military discount and the ONLY option in the tower with the discount was this Tower Club Level Standard room, and at under $600/night, it was a no brainer. The Disney site still shows availability in all other Tower room view categories, so I am hopeful that they will be able to accommodate us SOMEWHERE else in the tower if necessary. To be honest, that would be better for us anyway because then we would get a daybed too. We are already "dealing with" the fact that the Tower Club room doesn't have a daybed, but the trade off is...TOWER CLUB! ;)

Ultimately, we booked this resort so that we could watch the July 4th fireworks from either our room or a CL lounge, because our autistic son loves fireworks but can't handle the noise from seeing them inside the parks. This has always been a bucket list thing for me and it has finally all come together, so we will make do. We will only be at CR four nights and then we move to BC in a Deluxe Room so we will have a guaranteed day bed AND bathroom layout that works.

It would be do able if we get the HA room if there is a guest bathroom in the Tower Club Lounge. Anyone know whether there is or not? @GADisneyDad14

@DLgal
Have you considered making something like this your request:
"Kindly request room with full tub."
Hopefully that might simplify things.

Whenever I make a room request I keep it as short as possible. I write it down in my notes so I can be sure I made the identical friendly brief request to both reservations and DSS.

I haven't thought about that, because having a tub isn't really a requirement since our kids are older.
